Physical Description

Descended from Earth's own Troodon species, this race of bipedal and mammalian organisms are now the dominant race of Eeyttir. They have three fingers, one resembling a thumb. They have three toes on their strong hind legs and they still possess a tail. Their heads are more rounded than their ancestors and their eyes now face more forward as they had to evolve to become hunters on their new world. Their languages have all resembled bird song.

Over 66 million years ago on Earth, an unknown species of dinosaur gained sapience and began their own civilization near the equatorial regions on Earth. The records from the only remaining colony vessel in orbit around Dragtar as it had suffered suffered major damage due to asteroid impacts and solar flares. There aren't even records of this mysterious civilization's appearance, but records show that they had small interplanetary colonies on Mars and in Venus' atmosphere before the event that brought about their extinction.

When this mysterious civilization discovered the asteroid that would cause the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event, they began hurriedly constructing massive generation ships to carry all non-sentient life on their world towards the stars in the hopes that one of the species would gain sentience. It's unknown why this first species on Earth refused to leave, but it's hypothesized they were engaged in many bitter wars among their own kind and chose to commit suicide rather than spread their warlike ways across the stars. A handful of these dinosaur sapients were placed in cold storage hibernation on the colony fleet in order to help terraform and settle any world the ships found. The fleet was launched a few years before the mass extinction event.

The fleet wandered, with their caretakers being woken every time a hopeful new planet was discovered. Finally, 7 million years ago, the fleet was placed in orbit of a perfectly suitable homeworld for the species on the ship. The dinosaur sapients helped establish the life on the ships onto the planet before destroying themselves and their ships save for their largest and most sturdy ship, which they hoped any sapients that evolved on the planet would discover.

The Conyth gained sentience over 6.5 million years from their Troodon cousins and began settling in the northern regions of the planet. As is the case with most sapient species, the new species started evolving larger and more complex brains. The Conyth first achieved sapience three million years ago.

The Conyth began to develop a primitive form of agriculture. Due to the world having one massive landlocked ocean and two smaller freshwater seas, most of the proto-cities existed only around freshwater lakes and landocked freshwater oceans. By this time they'd also evolved the ability to become omnivorous. They set up large fishing towns as well as farming villages. Around 100,000 BCE, the first major civilizations began to appear around the more fertile areas.

As with most civilizations on Earth, the Conyth were a violent and warlike species, fighting for the best land and supplies along with holy wars. As their technology grew, so did the means of killing. By the year 3000 CE the planet had reached a medieval level of technology, but had barely seen any of their world due to it being mostly a thick forest. However, as time went on, their violent tendencies began to slowly grow less. They began to focus more on developing the technology to reach the sky and stars.

In the year 3521 CE, the Conyth made their first journey to their moon and Driio Fal became the first Conyth to set foot on another world. They returned nine times before setting up a permanent research station on the lunar surface.

in 3569 they sent a probe to the fifth planet in the system, a gas giant they'd named Felda. They discovered that the gas giant itself was full of unusual lifeforms. This discovery pushed forward their development of their own version of warp drive. On August 1, 3581, they successfully tested a warp capable ship, and this was when they came into contact with the UFSS. Diplomatic relations were soon established and the Conyth and Humans have remained staunch allies ever since. Currently there are over 100 billion Conyth in the galaxy, 12.5 billion located on their homeworld.
