The Abeona Initiative was a massive project that began with the events happening during the Anarian Fever Crisis. This massive enterprise took place somewhere between 20,005 CE and 20,167 CE when the project was finally completed and closed once its original purpose was successfully carried on.

The Initiative was born out of the despair caused by the war and the absence of help from the failing state. This was evident in the Anarian Fever Crisis but it had been already a reality for quite sometime as war efforts were taking most of the economy and the people.

It consisted in the idea of abandoning once and for all the torn out Via Sagittaria Galaxy and the crumbling of civilization through the effect of war (as it was known to that date) by escaping to a far Galaxy. A new opportunity to build up a haven for humanity from scratch. This required many humans to work side by side putting away their differences and joining up for a common cause. The Initiative goal was to build up massive arks with scaping refugees from the various wars and settled them in a lush verdant and peaceful world in which they could prosper.

Birth of the Initiative

The Initiative was born out of the joined efforts and a sort of continuation of the research done in Anar with the Anarian Fever Crisis. Once the disease was contained all the joined up effort began to turn towards another project: Leaving Via Sagittaria. This project caught up the attention of many planets discontent with the mostly authoritarian nations of the galaxy or simply looking for a way out. The Abeona Initiative grew exponentially and many private founding and public effort turned to save humanity instead of the war. Anar situation was privilege's as it was far from conflict zones and was mostly spared from war during much of the War, ironically thanks to the diseases. The enemy and the nation avoided the world considering it infested.

Scientist started to collaborate and work towards the exploration of the Eye of Freedom Wormhole and the construction of massive Spaceships to contain a large amount of population.

The starting date of the project is hard to pin point, but the first meeting occurred somewhere between 20,005 CE and 20,017 CE. The Goals of the project were defined and each participant was set with several tasks were they excelled at. Anar was used as a center for the directive, as well as one of the main contributors. The First stages were focused on making a save passage of spaceships through the Eye of Freedom wormhole. Tested as stable, and slightly stabilized even more by the project, the next step in it was the exploration of the Galaxy on the other side.

Several Planetary candidates arose on the systems around and nearby the Wormhole, on the other side. This led to the successful discovery of Elpida which later was confirmed as the perfect spot for the new colony. Other candidates were selected, like Mitra and Pax but they were simply included into the new settler charts for future colonization.

Debate arose among scientists and participants about if several colonies should be stablished on the other side instead of just one. However, the multiple-founding colonies idea was quickly rejected.

The first premise was of not diluting the population and genetic variation of the settlers too much and concentrate all its might in one place so they could expand from there. It was as well argued that several inciting events could lead to a war among them. Because of all this Elpida was the only place approved to be the new Aegyn for Humanity.

Some of the Planets participating, were selected to undergo construction of the Massive ships. Most were systems and planets isolated or far from becoming targeting points for enemy forces. Those that were in the enemy radar contributed in technology information, consulting and even research and exploration.

By the 20,130 CE most of the Colony Spaceships were already built and almost finished. This led to one of the most important logistical movement in mankind in its history. Colony ships technology, research, building and improvement, have been after this Initiative one of the most famous advanced items and contributions of the Lewis Nations to the Universe to this day.

Selection of colonist was a hard task to do. However, many of those left behind ended up migrating later on to Elpida and its new colonies, since the War recovery had a massive economical toll in the old galaxy.

End of the Initiative

By 20,160 CE the colony ships were ready and all was set up to leave the Via Sagittaria Galaxy into the unknown. The Twelves Colony Ships of the Forefathers were ready and set up to leave and start again. In 20,161 CE the Ships departed through the Wormhole and successfully landed in 20,166 CE on the lush world of Elpida.

The project continued through the wormhole to control the galaxy and to protect the enemy from crossing to the Lewis Galaxy. It was eventually shield until 20,286 CE when it was finally closed. It wasnt reopened until 20,568 CE.

Outcome

The Outcome of the Initiative can be summed up by the successful completion and escape of the refugees into the Lewis Galaxy. This event is known as "The Great Scattering", in which thousands of souls crossed the wormhole into new territory. In the next centuries many more followed, after the massive economic crisis the war had caused in the Via Sagittaria Galaxy. This flock of people were settled in the new colonies of the newly founded Republic of Elpida. However, the Wormhole was closed quickly to prevent enemies from crossing over to the Lewis Galaxy and contact between both galaxies ended. It wasnt until millennia later, that it was rehabilitated once more, with trade and commerce crossing over once again. This meant that they were able to settled in Elpida and initiating what would become the Lewis Nations, holding up to a third of the Human population in the Universe to this day.

The Initiative meant a massive improvement in technology and life support in colony ships as well as exploration and wormhole technology that is used to this day. The Abeona Initiative set the tone for the Lewis Nation in a patriotic pride of Humanity that has shaped the policies of most Lewis Nations. A thrive to survive in the cosmos has always been key to them as well.
