Overview

Auralia, also referred to as Rubia is an average-sized federation-controlled terrestrial planet orbiting in the Garphina System of the Anthrovian Cosmos in the Palioxis Starfield. Auralia is filled to brim with all variations of life, with even the most extreme environments such as the deep-sea harboring rich and diverse ecosystems of flora and fauna.

Auralia is the current Capital of Nature of the federation. This term refers to a planet which is incredibly diverse and has been noted by the federation. Each century, a new Capital of Nature is voted. Last century, the Capital of Nature was Survus, which came in first, rivaling Aizawa.

Only two major moons orbit Auralia, as it's hill sphere is fairly small compared to far larger planets. These are Denia and Darkel, each of which are empty terrestrial moons remotely mined from Auralia. Pretty much all of the resources are imported to Auralia and other planets in the Garphina System. These resources are then used to expand the infrastructure in the Garphina System, such as constructing cities on planets and moons, or building vast megastructures in deep space.

Despite how much Auralia is beloved by it's inhabitants today, the aforementioned inhabitants did not appear to care about the planet's overall statues in the past, allowing artificial climate change to run rampant for hundreds of years, deforesting many life-filled forests, causing countless species to go extinct, and pushing the planet's resources to the very brink. Despite this, many residents would ultimately be able to repair the harm done by their forefathers, and they would do everything they could to maintain Auralia as it was many millennia before, including slowing the natural process of continental shifting.

Auralia is considerably more lively and welcoming than it was in past millenia due to the population fall of most of the major cities. Every building, house, and city must have little plants or grass growing around it and on its grounds. There were even a few cities that were cut off from the rest of the world and abandoned.

Rubrian System

The Rubrian System is an extensive system of life-filled caverns situated below the surface of the continent of Valios, slightly extending below the aquatic expanses of the Neida Ocean. The Rubian System is used as a faster way of travel than other conventional means for the Calinen species. Many comfortable, electricity-powered minecarts run throughought most of the caverns, controlling various major cities and landmarks on the Valios continent.

Virtually no artificial lights are needed if one was to traverse the Rubrian System, as nearly all of the flora and fauna utilizes bioluminescence. Many bioluminescent crystals have also been discovered inside the Rubrian System. Some of the crystals possess unique abilities, such as conducting electricity or healing many wounds by directly rebuilding skin cells.

The Rubian System lies many hundreds of kilometers below the surface of Auralia, and is made out of more than a hundred distinctive caverns of all sizes. Typically, each cavern is around five kilometers in height. Nearly all of these extensive caverns are interconnected by a complex system of tight cave systems.

Rubrian System possesses a singular vast ecosystem which has risen and sprawled across the extensive system of caverns. As stated above, all life utilizes bioluminescence as a way to either observe or help others observe the surroundings. This specialized yet common trait indicates that life most likely leaked into the caverns from the outside, and did not start within the caverns themselves. If life were to evolve purely within the caverns, the organisms would most likely have adapted to the darkness in a far more different way.

Auralia has a moon system with two spherical satellites that are minor yet massive enough to be spherical. Denia and Darkel, the two moons, are said to be identical since they are both covered in a pristine surface of water-ice and diverse concentrations of metallic ores. These moons are primarily used for mining various resources. Many of the mining stations on these moons are operated remotely by operators on Auralia's surface, which reduces travel time and costs for the employees.

As of today, a hundred and four cities have been constructed on the lush surface of Auralia. Twenty-seven of these cities are metropolises, spanning many hundreds of kilometers across and housing populations in many millions. Eleven subterranean cities have also been constructed in the recent past.

The planet acquires the bulk of it's electricity by many massive solar farms situated in low orbit around Auralia. Another fairly large chuck of the energy also comes from the clean, renewable energy sources such as wind and safe fusion. A tiny fraction of the energy is from geothermal processes in the Auralia's mantle and outer core, while the rest come from buildings themselves.

Many thousands of rotating habitats surround Auralia and it's medium-sized hill-sphere. These rotating habitats are mainly fed by low gravity space farms, carefully designed to be as efficient as possible. These rotating habitats pale in comparison of the vast space stations that orbit Auralia. These space stations depend on imported resources from the surface of Auralia, and oftentimes contain populations in many millions. Various services are also offered to starship pilots. These include repairing, refueling, ship outfitting, and much more.

Climate

The climate of Auralia is one of the most diverse in the entire Garphina System. It's environment varies depending on which region of the planet one is, with some parts hot enough to create boiling jungles and others frigid enough to create mazes of glaciers. Each region of Auralia has a unique biosphere able to support a variety of flora and fauna.

The weather of Auralia is very consistent, with a rainfall rate of around a thousand milliliters per year, which is about typical for a world like Auralia. However, this rises to upwards of one thousand two hundred milliliters at the equator and falls to fewer than one thousand milliliters near the poles. As a result of this diversity, the types of forests found across the world range from tropical rainforests near the equator to taiga woods near the poles. There is never enough cold for snow or ice to develop.

The planet's people also keep this environment under check by employing artificial climate generators to maintain a desirable temperature and climate in various sections of the world. These climate generators have also made Auralia more hospitable to life than it was previously.

Biology & Ecology

Auralia has many incredibly diverse and lush ecosystems of both flora and fauna. All of the life on Auralia breathes in the air on the planet and breathes out a mixture of hydrogen and argon. This life is primarily carbon-based, like most life in the universe. Only a handful of silicon-based organisms are found roaming Auralia, the bulk of which reside in many subterranean or deep-sea ecosystems. All organisms on Auralia use water as their solvent, as it is extremely common on Auralia.

The shallow-water aquatic ecosystem contains of primarily many coral-like organisms concentrated in vast hundreds of kilometers wide coral reefs near the shores. These vast coral reefs are home to more than eighty percent of the marine lifeforms on Auralia, from bioluminescent jellyfish to majestic aquatic apex predators. Many kelp forests are also common, mostly in the forms of inland bodies of water such as rivers or lakes. Auralia's deep ocean is a one-of-a-kind habitat. Life has developed quite differently in the deeper depths due to the lack of daylight. In these deep places, bioluminescence is a regular occurrence. Because energy is scarce and valuable at these depths, most life glides through the sea motionless, only moving when escaping or fighting.

The terrestrial organisms make up the bulk of the lifeforms on Auralia, with over half of them being terrestrial. A high amount of these terrestrial animals are mammalians of all shapes and sizes. Many of them being prey species while others are more predatorial species. Reptilian organisms typically tend to inhabit landmasses near the poles of Auralia, and are in similar diversity to the mammalian species. The least common types of terrestrial organisms are various amphibians, which only make their home in wet environments such as swamps and marshes, which are not as common on Auralia as other biomes such as forests and grasslands. Plant-life is exceedingly common on the surface of Auralia, with there being virtually no part that does not harbor any plants. Many of these plants are commonly eaten by herbivorous creatures, while others have evolved to defend themselves. Near the equator, many dense rainforests and jungles and found, with the amount of plant-life decreasing the farther one ventures from the poles. Near many landmasses near the poles of Auralia, plant-life and also-animal life is much more sparse than on other regions of the planet.

Many aerial species tend to reside near the equator, while on the poles the aerial organisms tend to become more uncommon. These aerial species range from reptiles to avians of all types. While the aerial species primarily evolved from various reptiles, not many aerial reptiles have survived the process of extinction. Avian lifeforms such as birds, however, make up the primary part of the aerial ecosystem. Many aerial species also tend to be partially aquatic, diving into the sea to catch their prey.

Sapient Species

Calinen is a species of sapient bipedal mammalian carbon-based organisms primarily residing on the continent of Valios, with a handful of remote civilizations on the other continents. The calinens have become technologically advanced and are on the brink of becoming a type 0.5 species. After discovering electricity in the last decade, the Calinen have evolved to greatly use it to their advantage, even having developed their very first motor vehicles this year.

While the Calinen have acknowledged that their world is being colonized by much more advanced species, they are fully supportive of it. The Calinen have become very interested in the advanced technology the federation is using, and even have sparked an interest in joining the nation itself, with the plan to join it by this decade. While the species would not have any power within the nation, the federation would protect and/or help their species whenever needed.

Calinen: Physical

Calinen are bipedal, bilaterally symmetrical beings with a front and rear end, as well as an upside and downside. Their bodies are made up of a torso that is linked to a head and four limbs. The upper limbs, known as arms, culminate in six-fingered hands, while the lower limbs, known as legs, terminate in feet. Calinen fingers feature numerous points of articulation, including an opposable thumb that allows for precise environmental manipulation. Last but not least, they have a single head positioned atop their torso.

In comparison to other mammalian species, the Calinen has almost minimal body hair, with the majority of it remaining on the chest and scalp and just a few individuals, generally males, having considerable quantities of hair throughout the remainder of the face and body. Calinen skin tones range from dark red to pale, with milder hues in between. Calinen eyes might be blue, green, or brown in color. Calinens with purple or even red eyes can be found on rare occasions. Calinens are a bit under 1.95 meters tall on average.

The Calinen are able to observe their environment thanks to the pair of sideward-facing eyes that are mounted near the front of their head. These eyes, however, can only see a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum, similar to Humans. Calinen also possess exceptionally sensitive noses, which they are able to use to track even the footprints of various animals.

Native Resources

Electrodite Crystal: Overview

Electroditium Cavenia, the only place in which naturally formed Electrodite Crystals are found.

Electrodite Crystal is the second most common resource present exclusively in the extensive Rubrian System, and one of the many crystal types only found within the aforementioned system of caverns. Electrodite Crystals are only found in a single specific tight cavern called Electroditium Cavenia.

Electrodite Crystals manifest the unique ability to conduct a high amount of pure electricity, as done by the plentiful cell-like organisms that inhabit Electrodite Crystals. Only a single Electrodite Crystal has the power to produce over ten thousand gigawatts of electricity per single Auralian day.

Electrodite Crystal: Usage

Electrodite Crystals are primarily used by the Calinen race inhabited the Valios continent. The electrical current generated by the Electrodite Crystals and the discovery of it this decade is the primary reason to the incredibly fast advancement of the Calinen species. Large buildings containing many Electrodite Crystals have been built across the cities of Valios. These vast structures would then relay the electricity to power entire cities with ease.

Scainor Crystal: Overview

Found only in the deepest of the caverns in the Rubrian System, the Scainor Crystal is the rarest resource native to Auralia, and one of the many crystals native to the Rubrian System that manifest various unique abilities.

Scainor Crystals in specific have to ability even the most dangerous wounds if touched by it. Scainor Crystals do this by rebuilding and duplicating the skin cells of the wounded person, effectively getting rid of the wound in the matter of minutes.

Scainor Crystal: Usage

The unique wound-healing effects of Scainor Crystals has been noted by the Calinen race inhabiting the continent Valios, which the Scainor Crystals are located below. As for their rarity, one has to be exceedingly rich to personally own one. However, many hospital structures possess many of these Scainor Crystals in storage. The treatment of wounds, by Scainor Crystals, fatal or not, has been made free.

History

Formation

Auralia formed from the planetary accretion disk created from the formation of it's parent stars of Garphina A and B, in 4,750,000,000 BCE. As it formed, the planet was a hot hell world completely covered in massive fields of molten lava and magma. However in 4,600,000,000 BCE, an ancient planet around six thousand kilometers in diameter nicknamed Cholinia collided with Auralia, shattering the former and causing massive amounts of debris to be blown into orbit around Auralia. This orbital debris would eventually coalesce and form two three moons named Denia, Obia and Darkel respectively. This event also caused the planet to tilt on its axis about twenty degrees, causing the planet to experience four distinct seasons.

Auralia would enjoy the company of three moons for several millions of years, however in 4,490,000,000 BCE, the smaller of the two moons, Obia, began to have its orbit around the planet slowed by its sister-moon Denia, and it would begin to drift towards the aforementioned body, eventually colliding with it. Then on, Obia would be ultimately torn apart from this event.

Throughout the remainder of the 4,000,000,000 BCEs, many rocky asteroids filled with water collided with the planet, slowly cooling down the planet and leading to massive amounts of water vapor to enter within the atmosphere and form thick clouds. These aforementioned clouds would begin to create massive amounts of rain to fall from the sky, creating a global ocean and turning the Auralia into a hot oceanic planet. In the following millions of years, volcanoes began to spew out massive amounts of materiel, forming the landmasses that would soon become the planet's continents, changing Auralia entirely.

Evolution of Life

In 3,500,000,000 BCE, life began to appear in the planet's oceans. These lifeforms were simple single-celled organisms feeding off of hydrothermal vents deep within the ocean. However they would slowly begin to replicate itself and evolve into more complex multicellular organisms, ultimately leading to the event known as the Aeros Explosion in around 575,000,000 BCE.

Life would continue to evolve into even more forms of complex life, with life being able to inhabit the lands by 380,000,000 BCE. The planet would be absolutely teeming with life, inhabiting all landmasses on the world. Until unfortunately, in 252,000,000 BCE, an event known as the Aeros Extinction caused more then 42% of all life on the planet to be eradicated by massive volcanic forces, turning the entire landscape of the supercontinent into a volcanic ocean, killing all life that inhabited it.

However, one of the few remaining families of fauna known as the Terefroian would begin to rise from the ashes of the world, ultimately evolving into what would become to be species of massive amphibians species known as Giliaenios in 245,000,000 BCE. Giliaenios would rule the planet for millions of years, spreading themselves across the whole of the planet. However they too would face destruction when a massive asteroid around seventy-five kilometers in diameter collided with the planet, wiping out all known forms of Giliaenios.

As the Giliaenios went extinct, various mammalian organisms rose from the ashes, taking their place as the dominant lifeforms. By a relatively short timescale, mammalian organisms were the primary type of fauna inhabiting the vast forests of Auralia. As they continued to propagate themselves, what would become to be known as the Primate would evolve in 25,000,000 BCE. Primates would have the advantage of opposable thumbs, allowing easy manipulation of the environment around them.

Throughout even more millions of years, certain primate species began to evolve to walk upright, eventually becoming completely bipedal in 4,000,000 BCE. Along with the new posture, select primate species began to evolve larger brains, causing them to remember key things about their environment, as well as the manipulation of simple tools by 3,000,000 BCE, and the manipulation of fire in 1,500,000 BCE. And by 200,000 BCE, they learned the first forms of language, causing the evolution of what we would come to know as the intelligent species of Calinen.

Early Calinen History

By the year 85,000 BC, the Calinen had expanded throughout the whole Valios continent, occupying the majority of it in bigger and larger groups of people. These people would ultimately create the first Calinen societies, and each would have a different size of territory and technical skills.Some Calinen tribes would discover how to produce vast swaths of farmland, providing ample food for their individual populations. Others learnt to tame various animals on their home planet, such as Zelpes, to allow them to cross the terrain far more quickly than they could otherwise. By 85,500 BCE, Zelpe travel had become a widespread technology across Calinen cultures, allowing people to cross their continent considerably more quickly than ever before.

Metals like bronze and iron would also become widespread among Calinen cultures, allowing them to manufacture far more lasting tools while also improving production. Unfortunately, as would become typical among the species, many battles would be fought by various Calinen civilizations for a variety of causes, the most prevalent of which would be the development of their own empires, with some seeking to conquer the whole known planet. The Valios Empire, which ruled virtually the whole Valios continent at its peak, was the most successful civilization of the period.

The Calinen species united themselves under a singular civilization named Valio Empireus in 90,504 CE. This nation would then on civilize most of the Valios continent plus nearby islands and archipelagos such as the Farasian Islands and Rosian Archipelago. By that time, the Calinen thought that their entire world was a singular large landmass surrounded by a singular infinite ocean filled with islands. This world view would soon be demolished by the discovery of Kalian continent by sailors. Only a handful of colonies were constructed on the newly discovered continent, as the place where the primary colony was build, named the Farlands Shore, was inhabited by a highly dangerous predator species that went on to destroy the entire colony. The Calinen likely shied away from colonizing other landmasses after this loss.

Late Calinen History

By the 90th century of the 99th millennium, the Calinen species discovered the first entrance the vast and extensive Rubrian System. As the expansionist species the Calinen are, many scouts were sent deep inside the caverns, many of which never returned. The survivors, however, were the first generation that had observed the Rubrian System in all it's glory. The Calinen swiftly expanded into the Rubrian System, and in a matter of a decade, established temporary outpost in these caverns. Nearly all of these outposts were eventually destroyed, likely by the huge predatorial species in the extensive system of caverns.

Many permanent settlements were built in the far safer, upper layers of the Rubrian Systems. This expansion saw the discovery of a relatively tight cavern that contained Electrodite Crystals at the near-end of 99th century. Calinen quickly learned about electricity and it's usage, and began utilizing it in various technologies. This triggered the Innovation Era for the Calinen, and innovation reached it's peak at the time.
