"Let it be known that Haven is home to all looking for refuge. Though we have strayed far from our Earth , the powers that be have granted us Earth 's untouched sibling. Let us learn from the failings of our forefathers. Let us protect our new Earth "-Lakarda Lakvan''

Haven is the fourth planet of the Hope System located in the Ambrosia Galaxy. It is a temperate E-Class world with life covering its entire surface. It served as the home world of the Havenite species and the Havenite Republic, and was also capital of the Human Alliance of Ambrosia.

It now serves as humanity's capital in the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems

Overview[]

Haven was named by the first humans who arrived, as its original name has been lost to the ages. It is a planet teeming with life, millions of lifeforms unicellular, and multicellular, marine and terrestrial. One of those life forms that was housed by the planet was the Havenite species, an intelligent species that would later become a mid type two civilization.

It has served as one of the most important worlds in the whole of modern Ambrosian history, as it is the capital world of humanity, the extra-galactic species that would begin reshaping Ambrosia with the founding of the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems.

Haven is remarkably Earth -like, its foliage are like what you'll find in temperate regions on Earth with trees, grass, flowers, and the like. Its atmosphere can also house humans and other Earth species naturally.

The planet wasn't always as it appears today, during the Etymology Era Haven was covered in warm deserts and a single ocean dividing the land in half. However after it was: "destroyed" by the C.Y.R.E.X it gradually cooled and eventually became the world we see today.

Haven Flag

The official flag of planet Haven. The three stars represent it's historical periods as well as the planet's importance to Ambrosian History. The top star represents the Ancient Era of Haven, when the Havenites ruled over the planet. The middle represents the Peace Era of the planet, when the C.Y.R.E.X set the world ablaze and allowed new life to flourish. And the final star stands for the current status of Haven as the capital of humanity in the Ambrosia Galaxy. The stripes personifies the Rings of Harmony, and the pine tree does the same for the dense forests found around the planet.

It would later serve as the safe haven for the human colonists of the Ambrosia Traveler. Haven is one of the most important planets in all of Ambrosia's galactic history. Haven has served as humanity's capital in Ambrosia ever since they entered the galaxy. As such, it is has the largest human population of any colonized body humans occupy in the galaxy.

Due to its importance to Ambrosian history, as well as human identity in Ambrosia, numerous conflicts have been waged within its borders for control over the world, however so far both the planet and the rest of the Hope System as remained firmly in control by the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems. Along with internal conflicts, Haven and the wider Hope System has been involved in several larger intragalactic war, though thankfully the planet so far has remained untouched from major damages.

Geography[]

"And there I saw her. Her seas so blue, her grass so green. Her red rings dimly illuminated by Ambrosia's amaranth hue. I saw this, our new Earth , in a place so far from home." -Lakarda Lakvan

Haven's tectonic plates are very active, as the planet's silicate core has remained as active as the moment it fully formed, and thanks to this, the planet houses seven continents similar to planet Earth . In order they are: Zazriel, Barquiel, Rahmiel, Cerviel, Pathiel, Ruhiel, and Vanriel. Although the two continents' of Rahmiel and Cerviel haven been heavily disputed as many people say they are apart of the same tectonic plate, nicknaming the two of them: "Duraphiel," though this is not considered offically. Each of these continents contains massive populations, filled with tens of billions of individuals, even dwarfing entire colony worlds in their own right.

And each of these continents are divided by the twin oceans, Geilda, in the north, and Lakarda, in the south. Each of these oceans were named after the two individuals whom headed the: "Great Expansion" project that lead humans to planet Haven, and the wider Ambrosia Galaxy, Lakarda Lakvan and Geilda Lakvan respectively.

Haven Map (3)

Map of Haven.

Along with the similarity towards Earth in her continents, Haven's overall landscape and geography is almost that of an exact mirror image of the Earth , with the same amount of geodiversity in the myriad of biomes that are spread amongst its respective landmasses, though the majority of the planet's landscape consists of massive temperate forests comprised of the countless species of flora that exist on Haven.

Along with the endless woodlands and jungles, Haven is covered with snow-capped mountain ranges, cold taigas, frozen wastelands, scorched deserts, arid badlands, and massive swamps that stench for millions of kilometres.

Astrographical[]

"Speak to me again, about the fair maiden Haven. Her beautiful locks of verdant greens and blue. Her crimson-ringed dress of harmonious silk. Her fair skin of fertile enchantment. I give thanks to the fair maiden Haven, for she is the land who would herald our kind to our new amaranth realm of wonders."

Haven is located in the center of the: "Hope Sector," a region of the Mid Arm comprising the first one thousand star systems in theto be colonized by humanity.

Remarkably, this area of space is filled to the brim with life inhabited worlds, with around forty percent of its respective star systems holding at least one world with some form of life. There doesn't seem to be any exact reason why this is the case.

Climate[]

Haven experiences an extremely varied climate, with each region of the planet holding its own unique climate and like most E-Class worlds, Its climate is varied depending on each hemisphere, with areas warm enough to creating boiling deserts, while others are cold enough to create mazes of icebergs.

On the majority of landmasses situated across the relative center of the planet, a very temperate climate is experienced, allowing for massive forests filled with countless forms of flora and fauna to stretch for endless kilometres.

While towards the southern and northern poles of the planet, an endless bitter winter exists across millions of kilometres, freezing all those who are not accustomed to its chill.

Its atmosphere is primarily comprised of rich amounts of oxygen, with it comprising around eighty percent of the entire atmosphere, leading to the planet's piercing sapphire-blue coloring. This thick atmosphere has allowed millions of different lifeforms to develop all across the planet, and has also allowed any life suited for it to exist on the surface as well, such as those you would find on Earth , Haven's closest analogue.

Other gases that make up the planet's atmosphere are hydrogen, which almost makes up the remainder, with trace elements of nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide filling it out.

Major Moons[]

Harmony 3

Harmony from space before it was destroyed.

Harmony (formerly)[]

Harmony was the original first and largest major moon of Haven, as it formed from the majority of the debris created during an ancient impact event between Haven and another Hopeian planet. Harmony itself was a large O-Class world, with a global salt-water ocean extending across its entire surface, though unlike Haven, it did not hold any native life. It was an object of great religious reverence for the native Havenites, viewing the moon as the heavenly realm where the gods of the oceans resided.

Most famously, Harmony would be destroyed by Haven's gravity as the moon encroached towards, forming the planet's ring system: "The Rings of Harmony," and without it showering the planet with with precocious water, its unlikely Haven would have become the nexus for life it is today, making the moon a very important symbol to those who reside on Haven.

Hearth[]

Hearth 3

Hearth from space before becoming a Ecumenopolis

Before the destruction of Harmony, the second moon from Haven was Hearth. Now serving as the first major moon of the Haven System, Hearth is a small S-Class world with an ancient rocky surface, orbiting Haven at a distance of around thirty thousand, seven hundred and thirty one kilometers from Haven's surface.

Despite its small size however, Hearth has an absolutely massive population of four billion individuals, as the moon has been transformed into a large Ecumenopolis by the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems. making the moon's uniform geography one massive urban metropolis, under a large artificial atmosphere created from a massive dome surrounding the whole off the moon's diameter.

Viridi Greater 3

Viridi Greater as it appears today.

Viridi Greater[]

Viridi Greater was originally the seventh planet of the Hope System, but as the native humans of Haven began to fully colonize the various other worlds of the star system, they would move Viridi Greater in orbit around Haven, turning it into the second respective moon  As they did, the icy surface of the former dwarf planet would melt, covering the planet in a global ocean, and as the green-colored ice melted, it formed an oxygen-rich emerald atmosphere, giving the now moon its name. Though it orbits Haven farther away then Hearth, due to its greater size, both it and its companion satellite of Viridi Lesser appear larger in Haven's skies.

It, like its sister-moon of Hearth, holds a fairly large population of around five hundred and eighty million individuals, though unlike other worlds in the Hope System, it is not primarily inhabited by humans. Instead, the many aquatic member species of the Ambrosia Alliance make up the majority of its population, creating massive underwater cities across it respective sea-floor. Those humans and other terrestrial species that do call the moon home live upon massive floating metropolis, sailing along the moon's emerald waters, as well as a few cities floating in its upper atmosphere.

Viridi Lesser[]

Viridi Lesser 3

Viridi Lesser from space as it appears today.

Viridi Lesser, as it name implies, originally served as a moon of Viridi Greater during its independent history, forming a dual-planet system with it. And much alike its companion, Viridi Lesser would be taken from its original orbital position to become a moon of Haven, and as it did, it too would have its icy surface melting, forming an endless global ocean and a green, albeit more placid colored atmosphere.

However, though considered a moon of Haven, Viridi Lesser in fact orbits its lager sibling, technically making it a moon of Viridi Greater, or as better known a: "Companion satellite." Like its two sister-moons, Viridi Lesser has a fairly large population, though it holds the lowest population count of any of the major moons, with a population of around three hundred million individuals. This population live on the countless large cities across its global ocean, along with a few in above its jade clouds.

Haven's Ring[]

Haven's Ring 3

Haven's Ring from space.

Haven's Ring, while technically orbiting the closest to Haven out of all satellites around the planet, is officially considered to be the fourth major moon of Haven due to it being an artificial satellite. It is an average sized ring-world molded directly after the planet it orbits, with its overall geography and climate being a mirror image of it.

It has the highest population of any of the moons of Haven, with a massive population of around five billion individuals, due to the ring being able to host them. Across its artificial continents are countless massive cities, small idyllic villages, as well as massive floating colonies across its oceans, on the sea floor, and across its artificial skies.

Dwarf Moons[]

Anidelia

Anidelia from space.

Anidelia[]

Anidelia is the first dwarf moon of Haven, and second natural satellite from her. It would form from the small clouds of debris that were not used in the formation of Harmony and Hearth. It is a small rock comprised primarily of iron, silver, and silicate, with a diameter of fifteen kilometers and a surface area of around two thousand three hundred kilometers squared.

It holds the colony of Cuwa, a large underground colony that burrows through the entire volume of the dwarf moon, turning the asteroid into a miniature Ecumenopolis, allowing for a population of around one hundred thousand individuals, much more then the asteroid would be able to support on its actual surface, and many would live within the rock due to the extremely low housing prices. Here, houses, business, and social service buildings are built on top of each other in a spiral pattern, with the populace making use of massive elevators to traverse the colony's respective sections.

Onoei

Onoei from space.

Onoei[]

Onoei is the second dwarf moon of Haven, and the fifth natural satellite from the planet, and much alike its sister-moon of Anidelia, Onoei would form from a small clouds of debris during the impact event that formed the more impressive moons of the Haven System. It is small asteroid comprised primary of granite, with trace amounts of iron, with a diameter of twelve kilometers, and a surface area of around one thousand two hundred kilometers squared.

Despite its similar size to Andellia, due to the lack of many precious resources, Onoei lacked any major colony, however in 10,413 CE, a select group of humans requested to constructed a small colony on the asteroid, setting up the small colony of: Waltz named after the orbital dance of Haven and her moons. It hasa minuscule population of around nine-hundred individuals, and while this colony doesn't serve any particle purpose, many enjoy the view of Haven and her moons experienced on the dwarf moon's surface, as all the moons can be visible due to the dwarf moon's distance from Haven, making the tiny moon a fairly popular tourist destination.

Ariuk

Ariuk from space.

Ariuk[]

Ariuk is the third dwarf moon of Haven, and the first irregular satellite of Haven. Unlike Anidellia and Onoei, Ariuk did not form from the collision event that formed Haven's original. Instead, Ariuk would be captured from the Hope Asteroid Belt by Haven's own gravity, placing the small asteroid in orbit around two hundred and twenty-six thousand, six hundred and eighty-seven kilometers away from the planet. It has the most unique appearance of any of the four dwarf moons in orbit around Haven as it was not formed from the same material, it is a sun-bleached grey rock of jagged sharp dust, with very few precocious resources, save for small deposits of silver.

Its capture seems to have be observed by the Havenites, as the small moon holds many Havenite ruins across its dead rocky surface, remarkably well preserved, thanks to the thick dust on Ariuk's surface. Thanks to the moon's small surface already being over inhabited by ruins, no major human colony has been established on the dwarf moon, however small research outposts have been constructed to research the many ruins, along with a few observatories, due to the moon's optimal position in the Hope System.

Usiu[]

Usiu

Usiu from space.

Usiu is the fourth dwarf moon, and the final and furthest satellite of planet Haven. Like Ariuk before it, Usiu did not originally form from any event in Haven's history, and instead, was a comet that was unbound to collide with the planet in 10,270 CE. This comet was massive enough as to if it had made impact with Haven, all life currently existing on the planet would be destroyed, but thanks to human intervention, it would be placed in orbit around Haven, turning it into the planet's eighth respective satellite, it is twenty six kilometers wide, and as a surface area of around three thousand kilometers squared, making it the largest dwarf moon in orbit around Haven.

It holds one large colony, named: "Defiance," as a less-then subtle slight towards the asteroid, it would operate much alike the one on Anidelia, burrowing all across the full volume of the asteroid. Thanks to its size, it holds the largest population of any of the dwarf moons in the Haven System, with a population of around three hundred thousand individuals.

Rings[]

Haven Rings Map

The Rings of Harmony labeled.

Haven has four rings circling around the planet, named the Rings of Harmony by the original inhabitants. The Rings of Harmony were created when an ancient moon of Haven, nicknamed: "Harmony," entered the planet's roche limit, tearing the moon a part in 600,070,000 BCE, thus forming the rings we see today. The rings themselves are mostly made up of iron rich rock, as Harmony's original core was almost entirely made of iron, this has given each ring a distinctive red coloring.

Countless outposts have been established on various objects within the rings, with some of the largest functioning as miniature colony's, complete with their own respective laws and cultures, however the majority of outposts established are used to assist with things planetside, such as weather patterns and communication.

Each ring that makes up the Rings of Harmony have been given its own respective name, with each being a word for: "harmony" in various human languages.

Ring Harmonia

Close up view of the Ring Harmonia.

Ring Harmonia[]

The first and largest ring of Harmony, the Ring Harmonia is a massive thick ring of rock debris that orbits Haven in an encircling line of around fifty thousand kilometers squared. It is the most dense region of the Rings of Harmony, with most objects in the ring only orbiting at an average distance of around one hundred kilometers from each other, but as Haven's gravity keeps the debris in orbit, they do not collide with each other very often, despite their close proximity.

The largest outpost is also located in the Ring of Harmonia: "Crimson Point," located on the largest known piece of debris on the whole of Haven's ring system. Crimson Point functions like your typical colony, holding a population of around twenty five thousand and a surface area of around forty-eight kilometers squared.

Ring Armonia[]

Ring Armonia

Close up view of the Ring Armonia.

The second ring from Haven is the Ring Armonia. It, while holding a shorter diameter then the Ring of Harmonia, is still an impressive ring, spanning a distance of around thirty-eight kilometers squared. The orbital debris within this ring are fairly sparsely placed, with an average distance between them being around one thousand five hundred kilometers. However, the orbital debris that makes up the composition of the ring are the largest and thickest of all the rings, making it appear larger and more bold from space.  It also serves as the only other ring to have inhabited outposts, though these are mostly just research stations with only small handfulls of people living on them.

Ring Concordia

Close up view of the Ring Concordia.

Ring Concordia[]

The third respective ring of Haven, the Ring Concordia is the only ring to not have formed from the destruction of the moon Harmony. Instead, many micrometeorite impacts upon debris located in the Ring of Armonia eventually formed a distinctive ring of small and thin dust. As a result, the Ring Concordia is both the thinnest and smallest ring, only consisting of small dust particles around the size of a pebble.

Ring Garmoniya[]

Ring Garmoniya

Close up view of the Ring Garmoniya.

The fourth and final ring, the Ring Garmoniya is the longest of the four rings, spanning an area of around two thousand kilometres squared, as well as having the second most dense population of debris, at an average distance between objects being around two hundred and fifty kilometers squared. Unlike the other rings, the debris of Garmoniya is mostly slate rock, lacking the rich iron its sister rings have in spades, leaving the ring almost invisible next to the blackness of space. Here, the remainder of outposts are located, and much alike the Ring Armonia, these only operate as small research outposts and lack any inhabitants.

Continents[]

Zazriel

Orbital view of Zazriel

Zazriel: Overview []

Zazriel is the most temperate of Haven's seven continents, with massive tropical forests dominating the majority of the landscape, and vast deserts hugging along the ends of it. This aforementioned forest is an endless expanse of dense woodlands, misty marshlands, and drenched wetlands. The flora that makes up this endless forest is the many trees, flowers, vines, and grass organisms that are spread across the whole of Haven. It is also the most wet continent of Haven, thanks to massive rainstorms raging across it at least once per standard week of Haven's rotation. Massive fogs and mists often conceal most of the continent thanks to the commonality of rainfall that the forests are subjected to.

Its population is very large, even being larger then entire colony worlds, though despite this, it holds the lowest population count of the temperate continents of Haven, with a population of around five billion. The reason for this would be the continents geography, as the majorly of the landscape is made up of extremely dense woodlands, with very few flat landmasses to set up any form of stable city, and due to the harsh laws implemented by the Ambrosia Alliance on acts like deforestation and habitat destruction, those looking to establish any large settlements needs to work around the massive forests that dominant most of the landscape. As a result, many smaller settlements, like your typical village or town, have been established within key locations in the forest, made up of small communities of people, only in the low hundreds to high thousands in terms of population. Because of this, Zazriel is often referred to as the: "Village Continent" by those who live in the more populated continents, and those who live on the continent of Zazriel embrace this, as a sort of cultural identity, calling themselves the: "Forest Folk" of Haven.

The continent's major exports are more botanical in nature compared to the other continents, as very few large construction plants or refineries are on the surface. Thus, things like drinkable water and food are the continent's largest exports. The reason for this would be the sheer amount of freshwater on the continent's surface, with its twenty large lakes of fresh drinkable water, those species who live on Haven that rely on this form of water need a constant supply, a supply that the continent of Zazriel is more then capable of providing. While in the food department, the Zazriel forests are teeming with flora and fauna of countless varieties, as well as endless expanses of fertile soil to grow and raise the needed food supply.

Zazriel Landscape:[]

The largest region of the Zazrel Forest would be the so name: "One Wood" , and it is by far the most uniform region, with the only types of trees being of the: "Haven Pine" family. These trees are spread far and wide, and are extremely overpopulated, with trees upon trees growing on top and within each other, as if several forests were layered on top of one another. This forest also forms in a strange maze-like pattern, causing the casual foolhardy traveler to get easily lost within.

The One Wood holds three large cities, starting with the city of: "Yusuda", which is the largest city of the One Wood, and was also one of the first settlements of the Human Alliance of Ambrosia on planet Haven. It is located on the southernmost point of the One Wood. The next would be the city of: "Rose Wood" which shares its name, and overall pigment with the type of Haven Pine that it shares its name with. And finally, the city of: "Middle-Point", which is the smallest of the One Wood's respective cities, and, unsurprisingly, is located at the absolute middle of the aforementioned region.

In the northwest section of the Zazriel Forest, the: "Tancard Forest" can be found. This region shares its name with the trees that compose its respective woodlands, the: "Tancard's Staff" , in fact, they are exclusive to this region, not existing anywhere else on planet Haven. The tree gets its name from its discovery, a one: "William Tancard" A land surveyor and entrepreneur of Zazriel.

The Tancard Forest is a fairly large region, so much so that its the second largest of the Zazriel Forest, though it pales in comparison to the sheer size of the One Wood. Despite this however, it holds the largest city on the continent, the creatively named city of: "Tancard". Its so massive, it holds almost the entirety of the continent's population, with a population count of around three billion citizens.

In a certain area of the forest named: "Sila's Woods", the massive: "Wiega Tree" shoot up over three hundred feet in the air, making it very difficult to see the tree tops. The leaves of the Wiega Tree also act as a sort of canopy, blocking the light from Haven's parent star, Hope, and the other celestial objects that are spread across Haven's nighttime sky, in these areas. As a result, these areas have a similar light-level to late evening during Haven's planetary day, and complete darkness during its respective nighttime.

Due to the diminished sunlight that hits the surface of this area, those flora and fauna that make their home here rely on other methods of warming themselves, such as thick fur coats, or burrowing in the warmer underground. The various intelligent species of the Ambrosia Alliance that makes their home within the city of: "Dancing Wood", the only large settlement in Sila's Woods. Other small towns and villages are located in other areas of the woods, but for the most part, it has been largely untouched by any intelligent species. Above the planet's stratosphere during the planetary night, the artificial light produced by the city of Dancing Wood punctures through the massive leaves at the treetops, leaving a magnificent greenish blue glow illuminating all across it.

Towards the westernmost part of the forest, the: "Ceving Tree", famous for their snow-white coloring, is made more common. And this is shown in force in the area of: "Hevin Log" which is a large area of Ceving Trees that form in a figure-eight pattern. This area glows in a beautiful piercing white-gold light during the day, mystifying those who see it. As a result, this is one of the most popular tourist areas of the forest, as intragalatic sightseers want to experience the warm glow of the milky white tree tops wash across them.

This area holds the similarly colored city of: "Hevin", one of the largest cities in the region. This city is, unsurprisingly, famed for the white coloring of its massive buildings, making it appear as if they were all made in marble. Small villages hug the edges of the Hevin Log's woodlands, and towards the beaches as well.

At the northernmost point of the Zazriel Forest, lies the: "Zenasi Swamps." In this region, massive shallows and bog lands dominant the land all the way to the northern shores. The most common form of trees that makes its home here is the: "Rot-Wood" and the: "Mossmother" trees native to particular dank areas of planet Haven. These trees, while not standing very tall, have immensely long roots, that spread several kilometer underground. The native fauna of this region varies depending on the elevation in which they live. Certain burrowing animals have made their homes within these massive roots. While others make their home across the endless marshes.

This is by far the most damp area of the continent, with the ground made so tenuous due to constant rainfall. The mud that makes up the ground of the forest is known for swallowing any who do not cross it with extreme care. As a result, no formal colonies have been established there, say for a few outlaws making small outposts in areas of the swamp that can support them.

The continent is seemingly split in half by the: "Zazriel River", an absolutely massive river spanning the entire length of the continent from north to south, with ranging waters flowing from the Geilda Ocean that surrounds Zazriel, it is also connected to the large South Tancard river in the west.

As well as the Zazriel River, the continent is covered in massive fresh water lakes, spanning hundreds to thousands of kilometers. In total, there's around twenty individual lakes across the continent's temperate surface. The largest of these would be Lake Tancard, a large boy of water that famously takes the shape of a three sided pinwheel.

Massive mountain ranges dominant large expanses of the continent as well, with sections of the Zazriel Forest growing in-between the towering mountains. The largest mountain range within the continent of Zazriel would be the: "Maizana Mountain Range". This is a massive mountain range, pockmarked with thousands of individual mountains ranging in size from four hundred feet, to up to forty thousand feet tall, and due to the hazardous and random landscape of this mountain range, no colonies have been established there, instead leaving it as a natural wonder of Haven. Other mountain ranges on the continent would be the Tancard Mountain Range, Pheluna Mountain Range, and Zanasi Mountain Range. These mountain ranges are much the same as the aforementioned Maizana Mountain Range, but smaller in diameter.

The most desolate area of the continent would be the: "Flefor Wates". Named after the ancient Havenite city of the same name, this area would be a remnant of the C.Y.R.E.X's faithful extermination of all those who were on planet Haven during the Red Galaxy Event. The wastes themselves would be created thanks to the many nuclear power plants that were once spread amongst the massive city. As the C.Y.R.E.X artificially heated Haven's atmosphere, these power plants would exploded in a thousand nuclear fires, leaving an area of around five thousand kilometers squared a lifeless nuclear waste. As a result, no native Haven life, or Ambrosia Alliance species have laid claim to the area, as their are little to no natural resources there.

The continent is also home to many islands. The largest of which would be the island of: "Delatheim", a massive island of around four hundred kilometers squared. The Island's landscape consists of one massive, extremely flat desert, with very few hills or craters. It holds one large city, rather uncreatively named: "Delatheim City." This city almost stretches the entirety of the island, making its population very large. The reason for this would be the massive amounts of natural resources in Delatheim's underground, such as oil, silver, iron, and gold.

The second largest would be the island of: "Haveltheim" , with it only being slightly smaller then that of the largest island, Delatheiem, with a surface area of three hundred and ninety nine kilometers squared. Its landscape is one large forest, similar to the massive forest the main Zazriel landscape is primarily made up of. It holds one large city named: "Timber-Isle" which is situated at the southernmost point of the island, in the middle of dense foliage that form along the shoreline of the island.

More notable islands of Zazriel include the three islands of the rivers of Tancard, Athiel, and Delivant respectively. These relatively large islands share many commonalities. To start, they all sit in the relative middle of their respective rivers, with the long flowing waters of their home rivers ranging across them. Another would be the landscapes of these islands, as each, like the larger continent that surrounded them, were massive tropical forests with endless dense woodlands, marshes, and wetlands. that each holds a large city due to their proximity to fresh drinkable water. These cities are: "Flow-Haven" on the Tancard Isles. "Sidon-Artia" on the Athiel Island. And: "Thelargus" on the island of Delivant.

Islands and Archipelagos[]

Theltheim

Orbital view of The Isles of Theltheim.

Thelthiem: Overview []

Theltheim is the largest island of planet Haven, with a surface area of eight hundred and fifty thousand kilometers squared, it could easily be considered a continent in its own right if it only had the required tectonic plate to be classified as one. Though often referred to as a singular island, the Isles of Theltheim are actually made up of several islands, starting with the Upper and Lower Theltheim islands in the north and south. The Shattered Peninsula to the northwest. And finally the Auit-Islet in the Southwest.

Regardless, Theltheim is an impressive stretch of land, with an even more impressive geography. Large grass plains dominant major expanses of the isles, along with several large forests, valleys, cryo-volcanoes, and deserts. These wondrous natural sights are most likely the main cause for the islands relatively large population and settlement count in comparison to its size. In fact, the population of Theltheim is even larger then the entire continent of Zazriel just south of it, as the landscape of Theltheim is far less dynamic then the aforementioned continent, with very few large stretch's of deep forest, or massive mountain ranges.

Thanks to this massive population, Theltheim is one of the most economically, culturally, and socially active landmasses on Haven, making it the defacto eighth continent of the planet, despite the fact that it is not offically recognized as one. It has the highest sea traffic of any location on Haven as well, with countless ships leaving and entering the port cities of Formond and Arctic's Watch. Its exports range from foodstuffs and commercial goods, to precious resources such as gold, oil, steel, titanium, silver, and precious gems.

Theltheim: Landscape[]

The largest island of the isles is Upper Theltheim, with a surface area of around four hundred kilometers squared. It is a forested landscape filled with countless life forms. The largest of these forests is the: "Key Forest" a massive forest located on the eastern banks of the Key River primarily made up of trees of the Haven Oak and the Haven Pine families. Though this is one of the largest regions of the isles, due to the density of its respective woodlands, not many major colonies have been established there, with the largest of which being the town of: "Feilatin" which only has a population of around two hundred thousand, much smaller then the other large cities on the island. The Key Forest is notable for being the only place in the world where the flower: "Red Leaf" grows. Red Leaf, when grounded and ingested, is a highly dangerous and addictive drug, so much so that the Ambrosia Alliance has banned its use, though this doesn't stop all, leading to a large drug trafficking problem facing the forest.

The next largest forest would be the Mevothia Forest, located on the eastern banks of the Key River, facing the Geilda Ocean. Unlike the Key Forest, Mevothia has a very diverse range of trees that makes up the forests structural make up, such as Haven Oaks, Haven Pines, Weiga Trees, Amber Logs and so on. Here, the massive city of: "Sita-Artia" is located. This city holds a large population of around five million individuals, and is constructed upon a small mountain sharing the same name. The cities' layout is arranged like the spokes of a wheel, with a large encircling wall surrounding them. The city's respective districts slowly ascend the length of the mountain, with the capital building sitting upon the mountain's very peak.

Nestled between the two forests lies the: "Lavyinthos Valleys", a large expanse of small mountainous mounds with countless individual member mounds. On top of each of the mounds, as well as around them, massive forests filled with life, surrounding the entire valley. And like with the Key Forest, due to the density of its landscape, very few large colonies have been established there, with the largest ones being constructed on the outside of the valley, with only a few small towns and villages located in-between the mounds and within the forests that surround them. The largest colony that is considered to be apart of the Lavyinthos Valleys is the city of: "Land-Marrow" located just a standard week's walk from Sita-Artia.

Located on the north of the Lavyinthos Valleys lies the picturesque: "Silent Meadows." The Silent Meadows are a flat landscape, with a few small forests of Haven Pine trees located here and there, but what the real show-stopper here is the massive fields of flowers, such as the Sapphire and Ruby Blossoms, as well as countless others displaying all imaginable colors for thousands of kilometres. During Theltheim's respective winter, the Silent Meadows region is blanketed in thick snow thanks to it being carried from the nearby northern continent of Ruhiel, and her flowers wilt away. But as Hope's light returns to them come spring, the meadow becomes more colorful then a rainbow itself. Here, the next large city of Theltheim lies, the city of: "Arctic's Watch," due to the city's proximity to Ruhiel.

At the westernmost point of Upper Theltheim, lies the largest region of the island, the: "Radcan Flats" a massive flat expanse of grass, with very few dynamic surface features and forests. As such, it has become a haven for many grazing animals, eating the endless grass spread all across the region. Thanks to its geography, it holds the single largest city of the isles as well, the city of: "Radcan" with a population of around three billion. Radcan's layout is almost akin to that of a miniature Ecumenopolis, as it requires a massive amount of buildings to accommodate its growing population, with each respective neighborhood almost functioning as an entirely separate city.

In the north east, the Shattered Peninsula lies, an area of land with a surface area of around one hundred thousand kilometres squared. It is an endless expanse of flat desert, with very few interesting geographical features, save for a few mounds here and there, and the occasional forest of Telkeit. However, what it lacks in geography, it makes up for in importance. It holds the largest city of the whole of the Theltheim Isles: "Saint Maria" with a population of eight billion. It is so massive that it encompasses the entirety of the Shattered Peninsula, as well as the air above it, and the ground below it.

In between the Shattered Peninsula and Upper Theltheim lies the: "Shattered Isles" a large mass of tens of thousands of desert islands raging in size from a few hundreds of kilometres in diameter, to some as small as a few meters in diameter. As a result, very few colonies have been established across, with property rights given out to any who's willing to pay for it.

Just before reaching Lower Theltheim, one will find the Auit-Islet, a fairly large desert islet with a dynamic landscape of hills, canyons, and sparsely place forests. Its largest mountain: "Mount Miranda" is the largest mountain on the isles, and its largest forest, the: "Hepana Forest" holds the largest concentration of Haven Oak trees on the isles. It is the most visited island of the isles by those from other landmasses, as its largest city: "Formond" serves as the isles most major port.

Lower Theltheim holds the largest forest of any on the isles, the so named: "Wapsaeon Forest" and is also the only place in the world where the: "Dreadwood Tree" is known to grow. The Dreadwood Tree is famous for its black coloring, making it appear like a sliver of midnight. Within this forest lies the major city of: "Mesia" the smallest of the major cities of the isles, with a population of around two-hundred thousand individuals.

North of the Wapsaeon Forest lies the Labitino Valleys, a smaller sibling to the Lavyinthos Valleys in Upper Theltheim. Here, like the previously mentioned valleys, thousands of small mountain-like mounds create a massive maze like pattern all across its respective region. At the end of the valleys, lies the large city of: "Flumen," most famous for being the respective city where the Monotheism Sentinel is located, along with being the closest city to the Key River, usually being the destination for most ships crossing the river. Flumen itself has a population of around six hundred and eighty thousand.

At the southernmost region of Lower Thelthiem and northernmost region of Upper Theltheim, lies the two ancient cryo-volcanoes: "Mt.Atoll" and: "Mt.Dalton" respectively. Both extend for thousands of feet in the sky, but Mt.Dalton is the larger of the two, with a height of around one hundred kilometres. The two volcanoes have been inactive for billions of years, however if they were active and they erupted, the n a massive ice field would be stretched all across the Theltheim isles, as well as northern Zazirel.

Across all of the isles lies the: "Remmants of Connection" a collection of countless miniature islands broken off from the main islands during Thelthiem separation from the continent of Zazriel. Here, several small colonies have been established on the islands that could hold the, however the vast majority of the isles are minuscule islands that lack even names.

Bloodmoore: Overview []

Bloodmoore

Orbital view of Bloodmore. (The Geilda Ocean is darkned to highlight the Bleeding Shoreline)

Bloodmoore is a large island located in the Eastern Geilda Ocean, east of the continent of Zazriel and Southeast to the Theltheim Isles, with a landmass of around ninety thousand and sixty-six thousand kilometres squared. It is famed for its unique coloration from space due to the sheer abundance of Rose Wood trees that inhabit the island, making it appear red. As well, it is well known by the Haven populace as it holds around sixty six unique flora and fauna species only native to the island such as the Sanguine Blossom, Bleeding Sapling, Theratak, and the Velooma Monster.

Despite its numerous distinctive features, it holds very few colonies due to both the hazardous native lifeforms, as well as attempting to keep the island's limited and rare inhabitants free from the dangers of urbanization. The only major colony on the island is the port city of: "Bleeding Dragon" which is walled off from the rest of the island, as a means of protection for both its inhabitants, and the creatures of Bloodmoore. If one attempts to leave the city, then they will be harshly punished, as they fear the island is so isolated from the rest of Haven that even mere foreign bacteria interacting with them may devastate entire populations.

The life on Bloodmoore is so exclusive to itself, no known species of flora and fauna from the wider planet life on the island, with the notable exception of the: "Velooma" fower, which is known to grow enforce across the River Crimson, so much so that it has left Bloodmoore the area of land where the largest concentration of the flower known on Haven.

Bloodmoore Landscape:[]

Almost the entirety of Bloodmoore's geography is comprised of a singular, giant forest of Rose Wood trees, giving the island a blood-red coloring. Millions of Rose Wood trees are known to inhabit the island, however it only has the second most concentration of the tree, being beaten out by the: "Forest of Rubies" in the One Wood Region of the continent of Zazriel.

This singular forest is known as the: "Forest of Blood" for obvious reasons. Within this forest, the many species of flora and fauna that are unique to the island flourish, making the island seem like an entirely different planet then the rest of Haven. No formal settlement has been established in this region of the island, though several research stations have been constructed in key areas of the forest to observe and document the endlessly intriguing inhabitants of Bloodmoore.

In certain regions of the Forest of Blood, other species of tree become more prevalent. Most notably, the: "Cages of Crimson" region is located in the southernmost point of the forest. Here, the Bloodmoore exclusive vine plant known as the: "Petrified Wire" grows in a three hundred kilometer field. The plant itself is extremely dangerous, as it is very sharp and poisonous, leaving the area almost completely devoid of any forms of fauna.

Across the shorelines, large sandy beaches are located. These, unlike the forests, are rather barren, with only a few types of fauna foraging around them. Here, the port city of Bleeding Dragon is located, arranged in an encircling line all around the circumference of the island, hugging along the ends of the Forest of Blood. Thanks to its articulate construction, the city has been able to accommodate a fairly large population of around fifty million individuals, living in safety from the various creatures of the island that may otherwise attack them.

Around the shores of the island, countless leaves of the many Rose Wood trees that inhabit the island constantly falling into the sea. This has left the waters around the island in around a ten kilometer encircling line to appear as red as blood, a common motif the island seems to have. This effect has been given the nickname of the: "Bleeding Shoreline," giving the island a somewhat fearful and or hellish appearance from low orbit, as well on approach from sea.

Cutting across the island is the River Crimson, a fairly large river spanning the entire length of the island that experiences the same effect the surrounding Bleeding Shoreline does, hence the name. Here, various semi aquatic mammal species native to the islands weave through the endless leaves across the river, catching fish and other prey native to the river.

At the center of the River Crimson lies the Velooma Grove, an area of land where the rare flower Velooma grows en-masse. Though not exclusive to the island, the Velooma Grove holds the highest concentration of the flower more then anywhere else in the world. Here, the so called: "Velooma Monster" can be found, a strange species of crustacean fauna that feed off of the flowers they take their name from.

Respite

Orbital view of Respite

Respite: Overview []

Respite, also known as the: "Rest Stop Island" is a small collection of islands located in the southwestern Lakvan Ocean, near the icy continent of Vanriel, it is a member of the: "Endless Isles," a blanket term for the tens of thousands of small islands across Haven. The island is around fifty-eight kilometres squared and only holds the small settlement of: "Peace from the Cold." Its location in the Lakvan Ocean is right above a small thermal vent, allowing for a warmer ocean climate around itself, making the island stand out from other small islands in the area. Its function is to provide a respite the endless cold waters and icy wastelands and islands of the Vanriel continent for sea fairing vessels, hence its name.

Despite how small and remote the island is, it has a very active stream of traffic, as many shipping vessels cross the southern Lakvan ocean, carrying goods from the continents of Pathiel and Cerviel. In fact, the island of Respite is actually part of the planned route shippers are given, using the island as a rest stop in between the voyage crossing the continents as its position is very advantageous to them.

Respite Landscape:[]

Respite's landscape is separated in three regions. The first and largest are small pockets of sandy deserts, these deserts are extremely barren, not holding many type of flora and fauna, and their primary landscape is a flat landscape with very few small wind swept sand dunes. The smaller islands broken off of the main islands are primarily made up of these deserts, and they lack any form of activity from the island's inhabitants. However, the largest of the islands broken from the main island, known as: "Lookout Island" holds a large lighthouse used to direct sea vessels to the island's port, as well as a small cluster of homes for the lighthouse keepers and their families.

The second region of the island is the: "Forest of Reprieve" a small area of dense woodland hugging the edges of the Recline Mountain. Here, the settlement of Peace from the Cold is located, an extremely small village, with a population of around one thousand individuals. However, its many luxurious hotels are visited quite frequently, making the settlement a booming economic area.

The forest itself is also broken in to sections, the first being the Central Forest of Reprieve, the area in which the Peace from the Cold settlement is located, while the Southern Forest of Reprieve is only inhabited by very few private homesteads. The foliage that makes up the forests primarily comprise the trees of Haven Oak and Haven Pine, however in the settlement itself, many trees of Amber Log and Autumn Leaf are grown around it, giving the area a beautiful mid-autumn atmosphere. While the fauna of the forests are only comprised of prey mammal species, small insects, and the countless varieties of birds across Haven, making the small areas filling to the brim with life.

The highest peak of the Island is the: "Recline Mountain," a small snowy mountain stretching around half a kilometre upwards. It holds a few clusters of trees that are native to mountainous expanses, as well as some mountain traversing fauna. However the most notable geological feature of the mountain is the the Soothing Falls, a large waterfall leading into a lake sharing the same name, also being the most famous landscape feature of the whole of the island.

At the peak of the

mountain lies the small structure that functions as a monastery for Vurraalaaww the God of the Sky in Ugnarian Mythology. As a result, the buildings only inhabitants are a small handful of Ugnara monks, and entering within the building as been barred for any other inhabitant of the island. As a result, the monks require donations to survive, often getting small amounts of food by the townsfolk every now and then.

The largest geological feature of the island is the River Reprieve, a large river that spans the entire length of the island from east to west. This river has many species of fish living in its salt water oceans, and often times the river is sailed by the inhabitants for leisure, as the calm waters lined with the beautiful orange-colored trees is a sight like no other.

Remina: Overview []

Remina

Orbital view of Remina.

Remina is one of the tens of thousands of islands located across planet Haven's massive salt water oceans and is often included in the so called: "Endless Isles," though technically it is considered to be apart of the northern continent of Ruhiel. Located in the northern Geilda Ocean, just south of Ruhiel, the island itself is fairly unimpressive when it comes to geography, as it is merely a small icy body with a harsh northern climate, experiencing cold winds throughout most of its year. With all this combined, one wouldn't think twice of the island, leaving it to nature's mercy, however because of the rare material known as: "Amendinite," Remina has held much more political and economical standing then other islands of its like. It stands as one of the few landmasses beyond the planet Amendia known to contain the material.

As Amendinite is a scared materiel to all Akardi, and is considered to be the birthright of the species, the island has more or less been given over to the aforementioned species, provided that the species share the precious resource that brought them to the land in the first place.

Thanks to this, Remina has a fairly large population compared to other small islands of Haven, with a population of around five hundred and fifty thousand individuals mostly comprised of Akardi, with humans making up almost the remainder. The populace of the island is almost entirely located in the islands two largest settlements of Cold Shore and New Avimeria though other small settlements are known to exist on the island as well.

Since the island is only inhabited thanks to the existence of Amendinite on its surface, its respective culture is almost entirely based around the religious reverence given to the material by the Akardi who rely on it. Not only that, but thanks to it serving as the only economic boon to the island, most if not all of the island's respective workforce is based around Amendinite.

Remina Landscape:[]

Remina is mainly made up of a singular landmass of ice and snow, pockmarked with large bumps and hills criss-crossing all along its icy landscape. Smaller islands that have broken off of the mainland are spread all around the island's coastline, with the largest of which being Cold Watch, located at the Easternmost part of the island.

Small lakes are located across the icy surface as well, with the largest of which being Lake Amendia due to its close proximity to the Amendinite mines. These salt-water lakes have an absolutely frigid average temperature of around negative fifteen degrees Celsius, and those native flora and fauna that call these small lakes home are the same that thrive in the nothern Geilda Ocean that surrounds Remina.

At the westernmost point of the Island, the human colony of Cold Shore can be found hugging along the islands western coastlines, located about fifty kilometres away from the massive caves of Amendia that served as the city's main economic boon. Its buildings are located all along the shoreline, with a massive wall surrounding the shores in a hundred kilometres wide encircling line, and outside of these walls facing the Geilda Ocean, many docks and shipyards are located for sea bound vessels that depart from the island towards Ruhiel and beyond.

Towards the center of the island, lies the largest colony on the island, the Akarti colony of New Avimeria, named after the city of the same name on their home world of Amendia. This city is located in an encircling line all around the mines of Amendinite, as it serves as both the main economic boon of the city, as well as the wider island. Its buildings often actually dip down into the mine, with houses built all along the ice cave walls in brilliant patterns.

Golden Isles[]

"Though I'm often credited for discovering all that the wondrous world of Haven has to offer, I cannot take credit for what is most likely her most beautiful feature, the Golden Isles. That honor goes to my good friend: "Hercan Ralo," who charted a small vessel to the islands and explored what each one had to offer. Thanks to his amazing work and dedication, we have been given a window to this land that almost seems like a world beyond Haven's own borders."-William Tancard's: Haven Atlas.

Golden Isles: Overview[]

The Golden Isles is a large archipelago located in the southern Lakvan ocean, off the northwestern coasts of the Pathiel continent, situated in the: "Sea of Gold." Originally, the area in which the Golden Isles are located once belonged to the lost continent of: "Galariel," the former smallest continent on the planet. However, after an ancient climate disaster caused a large portion of the icy continent of Vanriel to melt, the sea level of the planet raised drastically, sinking the majority of the continent into the sea and only leaving small areas of the former landmass above the waterline. Since the former continent's tectonic plate still remains active to the modern day, these islands are known to to move and change along the same lines as a typical continent, often times causing its respective member islands to combine and separate fairly often.

Its members include four large islands, as well as around twenty-eight smaller islands located in between them. The largest of which being the island of: "Glitter-Gold" located in the middle of the Sea of Gold. Following it is the Island of Aurum, located in the northern Sea of Gold, then the islands that comprise the Irinuen Isles in the east, and the island of Aquaninde in the south.

Each island that makes up the whole of the Golden Isles has its own unique cultures, ideals, and racial makeup. But despite this, they often collaborate on many things, and are combined to form the what is referred to as the Golden Isles region of Haven as they share many similarities in geography, climate, and proximity, as well as sharing a common origin.

The waters that surround each island is referred to as the: "Sea of Gold," so named due to the massive amounts of a unique chemical secreted by the many hydro thermal vents located in the area called: "Galotheirum," which can only be found in this section of the world making each island's respective shoreline appear gold. Along with the shorelines, almost each major body water on the islands themselves, such as rivers or lakes also experience the same effect.

Collectively, the Golden Isles holds one of the most diverse and unique ecosystems in the entirety of planet Haven, as each island holds myriad of flora and fauna exclusive to each island. Some of these flora and fauna are spread across all the islands that make up the isles, while others are only native to a specific one. A prime example of the former is the Glitter Leaf tree, as the tree species is found on each island, creating large golden-colored forests.

"It was quite a pleasure working with William on this project of his, as he is a great friend of mine and an even better author. His various books on Haven have most definately inspired many botanists, and I was only too happy to share my discoveries here with him." -Hercan Ralo

Glitter-Gold (Gold)

Orbital view of Glitter-Gold (Note: The size of the Sea of Gold has been exaggerated)

Glitter-Gold: Overview[]

Glitter-Gold is the largest island considered to be apart of the Golden Isles, and as a result, is the most populace and the most culturally and politically significant of the isles to the wider world. Overall, it is the sixth largest island of planet Haven, with a surface area of around three hundred and fifty-seven kilometres squared. Its dynamic landscape and geography is the most famous aspect of the island, with massive forests, large rivers, fertile plains, and a large volcano. Thanks to this, it has several large cities across its picture-esque landscape and has a population of around one billion, eighty-eight thousand individuals. The island's capital: "Summermist" Is particularly held in high regard by Haven's overall population, as its golden-crystalline buildings are a sight to behold for all.

The island holds a very unique ecosystem, with a large amount of biodiversity among both flora and fauna. This is because of the vast amount of exclusive species that call the island home, with a total of around one hundred and fifty-five unique species of flora and fauna only found on the island, with several other species of the two aforementioned categories native across the whole of the Golden Isles. These include such things as the Crystal Pillars, Gleaming Lotus, Golden Gala-Tree, Anida Eagle, Glitter Peacock, and the Horde Dragon, among others.

Thanks to these aspects, Glitter-Gold is one of the most economically and culturally significant landmasses on planet Haven, with the island holding a large embassy building on its surface, making Glitter-Gold the defacto capital island of the Golden Isles.

Gltter-Gold: Landscape[]

Glitter-Gold's overall landscape is primarily comprised of a singular large forest comprised of many different species of tree, such as Haven Oak, Haven Pine, Weiga Tree, and others. However the most notable tree that is known to inhabit this forest is the Glitter Leaf tree native across the whole of the Golden Isles, famed for their leaves brilliant gold-coloring. This forest is divided into five regions based on the difference in tree population, and fauna located within them.

The first and largest region of the forest is known as the: "Brilliant Woodlands" so named as the majority of the trees that inhabit the forest are that of the Glitter Leaf species. This forest is situated in the middle of the island and extends across the length of the: "River of Luck" that cuts across the whole of the island. Along with this, its respective trees are located all around the two mountain ranges of: "Thelindin" and "Phermal." Within this forest, several small settlements are nestled within its thick gold and green treeline, as well as the three large cities of Sonian, with a population of around one hundred and thirty thousand, Saleinare, with a population of around two hundred thousand, and Summermist, the final of which serving as the largest and most populace of the island's cities, as well as serving as capital for the whole of the island and the rest of the Golden Isles.

The next notable region of the forest is known as the: "Landia's Woods," located in the southwest of the island, named after the largest city founded in this region: "Landia," a large city built around the treeline with a population of around three hundred and fifty-eight thousand. This area of woodland is primarily comprised of Haven Oak, with small pockets of Haven Pine and Glitter Leaf located in between them. This is the most flora-rich area of the forest, with thousands of species of flower located all across it. Most notably, this is the only region of planet Haven where: "Gilded-Violets" grow naturally.

To the southernmost point of the island, lies the: "Golden-Flame" forest, named as such due to its proximity around the large volcano on the island, the: "Dragon's Breath" mountain. As the volcano remains active to this day, periodic eruptions have been observed, but as the volcano itself isn't particularity large, only standing at around five hundred and fifty feet in the air, these are manageable. The largest city located in this forest is the city of: "Southern-Star" a large city built into the volcano itself. The trees that make up the forest are a mixture of Gillter Leaf and Rose Wood trees, giving its golden-fire look.

The next notable region is the: "Subdued Radiance," a large forest so named thanks to the large amount of Wiega Trees that block the respective Glitter Leaf trees of the region from receiving a large amount of light from Hope. As a result, the normally vibrant gold trees look more faded and subdued. Thanks to this, no large cities have been established in this region, and instead, small villages, towns and other settlements are located across it.

The final notable region of the forest is the: "Dalidon" forest, in the northernmost point of the island and located all around the norther shorelines, its Glitter Leaf trees are lined in an encircling line all along the coastline. As the leaves of these trees fall from the branches they inhabit, massive amounts of them fall into the water, leading to its respective shores to look like liquid gold. The largest city of this region is the city of: "Golden Horizons," a large city made out of golden colored metals to add to the whole gold aesthetic atmosphere the coast and the wider island is known for. Golden Horizons holds a population of around one million three hundred thousand individuals, and serves as the respective port city for the island, requiring all sea-fairing vessels to be vetted in its docks before continuing to the island at large.

The largest geological feature of the island is the River of Luck, a large river spanning the entire length of the island, cutting across the landscape from the north and southeast of Glitter-Gold. Most famously, the River of Luck experiences the same effect the Golden Shoreline does, as both the endless supply of Galotherum flooding into its waters, as well as the countless leaves from the many Glitter Leaf trees fall into the river, making it appear like a giant flowing mass of liquid gold.

Aurum (Gold)

Orbital view of Aurum. (Note: The size of the Sea of Gold has been exaggerated)

Aurum: Overview []

Aurum is the second largest member of the Golden Isles archipelago, with a surface area of around two hundred and eighty-seven thousand kilometres squared, it is so large it is considered to be the overall seventh largest island on the entire planet of Haven. It is located at the northernmost point of the Sea of Gold, just above the island of Glitter-Gold As a result of its size, Aurum has an extremely large population of around five hundred and fifty-two million individuals, with its largest city: "Avidon," holding a population of around eight hundred and forty-three million individuals.

Like all major islands of the Golden Isle, Aurum holds an extremely unique and diverse ecosystem with various species of flora and fauna that are exclusive to Aurum, with around ninety-seven total species of flora and fauna that call the island home. The two most notable being the Aurum Lotus, a large golden-colored flower, and the Galltenta, a raptor-like predator species that hunts along the island's coastline.

Aurum: Landscape[]

Aurum's landscape, is very uniform, mainly consisting of a a singular large forest of Glitter Leaf trees interspersed with various other species of tree such as Haven Oak and Weiga Tree. The ground the forest sits upon is also extremely uniform, as it is a singular flat landmass with very few deviations of elevation among itself. The forest itself is divided into three distinct regions, with the largest of which being the: "Grand Aurum Forest," so named due to its massive size, as it encompasses around eighty-seven percent of the entire landmass of the island, with almost the entirety of northern and central Aurum considered to be apart of it. The city of Avidon, the largest colony on Aurum, is located near the center of the forest, surrounded by the river that shares its name, with large structures spanning the length of the golden river.

Located at the northeastern most point of the island lies the: "Gliaded Boglands," a large and dense swamp land of thick mud and numerous ponds across it. The ground that makes up the swamp is extremely unstable, with many animals who cross it being swallowed whole by the mud they are attempting to traverse, and the flora that makes up the swamps respective ecosystem are low growing trees that can root themselves to the uneven ground. As a result, it lacks the many Gilded Leaf trees that the rest of the island is accustomed to, and the darker shades of its respective tree's leaf coloring make it appear like a dark green stain from orbit. Due to how unstable and densely populated the Gliaded Boglands are, no large cities have been established there, with only a small amount of villages and other communities being located among the many ponds the swamps are famed for.

At the westernmost points of the island, the concentration of Glitter-Leaf trees begins to wain, which marks the transition from the Grand Aurum Forest to the so named: "Fragmented Forest." The respective trees of the Fragmented Forest are a variety of many tree species such as Glitter-Leaf, Haven Oak, Haven Pine, and Haven Brich, with random patches of each located in no definitive pattern, hence the forest's rather famous name. As a result, the Fragmented Forest is very unique among the countless individual forests of Haven, as they are almost always fairly uniform and with a solid pattern in tree placement, becoming one of the most famous features of the island, with the large city of: "Taurn" located in the center of the forest, with a population of around one hundred and fifty million individuals.

Towards the easternmost point of the island, several areas of land have been fractured and broken off from the main island during the sinking of the former continent it was once apart of. These various islands are known as the: "Fractured Gold-Lands," and they are typically very small, with most only spanning around ten kilometres in diameter. However the largest of which, the island of: "Thaorfhar" being around one hundred kilometres in diameter, being large enough to hold the city of: "Gallia," a fairly large city with a population of around one hundred and fifty-eight individuals. As a result of the other islands that make up the Fractured Gold-Lands, very few structures have been established there, save for various lighthouses to direct sea bound vessels towards the eastern shores and the city of Gallia.

Across Aurum there are several large fresh water rivers that lead into the oceans that surround the island, the largest of which being the: "Renquarien" river, a large mass of water that spans the length of western and southeastern Aurum. The Renquarien river experiences the same effect all major bodies of water in the whole of the Golden Isles, as the countless Glitter-Leaf trees that surround it constantly drop leaves into the river, making it appear gold, a trait all subsequent rivers share. Due to its large size, as well as the massive amounts of fresh water produced by the river, it serves as the single-most important geological feature of Aurum, as the island's native populace requires it for sustenance. Several large cities are situated across the river, with the largest of which being the city of: "Estendil," located on the westernmost banks of the river towards the Lakvan ocean.

Other large bodies of water on the island include the river of Avidon in central Aurum, which holds the capital city of Aurum that it shares its name with. The: "Athor" river, located on the northeastern most point of the island, which serves as the only salt-water river on the island. The: "Hanitola" river located on the eastern shores of Aurum. And the: "Tragoni" a small river that separates the Fractured Gold-Lands from mainland Aurum. The only lake to inhabit the island is the: "Great Aurum Sea," a somewhat sarcastic title as the lake is only around twenty kilometres in diameter, making it a fairly small body of water. Despite its small size however, it holds the largest population of aquatic flora and fauna out of any body of water on the island, making it a fairly popular fishing area to the island's inhabitants.

Nestled in between the Renquarien and Athor rivers lies the: "Anaedael Valley," a large canyon system that spans the breathe of the two rivers that surround it. The Anaedael Valley is a large labyrinth of large limestone mountains, cliffs, and valleys that are formed in a random and chaotic pattern, making it appear like a strange and fragmented golden mass. Built all across and underneath the valley lies the massive city of: "Cameanya" a large interconnected structure that burrows throughout the entire length of the valley both across, and below it with a population of around three hundred million individuals.

Irinuen Isles: Overview []

Halcyon (Gold)

Orbital view of the Irnunen Isles. (Note: The size of the Sea of Gold has been exaggerated)

The Irnuen Isles are two large islands located in the eastern Sea of Golden and are collectively considered to be the third largest member of the Golden Isles archipelago, with a combined surface area of around two hundred and thirty-nine thousand kilometres squared. The isles are comprised of two members, North Irinuen and South Irinunen, with the latter of which being the larger of the two. Combined, the two islands have a fairly large population, with around one billion twenty-six million individuals inhabiting the islands respective surface, making it the second most populace island of

Like their sister islands, the Irinuen Isles holds many unique species of flora and fauna exclusive to their own respective borders, however something that stands out in the two islands respective ecosystems is that they both have their own separate and unique flora and fauna, with neither sharing any species with any other landmass in the Golden Isles, save for the Glitter-Leaf trees that are spread across all islands of the Golden Isles. These include creatures such as the: "Allgidivg" of North Irinuen and the: "Lidaraton" of South Irinuen.

Irinuen Isles: Landscape[]

The landscape of South Irinuen mainly consists of arid lightly-forested deserts, as the large: "Golden Hammer" desert spans almost the entirety of the island, from central South Irinuen, to the eastern shores. The desert itself is an arid, flat waste of warm and surprisingly fairly temperate sands, with small pockets of trees such as Glitter-Leaf and Haven Oak located sparsely across it. The respective flora and fauna that inhabits the desert is those who are most well adapted to the climate experienced by the region, such as the: "Sand Cat," that is commonly seen across Haven, as well as more exclusive species such as the: "Spiked Radiant Flower." Due to it being the largest region of South Irinuen, it holds the largest amount of settlements, four of which are massive metropolitan cities, the largest of which being the capital city of Irinuen Isles: "Armelmoellith," holding a population of around five hundred and twenty million individuals. Other notable cities include the city of: "Laraetheus," with a population of around three hundred million: "Ancoturrmaillin," with a population of two hundred and fifty-seven million, and the city of: "Yakoielandil," with a population of around two hundred million individuals

Located on the westernmost shores of South Irinuen lies the second respective desert of the island, the: "Aediane Desert." Despite being much smaller then its larger sister desert of Golden Hammer, the Aediane Desert is still an impressive stretch of land, spanning a surface area of around eighty thousand kilometres squared. Unlike the Golden Hammer Desert, the Aediane Desert is a more barren area of land, with very few pockets of trees, save for the occasional small woodlands of Glitter-Leaf trees. Thanks to this, it holds the large port city of: "Melimonwen," holding a population of around three hundred and twenty-six million individuals.

Despite how barren the island seems to be, their are a handful of life-filled forests located in between the two large deserts, the most massive of which being the forest of: "Loreiadus," located in western South Irinuen. The Loreiadus forest has a rather unique trait among the many forests across the whole of the Golden Isles, as there are comparatively very few Glitter-Leaf trees compared to the large amounts of more common species of tree, such as Haven Oak and Haven Birch, making it appear more green then gold from orbit. The most notable thing about the forest is the large city that calls it home: "Ortarintil," which is famed for the ornate golden architecture all structures considered to be apart of the city holds.

The second largest forest of the island is the: "Caminane Forest" located due east of the Great Halcyon River, and west of the Hyaalin Plains. Unlike its sister forest of Loreiadus, its trees are far more uniform with those of other islands of the Golden Isles, with massive amounts of Glitter-Leaf trees arranged in a spiral-like pattern, taking the appearance of spokes on a wheel and making the forest appear like a giant golden circle from low orbit. Several small elaborately constructed colonies are established throughout the forest, however the large city of: "Goldenfell," is the most luxurious, with massive structures built all along the encircling woods also following the same spiral pattern. Goldenfell, despite not being the isles' capital, holds the largest population of any of the cities on both of the islands, with around six hundred million individuals.

The most unique geological feature on the island is the: "Hyaalin Plains" a large flat meadow of golden colored grass known as: "Hyaalin's Breath," which incidental is only known to grow within this specific area. Along with the grass, many exclusive species of flower are also known to inhabit the plains, with around twenty-six unique species grown all across the area, making it a very vibrant and colorful area of land. The species of fauna that inhabit the area are the many grassing mammals that are spread throughout Haven, eating off of the Hyaalin's Breath grass, as well as the many species of flower. Due to its unique features, the Hyaalin Plains have been labeled as a protected area, and as such, no formal colonies have been established, and it has been left to nature mercy, becoming a fairly popular tourist nature preserve.

At the southeastern most points of the South Irinuen island lies the: "Ryaidilid Mountain Range," a large expanse of numerous massive mountains growing in a semi-circle-like pattern. These granite mountains are covered in countless individual Glitter-Leaf trees, growing all around, upon, and beneath them, giving each the appear of a large vertical forest. Throughout the various mountains, hundreds of individual settlements, villages, and towns have been established within and atop the many peaks of the valley, holding a total population of around twenty-three million individuals. However, the area lacks any form of large formal city, as the area is too uneven and unpredictable for one.

Towards the north, the second large mountain range of South Irinuen can be found known as the: "Mirion Mountain Range," located on the northern banks of the Great Halcyon River. The Mirion Mountain Range, while not being as large as the Ryaidilid Mountain Range, is still a rather impressive mountainous expanse, spanning an area of around three hundred and fifty-two kilometres squared, and unlike its sister mountain range, it holds a singular large colony that is built all across the mountain range, the city of: "Yakoldil," with a population of around one hundred million individuals.

Cutting across the entirety of central South Irinuen is the: "Great Halcyon River," a large salt-water river that extends at around fifty-nine kilometres in diameter. Within the river, countless species of fish make their homes in the very temperate waters, including the large: "Golden Scaled Dancer" fish that is native across many bodies of water across the whole of the Golden Isles archipelago. Thanks to its large fish population, the Great Halcyon River serves as the main food source for the inhabitants of the South Irinuen Island, as the area lacks very many flat fertile plains suitable for growing produce. Constructed all across the banks of the river are several fishing settlements, villages and towns, making the area a booming center of economic growth.

The largest body of water on the South Irinuen Island is the: "Olquari Lake" a large land locked body of fresh water that spans about sixty two kilometres in diameter. Due to its size and location, it serves as the main source of fresh water for the island's inhabitants, as most of the island is comprised of humans who require it to survive. The Olquari Lake also holds a large fish population, with the many fish species that make their homes across many of Haven's fresh water bodies existing within the lake. Built in an encircling line around the lake, several small fishing settlements and water treatment plants are spread all across the diameter of the lake.

The landmass that would become the North Irinuen Island separated from the South Irinuen Island after the sinking of the lost continent of Galariel. North Irinuen is much smaller then its sister-island, only being around fifty-nine thousand kilometres squared. Its geography mainly consists of a singular large forest known as the forest of: "Sillonahl," a large forest of Glitter-Leaf trees that spans across the entire length of the island and lacks much diversity and variation. The various fauna that inhabits the Sillonahl are very diverse, as well as being exclusive to the forests borders, though there are a few more widespread species located there as well. The unique species of fauna include thing such as the: "Allgidivg," a large alligator like reptile that inhabits the small ponds located across the forest. Their are many small settlements, villages and towns located across the forest, however the most notable colony that is located there is the large city of: "Laemihre," holding a population of around three hundred million individuals.

Located at the northeastern most point of the North Irinuen Island is the: "Thillinthar Mountain Range" a comparatively small mountain range compared to those located in the South Irinuen Island, and like those located there, the many trees that surround the mountainous expanse grow all along and on top of the small limestone mountains. Due to the mountain range's small size. no notable colonies have been established there, leaving the Thillinthar Mountain Range to nature's mercy.

Arquaninde: Overview []

Arquaninde (Gold)

Orbital view of Arquaninde. (Note: The size of the Sea of Gold has been exaggerated)

Arquaninde is the smallest of the four large islands that comprise the Golden Isles archipelago, with it only having a surface area of around fifty-seven thousand kilometres squared. Due to its small size, very few formal colonies have been established there, save for a few villages and towns. As a result, the island holds a fairly small population compared to the other large islands of the Golden Isles, only holding a population of around fifty-two thousand individuals

Its landscape is very uniform, with only slight deviation among itself, mostly comprising of a singular forest of Glitter-Leaf Trees, and the life that inhabits said forest is more in line with those you can find on other islands that comprise the Golden Isles archipelago, with the only exception being the massive: "Arquaninde Crystal." However due to very little interference by any intelligent species, said flora and fauna is able to thrive very effectively, making the small island an oasis of life.

Arquaninde: Landscape[]

As previously stated, Aequaninde mainly consists of a singular forest of Glitter-Leaf trees, also sharing the same name as the small island it rests upon. The majority of the forest is a extremely densely packed woodland, with many of its respective trees growing within each other as the area is very overpopulated with said Glitter-Leaf trees. Within the thick tree outlines, the many exotic fauna that call the Golden Isles home can be seen far and wide, such as the Gilded Peacock, as they are known to exist in the highest concentration within the Aequaninde Forest out of any Golden Isles island.

The northernmost point of the forest, the water content of the forest begins to thicken immensely, turning the area into more of a swamp or bog land. Within this region, many ponds are spread as far as the eye can see, and the ground is drenched with massive amounts of water, making it very muddy and difficult to traverse for those not adapted to do so. the northern Aequaninde forest is also the only region of the island where a species of tree that is not Glitter-Leaf is known to grow, as in several areas of the region, various small pockets of Rot-Wood trees exist.

At the southwestern shores of the island, the small: "Minlora" river can be found. This small body of salt-water only extends to around three kilometres, and has very few fauna inhabiting its respective. However, upon the tops of the water, many different species of lilies and various other water bound flowers are known to grow in large numbers there, giving the river a very aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The most notable feature of the island is the: "Arquaninde Crystal," a massive Crystal Pillar plant that almost spans the entire length of the island, at around forty seven kilometres in diameter, and sixty-seven feet high. It is the largest known Crystal Pillar ever discovered, as they typically only grow about seven feet high, making the Arquaninde Crystal very famous among the overall populace of the Golden Isles, with many flocking to the island to get a glimpse of the magnificent sight. It is so large, it has its own unique ecosystem exclusive to itself, with several species of flora growing on top of it, as well as various burrowing animals making their respective homes within its large branches and trunk.

Widespread Tree Flora[]

"Haven Oaks are as common as the grass they sit upon. I'm sure I've seen trillions of the throughout my journey around have, yet despite that, I always have to stop myself from observing each minute detail of its structure. They are the ultimate example of both quality and quantity, and anyone wanting a thick materiel for their homestead, look no further."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Haven Oak

A typical Haven Oak Tree.

Haven Oak: Overview []

The Haven Oak is the most common form of tree spread across Haven, with countless members inhabiting every corner of the world. They are so prevalent, that out of the theorized four trillion trees inhabiting Haven's surface, around one trillion of them belong to the Haven Oak family alone. It shares its namesake with that of the: "Oak" tree found on planet Earth , as they are almost an exact mirror image of each other.

Haven Oak: Physical[]

Haven Oak trees are one of the most diverse trees on Haven, with around six hundred different species of Haven Oak, with each ranging widely in height, girth, and volume. Its wood is very thick, taking around two thousand eight hundred pounds per square inch to break through its structure. Haven Oaks have their respective leaves arranged in a sort of spiral pattern, much alike their Earth dwelling counterparts. The exact amount of branches and leaves a Haven Oak can have varies depending on the specific tree in question, though some have been reported to have as much as fifty thousand separate leaves growing at once.

Typically, a Haven Oak tree will take around two standard years to fully mature from an acorn, but thanks to their extreme rate of reproduction, the Haven Oak has dominated the majority of the planet's countless forests, with an average tree producing up to fifty eight thousand acorns per year. In fact: Haven Oaks reproduce so quickly, that both human and artificial intervention is needed to prevent the trees from overtaking all available landmass.

Haven Oak: Usage[]

Thanks to the trees relatively strong durability, as well as its commonalty, most homes that are not apart of large cities throughout Haven are created from Haven Oak, making the planet littered with expertly crafted idyllic log cabin-esque homes. Along with housing, many sea-fairing vessels are created from the wood of Haven Oak trees as it is extremely cheap and abundant, though its not recommended that those who use these vessels travel great distances.

Non-intelligent species of insects, birds, and small mammals often use the Haven Oak trees as nests, as they provide a fair amount of protection from both the elements, as well as threats from other predator species. Often times, a predator species will actually evolve to specifically break through Haven Oak trees and get at their prey, as the trees are just that prevalent across the planet.

"Even though I hold an appreciation for all trees of Haven, there's something about a Haven Pine covered in snow that reminds me of home. Something about the smell they produce that places me in a log cabin, sitting by the fire to escape the snow outside, with a hot drink in my hand, I can't get enough of them."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Haven Pine: Overview []

Haven Pine

A forest of Haven Pine located on the icy island of Alannia.

Haven Pine trees, like their Earth counterparts, are an extremely common form of flora on planet Haven, though their population pales in comparison to that of the Haven Oak, with around five hundred billion Haven Pine trees known to exist on the surface. They are known to spread amongst almost all landscapes of Haven, though they can most commonly found in colder regions such as taigas and tundras.

Haven Pine: Physical[]

Like the Haven Oak, the Haven Pine trees are an extremely diverse family of tree, with around one hundred and thirty different species of Haven Pine trees known to exist, with each having traits unique to each other. Unlike the Haven Oak however, Haven Pine tree's wood is fairly brittle, only taking around three hundred pounds per square inch to break its structure. Its leaves, as the name suggests, are sharp thin cones, often considered to be prickly and irritating to the touch. These leaves have the fastest recorded time to fall of their mother tree, making the ground around a respective Haven Pine tree riddled with leaves. The bark of most pines is thick and scaly, but some species have thin, flaky bark, and for wood-eating insect species, they find Haven Pine trees in particular especially delicious

Typically, a Haven Pine tree requires around thirty standard years to fully grow, making them one of the slower growing Haven tree species, but as a single Haven Pine tree can produce around twenty thousand acorns per standard year, many can grow in a single area at once. Haven Pine trees can grow extremely tall as well, with the longest known clocking in at around three hundred feet tall.

Haven Pine: Usage[]

As Haven Pine trees are not as durable as their oak siblings, they are not often used in the construction of buildings. Instead, thanks to their brilliant auburn coloring, they are usually used in the creation of decorations and furniture. Along with this, many liqueur barrels are constructed using the wood, as its aesthetics pair very well with the brown hue of ale.

Small prey mammalian fauna that dwell within Haven Pine forests often create little nests underneath the thick covering of leaves to conceal their presence from predator species. As well, they will often make thick bedding out of the countless individual leaves that typically lie at the bottom of a Haven Pine tree, making a fairly comfortable place for their young, as well as themselves to rest on.

"Haven Birch trees epitomize summer to me, as in most cases I've been around them as been during Haven's summer months. They are also one of the most uniform I've ever came across, as the hundreds of forests of Haven Birch trees I've traversed seem to have trees that look like exact duplicates of themselves."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Haven Birch Forest 2

A temperate forest of Haven Birch trees.

Haven Birch: Overview[]

Haven Birch trees are an extremely common species of tree native across many biomes on planet Haven, with a global population of around four hundred billion individual trees, making it the third most populace species of tree on Haven. Its name derives from its overall physical structure and appearance, as it is almost an exact mirror image of other birch trees found on various planets, such as Earth .

Haven Birch: Physical[]

Much alike the more common species of tree found on Haven, the Haven Birch family of trees can very diverse in appearance and physical structure, though they are most commonly considered to be a: "medium" sized comparatively, usually only standing at about a maximum height of around seventy feet. They have fairly durable wood, taking around sixteen hundred pounds per square inch to break its structure. Their bark on the other hand, is extremely brittle, taking minimalist effort to break off from the main tree, as well as having a paper-like feeling texture. Haven Birch trees typically also lack many leaves, and during the planet's fall months, it is not uncommon to find a completely barren tree in just a few days.

Haven Birch trees grow remarkably quick for a tree species, only taking around twenty standard years to fully grow from a seed. Along with their fast growth, a single Haven Birch tree can produce up to a thousand individual seeds in just a few short standard years, with a tree success rate of around thirty eight percent, making a single Haven Birch tree able to create a vast forest almost single-handedly.

Haven Birch: Usage[]

Due to their commonality, as well as its fairly sturdy structure, Haven Birch trees are often used in the construction of many things, such as walls for small structures like houses, to other items such as furniture, as well, their white coloring is often used in the creation of art pieces. As they are often very thin and lean, tree manufacturing plants often prefer Haven Birch over other common tree species as many of them can grow in a small area of land without impeding on the other, as well as their extremely quick growth and seed production cycles.

Many different burrowing species of bird that make their nests within the hollowed out structures of trees prefer the Haven Birch to other tree species, as they are fairly thin, making it comparatively easy for it to burrow without using too much physical effort. Usually these nests will be located near the tops of the tree, as to have a height advantage against wood be predators at ground level.

"I remember one day on my trek across Haven, I discovered a forest of Autumn Leaf trees, and at the time, I was incredibly confused as I thought it was Haven's respective summer, which it actually was. Finding an eternal piece of Autumn is one of my favorite experiences in life, and I often walk areas where they grow in my leisure time, as the orange coloring of their leaves gives me a great amount of peace."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Autumn Leaf: Overview []

Autmn Leaf 1

An orange colored Autumn Leaf tree.

Autmn Leaf is a common species of tree spread across planet Haven and are extremely prevalent, with a known global population of around five hundred billion. Their name comes from the appearance of their leaves, as they usually take a color akin to that of other species of trees during mid autumn. They are most prevalent in the more temperate regions of the planet, such as the continent of Pathiel, as they are known to grow their in force.

Autumn Leaf: Physical[]

Like most common species of trees across Haven, Autumn Leaf trees are extremely diverse, with hundreds of variations among them with a total of around one hundred and three distinct variations of Autumn Leaf. Like the Haven Oak, Autumn Leaf trees are very durable, taking around two thousand nine hundred pounds per square inch to break their structure. They produce acorns very quickly, dropping around fifteen thousand acorns in just a standard year, making a thick vibrantly colored forests in various landmasses on Haven. A typical Autumn Leaf will have many branches extending out from itself, with an average branch count of around one hundred per tree. Their wood is extremely smooth, with very few pieces of jagged bark sticking out of its structure, which doesn't seem to serve any distinct purpose, however it does give the tree a subjective aesthetically appealing look to some.

Their variation of color is by far their most distinctive trait, with Autumn Leaf trees being able to produce vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red. Often times, an individual may confuse an Autumn Leaf tree with other tree species such as Amber Log or Rose Wood due to their shared leaf coloring, but they are distinct species of tree. Funnily enough, during Haven's autumn, an Autumn Leaf tree's leaves will actually begin to turn green, making them a reverse to most tree species.

Autumn Leaf: Usage[]

As Autumn Leaf trees are very prevalent, and their wood is fairly durable, it is often used as a constructed materiel for many buildings, much alike Haven Oak trees, with their orange-colored smooth texture often being used in very intricate furniture. Along with being used in construction, due to their vibrant colors, they are the most common species of tree kept by tree keepers, with massive acres of personally kept trees.

Like most durable species of tree on Haven, many fauna use Autumn Lead trees as nests, and particular, the countless species of birds across Haven commonly create massive colonies in just a single Autumn Leaf tree as they have massive amounts of large branches that can hold them. Other burrowing mammal fauna often create nests in areas of Autumn Leaf trees where predatory species can't reach them as well.

"Amber Log trees have to be my favorite thing discovered during my travels. Their fruit is so delicious, it makes all fruit on Earth taste like a rotten carrot. Not only that, but their sap is also so delectable it's almost heartbreaking. I often have to stop myself whenever I cross an Amber Log as I can go a little overboard with them. I can't help it. I am only human after all."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Amber Log: Overview []

Amber Tree

Amber Log trees alongside a road.

Amber Log trees are a common and widespread species of tree across Haven's various temperate continents and islands, with a global population of around twenty billion individual trees. They are most commonly found growing along fresh water rivers, waterfalls and lakes, but are known to inhabit other areas as well. Due to their native location, they are often concealed in fog

Amber Log: Physical[]

Amber Logs, unlike many of the common species of tree across Haven, are very uniform in their appearance and overall physical structure, with very few differentiate features between Amber Log species. They are very typically very thin and tall, usually standing at a height of around thirty feet high. They are fairly weak structurally speaking, only having a tensile strength of around fifty-eight pounds per square inch to break its structure. Their leaves will typically have a yellow, orange, red or faded green coloring, often making people confuse Amber Log trees for Autumn Leaf trees. These leaves fall extremely often as well, usually dropping fifty leaves per standard day, but thanks to their leaves extreme rate of leaf growth, they will always have a large leaf population.

Amber Orb

An Amber Orb.

They are a fruit bearing tree, growing a type of citrus named: "Amber Orb." Amber Orbs are extremely sugary and sweet, enticing animals to eat the fruit and spread its seeds across the land. Along with the fruit, Amber Log trees leek an orange colored sap filled with sugar, making them a nexus of energy for animals.

Amber Log: Usage[]

As their wood is extremely weak, they are almost never cut down and their wood used in construction, instead, Amber Logs usage by the inhabitants of Haven almost exclusively involve both the fruit they produce, as well as the endless amounts of sap seeping out of their bark. Amber Orbs and Amber Sap are considered to be exceedingly delicious to humans, as well as other Ambrosia Alliance member species that inhabit Haven. As a result, Amber Logs are one of the most grown trees by the Haven populace, with may fruit produces selling massive amounts of the fruit and sap, as the they are very profitable.

Along with intelligent individuals, many herbivore and omnivore fauna often rely on Amber Orbs as an integral part of their diet, using the extreme amount of sugar in the fruit to give them boundless energy. Typically, an animal only requires one fruit to fill their hunger for the entire day.

"As I made my trek across Haven, I always found myself overwhelmed with the sheer immense size of the Wiega Tree. When I attempt to look at their treetops, I have to stop myself from falling over. If one wants to feel small, then look no further then the Wiega Tree, as they are the perfect way to do so"-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Wiega Tree: Overview[]

Wiega Tree

A group of average height Wiega Trees.

The Wiega Tree is a common species of tree found in the more temperate regions of Haven. They are most well known for the great heights that they typically grow to, and are most commonly found on the continent of Zazriel, though they can be found in smaller numbers in almost any temperate region. They have an estimated global population of around one billion individual trees, making them the sixteenth most populace species of tree to inhabit the planet.

Wiega Tree: Physical[]

The Wiega Tree is among Haven's tallest species of tree, growing at an average height of around seventy-seven feet in the air, (23 meters) though some are known to grow up to heights of around two hundred feet. (60 meters) Due to their massive size, they are deeply rooted trees, with extremely durable roots and trunks, as they need a large amount of support to keep themselves upright. As a result, they are one of the most durable species of tree on Haven, taking around forty thousand pounds per square inch to break their structure, making them almost indestructibly to most natural means of damage. Their bark is also particular strong, taking a fairly large amount of force for a piece of it to be torn off of the main tree.

It will typically take a Wiega Tree around a hundred standard years to fully grow, as it requires a large amount of time and energy to grow, though these times can be increased substantially depending on the ultimate size the tree will take. Along with this, a Wiega tree does not produce seeds very often, only producing around ten every eight standard years, fairly low amounts for the many other species of tree that typically surround them. At the top of the tree, massive branches grow in large, random patterns that can vary widely from one tree to another, with no set pattern. These branches will continuously grow throughout a Wiega Tree's natural life, making them very large.

Wiega Tree: Usage[]

Due to the incredible durability of a Wiega Tree's wood, they are often used in the construction of buildings such as houses, and even a few commercial structures depending on location. And with the fairly larger Wiega Tree, one can gather several hundreds of tons of usable wood for construction, making the tree sometimes being favored over metals such as iron. Sometimes, the tree itself will be used as a structure, with several locations, such as the city of Sila's Woods, building rooms inside of the trees themselves as the larger ones can hold enough space to create small complexes.

Wiega grass

Wiega Grass seen growing at the roots of the Wiega Tree.

Growing all around the tree, a specific a unique type of moss called: "Wiega Grass" is created through chemical secretions made from the wood with interactions of charged particles hitting it from the planet's parent sun, Hope. This grass is used to entice various creatures, such as birds, to feed upon it, thus dropping the seeds placed within the moss towards the ground. As such, many species of avian creatures will rely on the tree for a limited form sustenance, as the moss itself cannot be eaten in very large quantities as it can be poisonous in large doses, though some species are a immune to this affect.

"The Ceving Tree is the living example of Haven's winter beauty, with its snow-white coloring across its brilliantly crafted structure. Despite their commonality, one should always find it to be a privilege to see their beautiful spender whenever one gets the chance to."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Ceving Tree: Overview[]

Ceving Tree

A typical Ceving Tree.

The Ceving Tree - Also known as the "Snow-Wood" is a common species of tree located in colder regions of the planet, such as taigas and arctics of southern Ruhiel, and northern Vanriel respectively, along with some of the other colder areas of Haven's continents and islands, with a global population of around two hundred billion individual trees. They are most well known for their snow-white coloring in both their wood, and their pine leaves. They are often beloved by those who live near them, as their white leaves remind one of the beautiful magical winter wonderland northern Haven truly is.

Ceving Tree: Physical[]

The Ceving Tree's baseline physical appearance and structure resembles a small Haven Pine tree, however there are a few differentiating features between the two species of tree. The first and most obvious is the coloring the Ceving Tree has, with a bright and piercing white finish in their woods, making them appear like large pieces of upright snow, though in some cases darker regions of the wood have been known to occur in some trees. This white coloring extends to their pine leaves as well, giving them a similar appearance to a snow-covered Haven Pine Tree. Unlike Haven Pine Trees however, the Ceving Tree typically does not grow very large, usually only growing to a maximum height of around twenty feet long. The wood that makes up their structure is also fairly weak, taking around fifty-two pounds per square inch to break it.

Unlike most species of tree on Haven, the Ceving Tree does not require vast amounts of sun light, as they typically grow in areas where the nights are long. As a result, they only require around a third of the sunlight other similar tree species need to survive. They are among some of the most efficient species of flora in the world when it comes to absorbing water, as they constantly gather the water within the snow they sit upon. Typically, it will take around fifty-seven standard years for a Ceving Tree to fully grow from a pine cone, which also share the same snow-white coloring their parent trees do.

Ceving Tree: Usage[]

As their wood is very week, the Ceving Tree is not typically used in the construction of any buildings. Instead, many pieces of furniture and other decorations are created with delicate precision and care, creating vibrantly beautiful pieces of art out of the snow-white wood. Along with its usage in artwork, it is often used in cultural pieces and iconography in cities, towns and other settlements located in colder areas where the tree is known to grow, such as the city of Hevin Log in western Zazriel, which incidentally stands as the only example on the planet where Ceving Trees are known to grow in a warm climate.

Certain small animals are known to have specifically evolve to puncture the wood of the Ceving Tree to drink from the vast amounts of liquid water the respective tree absorbs from the snow. These aforementioned animals are usually certain species of bird, however some insects are known to do the same. Often times, birds will create nests from the twigs and leaves of the tree, perching them on the higher branches of the individual tree.

"One of the most morbid looking trees Haven has to offer, the Rot Wood always gave me an inescapable sense of dread whenever I came across one. The land in which they grow also shares the same atmosphere as they do, making various swamps feel like one is walking through a diralect and forgotten cemetery. Despite that, one can find beauty in the faded-grey coloring they have, as they are easy and soothing to observe."--William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Rot-Wood 2

A typical Rot Wood tree.

Rot Wood: Overview[]

The Rot Wood Tree, also known as the: "Dead Tree," is a very common species of tree that is found in swamps, bog lands, marshes, and certain damp forests, with a global population of around five hundred billion individual trees. Their name comes from their physical appearance, making one look like a dead and rotting tree. They are most famous for being one of the longest living species of tree found on planet Haven, having an average life span of around twenty thousand standard years, as well as being one of the oldest species of tree to evolved during Haven's early regrowth period, fully evolving around 539,050,000 BCE.

Rot Wood: Physical[]

As the name suggests, the Rot Wood tree appears as if it is the carcass of a long dead tree. However they couldn't be anymore alive and healthy, often times being more healthy then more aesthetically pleasing species' of tree. The wood that comprises their structure is very durable, taking around two thousand pounds per square inch to break its structure, slightly less then that of Haven Oak Trees. They are almost always fairly short, usually growing at a maximum height of around twenty-five feet, though in more uncommon cases they are known to grow up to forty feet, however these are few and far between.

Usually, it will take a Rot Wood tree around fifty standard years to fully grow, and as previously stated, they live for an enormous amount of time, making them usually the oldest individual trees one will find on Haven. They will typically grow in a crooked and slightly slanted manner, making it appear as if the tree is at risk of falling over. As a Rot Wood tree grows, it will constantly create new branches, making older Rot Wood trees appear like a giant bush of branches, obscuring the main trunk of the tree they are apart. These branches will often times grow inside one another, as well, they will commonly fall off, leaving the bottoms of a Rot Wood tree look like a debris field.

Rot Wood: Usage[]

Due to their commonality, as well as the sturdy makeup of their wood, the Rot Wood tree are typically used in the construction of buildings, furniture, walls, and so on in settlements located in or near swamps, marshes and bog lands, leaving the structures of said settlement appearing with a dead greyish coloring, leading to many painting their homes to have more aesthetically pleasing colors. With their large numbers, the Rot Wood serve as one of the most populace resources at the planet's disposal, with almost every city located within areas they grow using it as a fundamental pillar of their resource consumption.

Along with intelligent individuals, many species of flora and fauna use the Rot Wood tree. Typically, various species of moss can be seen growing on the sides of the tree, gathering water the tree itself gathers and vice versa, forming a symbiotic relationship between them. Along with this, many species of birds native to swamps, marshes, and bog lands make their respective nests on the many branches of the Rot Wood tree. As well, various species of insects also make their home within the trunks of the Rot Wood tree, creating large elaborate nests throughout the length of it and towards its respective branches.

"The Bridge Root tree is a personal favorite of mine. During my trek across Haven, I cannot count the amount of times I used their powerful bodies to walk across the many rivers during my trek around the world. It's given me a special sort of: "kinship" with these trees as they assisted me greatly all those many years ago." -William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Bridge Root Overview[]

Tree bridge

Two young bridge root trees growing over a small river.

Bridge Root trees are a fairly common species of tree found exclusively near fresh water rivers, with a global population of around ten billion individual trees across Haven. Their name comes from their unorthodox growing method, as they grow over the tops of the river they are located at, connecting itself across the two sections of land the river cuts through, creating a bridge between them.

Bridge Root: Physical[]

The Bridge Root tree's baseline physical appearance resembles that of a Haven Oak tree that has fallen over across a river, and like the Haven Oak, individual Bridge Root trees can vary widely from each other in size, length and appearance, as some have been known to grow up to three hundred feet in length. They are one of the most effective trees on Haven when it comes to absorbing water, as they have several long roots that extend down from the main tree trunk towards the bottom of the water below them, constantly gathering the endless water that surrounds them. As well as the bottom of the river, their roots are also embedded on the land across the river, meaning the Bridge Root is extremely sturdy, taking around thirty-eight thousand pounds per square inch to break their hold on the ground.

Bridgeroot

An older Bridgeroot tree seen growing across the southeastern banks of the Mystia River during a foggy mid-afternoon.

It will typically take a Bridge Root around fifty standard years to fully grow, though this can depend on the length of the river the respective tree is growing across. As a Bridge Root ages, it will grow wider and longer, as well as gaining a dirt like texture and coloring on top of its trunk and branches. Sometimes, a Bridge Root tree will grow in a winding and twisting pattern, depending on how the river they grow across flows throughout the land, tough in most cases it will grow in a flat horizontal line.

Bridge Root: Usage[]

Due to the nature in which Bridge Root trees grow, their wood is not commonly used in the construction of buildings or other items. Instead, larger Bridge Root trees are often times carved to form actual usable bridges to cross the respective rivers they grow across. These elaborately crafted bridges are often times extremely sturdy, allowing thousands of individuals and even several large vehicles to cross the bridge without fear of the wood they stand upon breaking beneath them. Often times, these examples of Bridge Root trees are used to link separate sections of settlements built across a river, or even completely different settlements.

Certain species of terrestrial fauna are also known to take advantage of a Bridge Root tree's advantageous position across a river, using it to safely guide themselves across to the other side and avoid would be predators in the waters below. Along with fauna, many species of flower, grass and moss grow on the tops of the Bridge Root tree's trunk as well, making older and larger Bridge Roots a small ecosystem in their own right.

"Rose-Wood is certainly a show stopper of a tree. Walking the Path of Rubies has got to be one of my favorite moments during my journey. But sadly, like most beautiful things in life, they're few and far between. If you'd like to do your part in preserving this beauty, please attempt to grow your own Rose-Wood tree, as their acorns are available through various means."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Rose-Wood: Overview []

Rose Wood 1

An average Rose-Wood tree.

The Rose-Wood, also known as: "Ruby-Wood," "Crimson-Wood," or: " Blood Wood" is an uncommon form of tree native to various landmasses on Haven, though it is most prevalent in the One Wood of the continent of Zazriel and the island of Bloodmoore. They are famed for the crimson-red coloring of both its wood, and its leaves, hence its name, thanks to this, they are held in extreme cultural standing with the native inhabitants of Haven, as such the cutting down of the Rose-Wood tree is extremely taboo, though not legally prohibited.

Rose-Wood: Physical[]

Rose-Wood trees are one of the most unique families of trees native to planet Haven, holding many traits only known to them. Unlike most trees of Haven, the Rose-Wood are almost entirely uniform in height, girth, and volume. The maximum height for nearly all Rose-Wood trees is around sixteen feet, making forests of the tree seem fairly short compared to other forests across Haven. Their wood isn't incredibly durable, only taking around two hundred and fifty-two pounds per square inch to break its structure, making it not recommended to use it in the construction of important structures.

Typically, a Rose-Wood will take thirty standard years to fully mature, and due to their fairly low acorn production rate, with around three acorns produced per standard year, they are fairly uncommon and do not spread very far. In areas where they are known to inhabit, they are usually clustered together in small forests. Their leaves are incredibly soft, almost feeling like silk, and like the Haven Pine tree family, these leaves fall extremely often, with one tree losing up to a hundred leaves per standard day. However, the Rose-Wood's respective leaves grow extremely quickly, with a new leaf fully maturing in just two standard hours, making each individual Rose-Wood tree a leaf production machine.

Rose-Wood: Usage[]

Rose Wood

The famous: "Path of Rubies" walkway, in the Ruby Forest of Zazriel, with a line of Rose-Wood trees extending for several kilometres.

Do to the cultural significance the Rose-Wood tree has in many areas of Haven, its usage in construction is used to an absolute minimum, as well as the wood itself being fairly weak. Instead, Rose-Wood is most typically used in private gardens, or tree farms, with individuals attempting to keep a large selection of the tree.

Certain fauna will often use the incredibly soft leaves as bedding for a nest, making it as comfortable as a luxurious bed. As the leaves are fairly small individually, an animal looking to use them as a nest would need to have a fair amount of them.

Exclusive Tree Flora (not complete)[]

"During my trek across Haven, I can count all Blood Hollow trees I've encountered on one hand. At the time I thought they were an oddly shaped Rose-Wood tree, but since its wood was black rather then red, I would begin to think otherwise. As I approached it, I watched as a Cumone landed on its leaves, only to then fall over dead almost immediately, which in turn taught me to stay away from it." -William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Blood-Hollow

An average Blood Hollow tree during dusk, with its red leaves illuminating the area around itself.

Blood Hollow: Overview []

Blood Hollow are an extremely rare tree native exclusively in the small island of Bloodmoore, located in the eastern Geilda Ocean. They are famed for the blood-red coloring of their leaves and have been likened to that of the Rose-Wood tree due to their similar hue, and it is believed that they are a genus of the Rose-Wood, due to its native island massive amounts of Rose-Woods trees. They are very rare, with only a handful known to exist across the entire Bloodmoore Island, and thanks to this, they have become a very popular tourist stop for many, though one will want to be cautious when approaching the trees as their leaves are very poisonous. They are very short lived, only having a lifespan of around sixteen standard years.

Blood Hollow: Physical[]

The physical appearance of a Blood Hollow tree looks like a wilted and dying Rose-Wood tree, with branches pointed downward and a crooked trunk, giving a somewhat somber atmosphere around it. Its branches are extremely frail, with an individual being able to tear them off with minimal effort, as well, its overall structure is incredibly weak, only taking around eighty pounds per square inch to crack it. Blood Hollow trees will almost always be alone in its respective area, with no other trees growing around it, as a Blood Hollow tree's roots extent for several meters in all directions, preventing the growth of any other nearby tree.

It will typically take around sixteen standard years for a Blood Hollow tree to fully grow, and they all share a common height of only sixteen feet, growing a foot for each year of its life. And once they begin to die, they will leave the only acorn the produce throughout their entire life, making a new tree take its place. Their leaves as previously mentioned are exceptionally poisonous to the touch for most animals, as it evolved to protect against small insects from feeding upon them. These leaves also glow with an ominous red glow through a form of bioluminescence, though there doesn't seem to be an exact reason as to why this is. This light produced by the tree ironically entices insects to said leaves, making the tree a living bug zapper.

Blood Hollow: Usage[]

As the Blood Hollow tree remains one of the rarest trees on planet Haven, as well as its dangerous nature, the Ambrosia Alliance has outlawed any attempts to cut down the tree and use its wood for any purpose. Instead, observatories have been built around select Blood Hollow trees for Haven flora enthusiasts, leading to the tree's acorns being extremely sought after by tree keepers.

Almost every Blood Hollow tree known functions as a nest for the insect known as the: "Blood-Ants," an extremely aggressive species of ant native to the island of Bloodmoore, and is the only tree known to house them. The ants themselves create long and elaborate mazes of corridors across the entire length and volume of the tree, usually having a population of hundreds of millions in a single tree. They will also often eat the insects outside of the tree who died while attempting to eat its poisonous leaves.

Widespread Flower Flora[]

"The Ruby Blossom. The flower of folklore and song, with its pleasant aroma enticing all who smell it, it's no wonder it has left its mark on Haven culture as much as it has. Though personally, I've never been too big of a fan of it, but I guess fifty billion people can't be wrong, can they?"-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Ruby Blossom: Overview[]

Ruby Blossom

A typical Ruby Blossom flower.

The Ruby Blossom is an extremely common species of rosaceae (rose) flowers found all across Haven's temperate forests, plains and grasslands, with a theorized global population of around one trillion individual flowers in the world. Due to their commonality, they have become a very famous piece of Haven's world wide culture, appearing in countless pieces of cultural art and iconography, as well as being one the most purchased living organisms on the planet. They have an average lifespan of around thirty standard years.

Ruby Blossom: Physical[]

The Ruby Blossom baseline physical appearance is almost an exact duplicate to that of the: "Rose" variety flowers found on numerous other planets such as Earth . They are comprised of a singular large stem extending from the ground, with many sharp thorns protruding across it, which are used to deter any small species of fauna that would wish to eat upon it. Located across this stem, many green colored leaves are grow in random patterns, forming thick bushes with other nearby Ruby Blossom stems. At the top of the stem, the main Ruby Blossom flower grows, initially forming as a bud, and as Haven's spring comes into affect, the bud will blossom, forming the piercing red flower. The flower themselves share a universal hue of bright crimson, but as the individual Ruby Blossom flower ages, its color will begin to darken, creating a faded maroon coloring.

The pedals of a Ruby Blossom flower have a velvety and soft texture to them, making the flower feel like well felted cloth. As well, they produce an extremely powerful and perfume-like smell from themselves, which the flower uses to entice pollinating insects to the respective flower. As winter comes about, the Ruby Blossom flower will begin to retract itself back into the stem, forming into a bud once more, and with the eve of spring, the flower will blossom anew.

Ruby Blossom: Usage[]

Ruby Blossoms are most commonly used as ornamental plants, usually grown in large outdoor gardens, as well as some indoor areas. The aroma produced by the Ruby Blossom flower is the most famed aspect of the flower, with many growing the flower to make their respective residence smell good. As well, many types of perfume often use ground-up Ruby Blossom pedals to replicate their pleasing aroma.

As the smell produced by the Rose Wood Blossom flower's pedals are meant to entice small pollinating insects to them, many of said species feed off of the nectar produced by the flower, pollinating it in the process. Along with insects, several species of herbivore mammals and birds often times feed on the flower itself, as well as the many leaves that grow along its stem.

"The Paro Flower holds a certain special place within my heart, as it was the first gift I would give to my beloved wife, Anora. She would always speak of the glamorous pink colored pedals of the flower, as well as the entrancing scent produced by them, so when I showed her our new pond filled to the brim with Paro Flower pods, she was elated. Never forget the small moments with loved ones, as they are sometimes the greatest memories you may one day have of them."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora Illustrated.

Paro Flower

A pod of Paro Flowers seen floating across a small pond.

Paro Flower: Overview[]

The Paro Flower are a common species of aquatic lilium (lily) flower found all across Haven's temperate small fresh water aquatic bodies such as ponds and streams, with a global population theorized to be around two hundred billion individual flowers. As they are quite common, the Paro Flower is a fairly famous flower among the sapient populace of planet Haven, often times being used in effigies, artwork and other pieces of iconography. Typically, a Paro Flower will have an average lifespan of around five standard years, before dissolving into the water they inhabit.

Paro Flower: Physical[]

The Paro Flower's baseline physical appearance and structure is fairly unique among the species of lilium as they have a very wet and slippery texture to their respective pedals. They grow from a singular seed secreted by a Paro Flower pod at the end of their life cycle, which will then float across the waters it was birthed in until' eventually flowering into a large pod of flowers, with the amount ranging from as little as five, to as many as sixty, with the pattern of which ranging widely as well. Located across the Paro Flower pod, small stems connect the various flowers together, forming them into a single mass of flowers. These stems are very frail, with the slightest of disturbance breaking its structure. However the respective stem that was broken will almost immediately begin to regrow itself as to ensure the the pod remains in tact.

The pedals of the Paro Flower universally take the same hue of pinks, light reds and blues, with no documented variation in color across the entire planet's population of the flower. This uniformity is fairly uncommon among Haven-born flower species as in most cases one will be able to find at least the slightest amount of color variation, but the Paro Flower's coloring will look identical the one-thousandth time one observes the flower. These pedals also produce an enchantingly pleasant aroma to entice various aquatic pollinating insects to them, which they are quite successful at.

Paro Flower: Usage[]

The Paro Flower is most commonly used by the sapient populace of Haven as a form perfume, as the scent produced by the flower is quite pleasing to most who are fortunate to experience it. Along with perfume, many people who have ponds, fountains or streams on their homestead will use the Paro Flower to accent the respective waters located within them to give off an aesthetically beautiful appearance.

Many species of aquatic insect fauna partake in the nectar produced by the flower to entice them, pollinating the flower by proxy. Along with insects, several species of aquatic bird will eat the flowers pedals, along with certain species of fresh water dwelling fish, which will rise from the depths of the respective pond or stream the Paro Flower is located, then proceed to consume the flower from underneath it.

"The Velooma flower are synonymous with revulsion. Their pungent smell make's one think of rot and death, but despite that, the crimson red hue they all share is very alluring to me. It really goes to show the duality of beauty, as something that make be beautiful on the outside, may be horrid on the inside."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Velooma: Overview[]

Velooma

A typical Velooma pod.

Velooma are an exceptionally rare species of flower native to various regions across planet Haven, though they are known to exist in the largest quantities on the River of Blood on the island of Bloodmoore. They have an estimated population of only around thirty-seven thousand individual flower bushes. They are a unique species of rosaceae (rose) and are the only one's on the planet known to exhibit its respective unique traits.

Velooma: Physical[]

The Velooma's physical structure and appearance stands out among the countless other species of flower known to inhabit Haven. The Velooma Flower grow in large pods that extend to about four feet in diameter. Within these pods, several individual Velooma pedals grow out from the pods' main structure, which appears red with patches of blue coloring located at the middle and the tops of the flower. They grow in warmer, arid and sandy bodies of land near the banks of water, typically on beaches and the banks of rivers. Typically, a Velooma flower will take around five standard years to fully grow, and will have a lifespan of around forty-nine standard years.

They have a strange liquid and slimy texture to themselves, which was evolved to make it difficult for small insects to land on the flower to feast upon it, making them slip off of the flower. If one attempts to grab a Velooma flower's individual pedals, then it will seemingly melt in one's hand, and begin to drip with red liquid. This liquid produces a pungent odor that smells akin to that of a rotting corpse, which has been developed to dissuade animals in eating the flower, which it is quite effective at, as almost no creature is known to eat Velooma flowers.

Velooma: Usage[]

Due to both their rarity, and the foul smell they emit, the Velooma flower is almost never used for any ornamental purpose by any of Haven's intelligent populace. Instead, they are often replicated in labs and used in the creation of sprays meant to ward off predators from crops and livestock, which it is fairly successful at, being one of the most effective natural deterrents used.

As previously stated, the Velooma is designed to ward off any herbivore and omnivore fauna that attempts to eat it, however the only exception to the rule comes from the so called: "Velooma Monster," an animal native to Bloodmoore. The Velooma Monster is a large insect that feeds off of the many Velooma flower pedals that are located across the River of Blood, and often times responsible for their continued existence on the island, as it will replant the flower with seeds left over during its consumption, ensuring the continued production of more food.

Widespread Cactaceae Flora[]

"Ah the Lekiet. By far one of the most painful experiences I've had during my trek across Haven. Oh, I remember it very well. As I was walking across the sandy slops of the Delthathiem Island, the area in which I stood gave way, and I plummeted towards a large Lekiet bush, only to land on said bush and impale countless of its spikes into myself. No one said this job was easy."William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Lekiet: Overview []

Lekeit

A Lekiet bush seen growing in a small crevice in the ground.

The Lekiet are a common species of Cactaceae (cactus), with a global population of around three billion, they are most commonly found in the many deserts and badlands across planet Haven, though some are known to grow in more temperate regions. They are one of the most common species of cactus across Haven, being the third overall most populace. Thanks to this, they are a fairly common piece used in various works of cultural art and iconography.

Lekiet: Physical[]

Like most species of cactus, the Lekiet have a long stem extending upwards with several spiked thorns located all across it. The predominant function of thorns, is deterring herbivore fauna in consuming the Lekiet. These thorns are fairly dull when comparing them to other cactus species, requiring one to put a fair amount of force to get them to pierce skin. They grow in large bushes from a singular root embedded deep within the ground, white large individual stems extending for several feet in the rock and sand. They typically grow up to fifteen feet in diameter, though some can grow to the upper twenty's, making large spiked fields all on their own.

Unlike many species of cactus across Haven, the Lekiet lack any form of flower, instead, they reproduce by shooting out seeds at the end of the summer, similar to that of sponges. Due to the dry climate of the area in which they inhabit, they do not require vast amounts of water to survive, and the water they do mange to consume comes from small amounts of it located deep within the rock and sand they grow upon.

Lekiet: Usage[]

Despite the Lekiet's hostile nature towards other living things, they are often times used as both ornamental plants, and functional tools by the Haven populace. As ornamental plants, many will try to keep a large garden of Lekiet in outdoor areas, while as a tool, the Lekiet is grown in an encircling line around produce, creating a defense barrier against herbivore and omnivore fauna that attempt to eat the produce it is protecting. As well, the juice secreted by the Lekiet cactus are often used in various medicines and oils, as they give off a soothing feeling when one puts it against their skin.

Certain species of fauna have evolved specifically to eat various cactus plant, and the Lekiet are no different, often times being consumed by said species. Many species of insect also make their homes in between the various branches of a Lekiet bush, as they are small enough to traverse the spikes without being put in danger. Some species of birds nest on the tops of a Lekiet bush as well, since the spiked plant provides a sense of security to the bird from would be attackers.

Widespread Aquinlumismeridiem Flora[]

"Viphid. The gorgeous violet light of the deep. When my travels turned towards the deep of Haven's endless oceans, I was amazed to see the numerous clusters of violet light fill my view within the darkened depths. Truly, even in the deepest and darkest depths, Haven's beauty is ever lasting."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Viphid: Overview[]

Viphid

A cluster of Viphid located deep within the Geilda Ocean.

Viphid are a common species of aquatic Aquinlumismeridiem native to many salt water bodies across Haven, though they are most commonly found near the deeper depths of the Geilda Ocean, or clustered around deep hydrothermal vents located within the aforementioned ocean. The Viphid have a theorized global population of around fifty-seven billion. Due to their commonality, the Viphid are a fairly famous species of flora across Haven's various cultures, often times appearing in various works of cultural art and iconography.

Viphid: Physical[]

The Viphid are among the most common species of Aquinlumismeridiem flora on Haven and as such, they share all of the baseline traits of the phylum. The Viphid consist of a long, stalk of graphite textured hardened AquinluminIfrarqel, which is a chemical compound exclusive to the Aquinlumismeridiem. At the end of this stalk, multiple pieces of hardened AquinluminIfrarqel jut outward in a similar manner to a typical flower species that take the natural bioluminescence the aforementioned compound takes under the cover of darkness. Their physical structure is fairly durable for the respective family they belong to, often times taking great amounts of force to break its structure, as it had to evolve as such to be able to withstand the great amounts of pressure its respective native environment inflicts upon it, usually taking around eight thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight pounds per square inch to break its structure. They also hold one of the longest lifespans of any species of Aquinlumismeridiem, having an average lifespan of around eighty hundred and sixty-seven standard years.

Viphid, unlike some of its contemporaries, does not grow as large cluster. Instead, the Viphid grow as a singular stalk that will begin to shoot out saplings all around itself, causing more singular Viphid stalks to grow, making it appear as if it grew originally as a cluster. The Viphid also use its bioluminescence to entice various deep sea species of Fauna to partake in its blossoming stalks to spread their saplings even farther outwards.

Viphid: Usage[]

Due to both their commonality, and their extremely durable structure, the Viphid are often times used in the construction of many things such as underwater habitats and colonies, along with some surface structures and colonies as well. Along with being used for particle construction, the Viphid is also often used in many decretive pieces due to the violet light they naturally produce, with many people using the plant to illuminate an aquarium of theirs.

Many aquatic species, such as various deep sea fish consume the illuminating parts of the Viphid as they are designed to be ingested by creatures with the purpose of spreading the respective Viphid's saplings farther then it would otherwise be capable of doing. Along with using the Viphid for sustenance, many predatory aquatic species will use the Aquinlumismeridiem as a way of entrapping prey, patiently waiting for prey animals to be entranced by its violet glow, then strike as their guard is down.

"The Azulithilid are admittedly my favorite species of Aquinlumismeridiem across all of Haven, as their azure-blue glow among the deep dark waters of her endless ocean is my favorite of all colors that the universe has to offer. Whenever I came across one them during my trek across the deep, I took a moment to appreciate the great sapphire glow of their strucutre."-William Tancard's: Haven-Born Flora illustrated.

Azulithilid: Overview[]

Azulithilid

A grouping of two Azulithilid.

The Azulithilid are a common species of aquatic Aquinlumismeridiem native to many deep sea locations across Haven's salt water oceans, though they are most commonly found within the southern Geilda Ocean, towards the continent of Vanriel, as they will typically grow in larger number in colder climates. The Azulithilid have a theorized global population of around twenty billion. Serving as one of the most common Aquinlumismeridiem, the Azulithilid is a very famous species of aquatic flora among Haven's sapient populace, being used in the creation of numerous pieces of cultural art and iconography.

Azulithilid: Physical[]

The Azulithilid share many of the common traits known to species who fall under the Aquinlumismeridiem phylum, however they have fairly unique configuration in which they grow, forming a strange web-like maze of various stalks made from hardened AquinluminIfrarqel, giving the respective individual Azulithilid a glass-like texture and appearance. And much alike most Aquinlumismeridiem flora species of Haven, the Azulithilid glow in a constant, faint blue colored light through a process of bioluminescence the chemical of AquinuminIfrarqel takes once obscured from natural light. Which the Azulithilid uses to entice deep sea species of fauna to partake in consuming its stalks, which in turn will spread it saplings farther out into the deep then its normal sapling secretion method.

Unlike many Aquinlumismeridiem species that exist in depths as great as the Azulithilid exist within, the aforementioned species are fairly brittle, being able to be broken with very little effort by most aquatic species of fauna. As a result, an Azulithilid will have its stalks constantly broken in half by the slightest of nudges from a creature, and it will begin to regrow itself, only taking a standard hour to regrow completely, this time frame also applies to the saplings of the Azulithilid, as they spring up from a sapling only a standard hour after their creation.

Azulithilid: Usage[]

Due to how brittle and weak the Azulithilid's structure is compared to other Aquinlumismeridiem species, the sapient populace of Haven does not often use the Azulithilid in the construction of structures or many objects. The notable exception would be that the Azulithilid is often times used in the creation of various pieces of jewelry, such as rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets, as the dim azure-blue light produced by them is considered to be very aesthetically appealing by many. The majority of the time however, many of Haven's people use them to illuminate aquariums of theirs, as well as giving other ambient pools of water a deep blue glow.

Along with sapient species preferring other Aquinlumismeridiem species in the creation of protective structures, various species of aquatic fauna usually ignore the Azulithilid, with the exception for sustenance. However, some small species of fish have been known to create small nests within the maze-like layout of its stalks, laying their eggs deep within the sand to further protect them. This may seem foolish, however the blue glow produced by the respective Azulithilid has been shown to divert a would be predator's attention away from the fish and their clutch and will cause them to eat their fill with the aforemetnioned Aquinlumismeridiem instead.

Rodent Mammalian Fauna[]

"The Cumone, to me, are the cutest of Haven's many furry critters. They are so miniature, it's often times hard to even see them. And the little squeaking noise they make as they flap their tiny wings melts my heart whenever I hear it."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Cumone

A Cumone seen perched on a leaf.

Cumone: Overview[]

The Cumone are a common species of areal rodent prey mammalian organisms native to the many temperate forests across planet Haven, that resemble a small ball shaped aerial rodent. They are most famous for being the smallest mammal species on the planet, only having a maximum length of one inch and a weight of around two grams. They are an extremely common animal, with a global population of around eight billion individual Cumone, and as a result, have become a fundamental pillar of many forests' respective food chains.

They are very often kept as pets by Haven's intelligent populace, with large amounts of the creature being kept in large colonies of hundreds of individual Cumones. As well, wild Cumone have been labeled as an invasive pest species, as they travel in large numbers and pose a risk to crops of produce as they move across the country side, eating thousands of tons of produce and hundreds of acres of farmland.

Cumone: Physical[]

The Cumone have a rounded, spherical shape with a bipedal build. They have two small legs that are obscured by the thin fur that surrounds them, each having a bird like talon appendage at the end, which the Cumone uses to dig into small leaves and branches. They bodies evolved in a rounded shape in order to better insulate the internal heat within their bodies, as the thick winds they traverse would otherwise freeze them, as well, it also gives them a fairly aerodynamic build, being able to travel across wind currents.

Unlike most prey species, the Cumone have two front-facing eyes, which the Cumone uses to see nearby areas in which to land with expert precision, being able to assess the perfect landing spot by just giving a glace at its surroundings. Despite their expert attention to detail however, their vision range is not very far, only being able to see about thirteen feet in front of themselves. However their hearing range is very impressive, being able to hear things up to a kilometer away, allowing them to pinpoint any would be danger. It has whiskers on the side of its face that they use to stabilize themselves when they land on an object.

Located at the sides of their bodies are two butterfly-like wings that are retracted into their thick fur coating. Once unfurled, these wings take on a translucent, see-through appearance. On the wings, various miniature scales are located all across them, which are used to decrease the amount of drag given to them by the wind current the respective Cumone flies through. Long crack-like patterns are spread across the wings as well, which are used to allow the wings to bend and flap against the wind, allowing the Cumone to fly. They are extremely fast when flying, being able to fly up to forty kilometres an hour. The Cumone moves so quickly, that it often times needs to land to get a rough idea of where it is as its brain is unable to perceive the light around it when going at maximum speed. These wings have a diameter of only around half an inch in length, making it very hard to see.

The Cumone lack wings at birth, and during their early years, they will slowly begin to grow from the sides of their bodies. As a result, the Cumone is utterly dependent on their mother as they grow into adulthood, as without their wings, they are unable to locate any food, as well as avoid would be predators. It will typically take around a standard year for the Cumone to fully grow.

Cumone: Behavior[]

Most Cumone will spend their entire lives foraging for food and water, as well as finding a mate. During the day, the Cumone will fly about its native forest, searching for optimal leaves to feed upon as they are able to determine the water content within said leaf. They will also constantly emit a small squeaking sounds, which they use to locate a mate of the opposite gender, This is a trait that all Cumone share, and they as a collective do so each and every day, leading to the species large population count.

A Cumone will also have a specific nest located atop of a small branch. These nests are typically made out of small twigs, leaves and grass gathered by the Cumone, and will only be about five inches in diameter, allowing for plenty of space for two adult Cumone and a clutch of litter. During the winter months, the Cumone will hibernate in these nests, creating a small cover for the nest out of thick leaves to provide a barrier from the cold.

Cumone exist in large colonies, spread about several trees and nests. These communities of Cumone range widely among different colonies, with some as small as about twenty Cumone, to as a large as a few thousand. They are extremely territorial as well, if an adult Cumone from a foreign colony attempts to encroach on their respective territory, then they will attack the intruder. New members are inducted when one mates with an individual Cumone that is already apart of a colony, and their respective litter will be included among them as well.

"The Gripter are an interesting creature to say the least. Seeing htem jump their way across the rocky crags I traversed during my venture across Haven was one of the most humerous moments....but there's nothing humerous when it comes to their strength. Anytime I was made witness to them catching various species of insect, I watched as the poor creature attempted to free itself from its grip of iron, only to always fail and be consumed. I would dread the day I was shrunk to a level where the Gripter would think I look like a tasty snack."--William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Gripter

A brown-colored Gripter seen sitting upon a small rock.

Gripter: Overview[]

The Gripter are a common species of rodent mammalian organisms native to the many rocky outcroppings across Haven. They resemble various species of rodent, but most closely appear like rodents belonging to the Sciuridae (squirrel/chipmunk) family of rodents. Their name comes from their famous front and back paws, allowing them to grip onto objects very easily. They are extremely common, having a global population of around three billion individual members and they can be found in almost any rocky or barren temperate landscape on planet Haven, always hiding among the many cracks and crags located therein.

Due to their commonality, they are often labled as a: "pest species" and private residents in areas where they are known to inhabit are exempt from the typical laws prohibiting the hunting of Haven-Born fauna, and are given free reign to trap or exterminate them as Gripters often times can lay waste to many gardens of essential produce an individual may be keeping. Often times however, Gripters will be kept as pets by Haven's populace, and are one of the most popular rodent mammals to be kept by sapient individuals.

Gripter: Physical[]

Gripters have a quadruped build and share many commonalities to their cousin species, the Haven Squirrel, however they often times grow much larger then that of the aforementioned species of rodent, usually growing to length of around a foot (0.3048 meters) or more, and an average weight of around twenty five pounds. (11 kilograms) Across their body, many finely grown hairs have been specifically developed to be able to withstand the thick winds of their native environment, as well as providing protection from the rough terrain they cross on a daily basis.

A rather unique trait among the Gripter compared to its contemporaries of its respective family it belongs to is that the Gripter is an omnivore species, as they often times need to supplement vegetation with fresh meat due to the lack of many species of flora in their native environment. As a result, the Gripter has evolved to be able to close in on prey very quickly, being able to clock speeds up to thirty five kilometers per standard hour.

Along with great speeds, the Gripter has specially developed eyes and noses to be able to locate small prey insects and various other small fauna, being able to see up to a kilometer in a distance, as well as being able to notice the smallest detail out of place atop the rocky surface they are walking upon. Their noses are able to give them a similar ability, being able to detect very faint smells produced by various species of prey. Their hearing on the other hand isn't anything to write home about, only being able to hear in close proximity to itself, leading it to rely on the two aforementioned methods above all others.

Their name comes from their famed ability to grip objects, as they evolved with powerful opposable thumbs to both grip would be food, as well as traverse their native environment more easily. As a result, the Gripter is able to grab ahold of the rocky surface, and with its specially developed legs, it will fling itself across the many cracks they may otherwise fall into. With this, the Gripter is able to safely cross the hazardous ground, pounce upon prey, as well as avoid would be predators, being able to fling themselves up to four feet vertically, meaning their predators need to be extremely fast themselves. If they manage to ensnare prey, they will lock them in their grip with almost an iron-like vice, requiring a large amount of force for it to break its grasp on the unfortunate creature it has caught.

Gripter: Behavior[]

The Gripter inherently are a very skittish creature, often times fleeing from the smallest sound made in their general direction, as well as any animal that may only be slightly larger then themselves. They are also fairly aggressive, as they will more often then not attack any other Gripter that comes within proximity of their nest. However once the Gripter mating season begins, which typically happens on Haven's local mid summer months, the Gripter will become much more passive, and will begin to search for a mate of the opposite sex.

Once a mate is found, the two will begin to create a nest together within a small crack or crag they find, covering any entrances with debris they discover. After the female Gripter becomes pregnant, the male Gripter will begin to search for food to bring back to her as she awaits to give birth, which will typically take around a standard month after conception. A female Gripter will typically have a litter of around two to three Gripters, which will typically take around half a standard year to fully grow, until' they too leave the nest and begin to search for a mate themselves.

Feline Mammalian Fauna (not complete)[]

"The Pulvis Cat, or as I like to call them: "Dirty Cat" is a creature that often times made me somewhat frustrated during my trek across Haven. They are so adorable, I always wanted to pet their small fluffy heads whenever I came across one, but they'd always dart away from me at great speeds, usually jumping its way on tops of tall trees. It always made me incredibly sad, but then I managed to get myself a demsicated one and she has been a faithful friend ever since."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Pulvis Cat: Overview[]

Pulvis Cat

A faded red-colored Pulvis Cat seen sitting on a small patch of dirt and grass.

Pulvis Cat are a common species of feline predator mammalian organisms native to many temperate forests, plains, deserts and badlands across planet Haven. They resemble a mix of the "Persian Longhair" species of feline, and the "Vulpes vulpes" (red fox) species of canine, sharing several physical traits with the two. The Pulvis Cat is a very common animal, being easily found all across Haven's temperate climates, with a theorized global population of around fifty-two million individuals. They can often times be found in small packs or colonies of several Pulvis Cats hunting and coexisting together.

Thanks to their commonality, the Pulvis Cat is a fairly famous animal among the many cultures across planet Haven, appearing in many pieces of cultural art and iconography. Along with appearing in art, the Pulvis Cat is often times kept as a house pet by much of the planet's populace, as they are a fairly low maintenance pet. Most famously, the: "Pulvis Crossers," an illegal gang of ravagers found in the southern regions of the Bariquel continent use the Pulvis Cat as their symbol and namesake, as they often times implement tactics of the Pulvis Cat in their illegal doings.

Pulvis Cat: Physical[]

The Pulvis Cat's baseline physical appearance is as feline as one can find on Haven, having a quadruped build with two front facing eyes, a slanted snout on the center of its rounded face, and two ears atop their head, along with two sets of five whiskers on the their cheeks in order to assist them in balance. They have thick, often dirty and patchy fur which range in color from faded oranges and grays, to lighter whites and dark blacks. They are fairly short, only typically standing at an average height of around fifteen inches tall (33 centimeters) and an average weight of around eleven pounds, (4 kilograms) making them fairly light weight.

Located on their posterior the Pulvis Cat has a long, bushy tail covered in thick layers of fur, which often times are more then double the length of their bodies. This tail is used for many different purposes, such as the removal of debris in the Pulvis Cats way, to gripping onto objects, with the Pulvis Cat often times using their respective tails to grip onto the branches of tall trees in order to flee from a potential threat or attacker. Thanks to this, the Pulvis Cat is an exceptional climber, being able to leap across great heights of a tree and catch themselves before they reach the ground below.

Their abilities of sight, smell and sound are all fairly impressive, with a Pulvis Cat being able to see up to two kilometers in a distance, as well as being able to see perfectly well in the dark of night. They are able to detect the faintest scent among the deep and thick dust or ashen land, snuffling their nose underneath the ground to locate small prey such as insect or worm species of fauna, while their eats have been developed to able to detect very slight sounds, allowing them to be aware of any threat coming from any direction around their person, fleeing if the sound particularly frightens them, often times retreating to the tree tops in order to stay out of reach of the sound's origin.

Due to their small stature and weight, the Pulvis Cat often times needs to flee from other rival predators, as they lack many defensive abilities. Thankfully for them however, they are able to move across the ground at incredible speeds, clocking in at maximum speeds of around thirty-five kilometers per standard hour, making them one of the fastest feline species of Haven in their respective weight-class. Along with their great abilities of speed, the Pulvis Cat has been specially developed to be able to hide from both predator and prey. They do this by quickly digging a small hole into the dust covered ground, then quickly obscuring themselves by placing the debris created in the process on top of themselves, with their dirt colored fur camouflaging the Pulvis Cat among the dusty surface they are now obscured by.

Pulvis Cat: Behavior[]

Pulvis Cats are extremely timid and skittish creatures, often times retreating from the simplest of sounds. Their careful nature extends to every aspect of their life, never overstepping or taking unnecessary risks and always taking the protection of themselves or their pride as the prime directive in their existence. Thanks to this, combined with their impressive abilities of speed and agility has made it very rare for a predator species to manage to grab ahold of a Pulvis Cat and consume them, with only predator species specially developed at hunt them to be able to have even a chance at capturing one.

Every Pulvis Cat across the planet of Haven belongs to a pride or pack of some sort, often times being apart of a pride that has dozens of different Pulvis Cats within it. These prides are formed whenever two Pulvis Cats who currently do not belong to a pack breed, with their lineage continuing the tradition and breeding amongst themselves. This may lead one to think that the Pulvis Cat are born with several birth defects due to most species experiencing such affects due to interbreeding, however the Pulvis Cat seem to be exempt from this rule, as if any mutation is experienced within a new born Pulvis Cat, then it is despite the fact that their parents are directly related.

Along with their careful nature, they are very aggressive when it comes to other Pulvis Cats that are foreign to their respective pride, with full blown "wars" being waged between two sperate Pulvis Cat packs whenever they come into contact with another. The reason for this would be the nature of the respective environment the Pulvis Cat calls home. Due to the creature being very effective hunters, they cannot afford to allow another large pride of Pulvis Cats to live in the same area as there simply isn't enough food to go around if two or more prides are hunting the available prey at peak efficiency.

"Ah the Blobcat, a very silly looking creature indeed. Watching them hop around the icy surfaces of frozen wastelands, one cannot help but chuckle. But remember to keep your wits about you when interacting with a colony, as if you anger one, you anger the whole family."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.'

Blob Cat

A tan-colored Blobcat.

Blobcat: Overview []

The Blobcat are a species of feline predator mammalian organisms native to shorelines of the colder regions of Haven, such as the continents of Vanriel and Ruhiel, as well as the many icy islands strung about the planet's oceans such as Remina and Alannia. They resemble a mix of the common house cat and sea lion species native to planet Earth , and like the two aforementioned species, the Blobcat are a semi-aquatic predator species, often hunting small mammals and fish. They are a fairly common animal, with a theorized global population of around twelve million. They can be found in large quantities, as they travel in large colonies, typically along the banks of a body of water.

They are a fairly famous animal, as many inhabitants of Haven have taken a liking to the Blobcat's feline appearance, with many even keeping them as pets. Though they require a large amount of upkeep, as well as a cool climate and plenty of water to swim in.

Blobcat: Physical[]

Blobcat's have a quadruped build, growing at an average height of around three feet (0.9144 meters), and an average weight of two hundred and twenty-eight pounds (130 kilograms). They have two front facing eyes, two ears on the sides of their head, sets of whiskers on its cheeks, and a nose at the center of its face.

A typical Blobcat's physical appearance and structure is very blubbery and fat, allowing them to live in extremely cold regions, and to remain buoyant while they are skimming across the surface of water. Due to their large bodies, they move very slowly on land, hopping around at a maximum speed of around five kilometres per hour. Thanks to their small limbs, they are unable to traditionally walk, instead, they are forced to bounce across the icy surface they inhabit. However, once they enter within water, they become extremely fast and dexterous, being able to move up to fifty kilometres an hour, allowing them to catch many types of fish with relative ease. Their fur can have a myriad of colors, ranging from light-tans, to deep blacks, in rare circumstances, a Blobcat can be born with albinism, turning them as white as the snow they traverse.

Their abilities of sight is fairly impressive, allowing a Blobcat to see up to thirteen kilometres away. Their eyes also have improved visibility in low light levels, allowing them to see a cloudy midnight with a relatively high light-level, analogous Haven's mid-evening light-level. Their eyes evolved this way due to the environment they primarily hunt in, as they require good visibility underneath the darkened water.

Their ears can detect many minute sounds, allowing a Blobcat to hear almost anything around them in a three kilometer area, in a way akin to sonar. These ears were specifically developed to both locate prey underneath the water, as well as potential threats, making them able to retreat well in advance. Their abilities of smell are fairly weak however, only able to smell objects in very close proximity to them. This may seem odd to some, but as the sense of smell isn't required as much since they're other senses allow them to already locate prey with great efficiency, it seems to have been left by the evolutionary wayside.

Blobcat: Behavior[]

Blobcats share many behavioral similarities to most feline species., they are very typically very skittish, fleeing from any potential threats almost instantly. They are also very inquisitive, often investigating strange things they have not encountered before. They can also be very aggressive, often attacking things that pose no threat to themselves, as well as attacking each other for seemingly no reason. Despite their aggressive traits however, those Blobcats who were born into the same colony form extremely tight-knit bound, making a Blobcat move heaven and earth to protect their tribe members.

As previously mentioned, Blobcats form large colonies, allowing them to give off an intimidation factor to other larger predators that may want to attack an individual Blobcat. These colonies can grow extremely large, with the largest known colony spanning around two hundred thousand individual Blobcats, located in western Ruhiel. During Haven's winter months, the Blobcat breeding migration begins, meaning that Blobcat colonies begin moving towards other colonies of similar size. After the mating migration is complete, a Blobcat will take around eleven standard months to give birth, and will typically have a litter of two individual Blobcats.

Canine Mammalian Fauna (not complete)[]

Pelagus Wolf

Pelagus Wolf: Overview[]

The Pelagus Wolf is a common species of predatory canine mammalian species native to both the many temperate forest strung across Haven, as well as the cold and icy regions of the planet. They are amongst the most common species of wolf on Haven, with a theorized global population of around three million and can be found in small quantities almost anywhere, however a good rule of thumb would be that the farther out you go from temperate or icy climates, the less Pelagus Wolves you will encounter.

As they are fairly common species, the Pelagus Wolf is a relatively famous species of canine across Haven's many diverged cultures, appearing in many pieces of cultural art and iconography, mostly due to the large main that surrounds their face being seen as a symbol for power, with various powerful groups and families across Haven adopting the Pelagus Wolf as their official insignia.

Pelagus Wolf: Physical[]

The Pelahus Wolf shares many of the inherit baseline physical traits found in all canine species across planet Haven. They have a quadruped build, with two front facing eyes, a slanted snout, and two ears on the sides of their head. Their elongated mouths are filled with numerous, razor sharp teeth, with an adult Pelagus Wolf containing around sixty-two individual teeth. Each tooth is specially designed to rip and shred through prey, and their jaws have been evolved to be able to clamp down upon them with great force, reaching conducive forces up to a thousand pounds per square inch, making the Pelagus Wolf one of the most powerful species of canine on the planet in terms of biting power.

The skin of the Pelagus Wolf is extremely tough, evolved to be able to withstand great amounts of kinetic forced inflicted upon it thanks to the harshness of many of their respective native environments, along with offering protection against any rival predator species. Along with their naturally hardened skin, the Pelagus Wolf is also covered in a thick coat of fur, comprising numerous individual strains of hair. This fur coat is specially developed to withstand the harsh climates of their native icy environments, allowing a Pleagus Wolf to endure extremely cold temperatures, reaching all the way down to a frigid negative seventeen degrees Celsius, however as the Pelagus Wolves spread themselves to other, more diverse areas of climate, this is no longer needed in some, leading to select Pleagus Wolves within said regions to be born with thinner fur coats. Along with offering protection from the cold, the Pleagus Wolf's fur coat is also used to entice a mate, in a manner similar to some bird species, with those who have larger, more colorful and soft fur coats having a better chance of securing mate.

Their senses of sight, sound, and smell are extremely adept, being able to see far into the distance, with a max vision range of around three kilometers ahead. Their hearing on the other hand is even more impressive. being able to hear almost anything occurring within two kilometer, three hundred and sixty degree radius around them, As well, their sense of smell has been finely tuned to pick up even the most minute smells that may pick up the Pleagus Wolf's attention, such as the scent of a respective prey species they may be currently hunting. All of these combined have made the Pleagus Wolf one of the most effective predator species across the whole of planet Haven.

Despite their impressive senses and physical abilities, the Pleagus Wolf lacks great feats of speed, as their massive bodies do not allow them to run as fast as some of their contemporaries, only clocking in at a maximum speed of around twenty-five kilometers per standard hour. As a result, the Pelagus Wolf mostly relies on its other senses for hunting and defending itself.

Pelagus Wolf: Behavior[]

The bassline behavioral traits of the Pelagus wolf can be described as very alert, and carious, as no Pelagus Wolf will ever take any action without first taking every precaution beforehand, in case of any nearby rival predators who may me altered to their presence. Along with their cautious nature, the Pelagus Wolf is often times very territorial solitary, almost never allowing any other member of their kind to encroach upon their respective territory, with the exception of those of the opposite gender during their mating season.

As they hunt, a Pelaus Wolf ensure that each and every possible escape route a potential prey animal may employ has been eliminated, usually preferring to corner prey against wall-like structures or thick tree lines. How it decides its respective prey is usually determined by the size of an animal, and as the Pelagus Wolf is fairly large, numerous types of animal is seen as a potential source of food by them, however due to their intelligence, numerous hazards species of animal, such as those who are poisonous will be avoided.

"The Wendstone Wolf, one of Haven's most majestic and rare creatures. I've only had the pleasure of coming into contact with these magnificent beasts only once, which was when I was crossing the Themeltin Badlands in northern Bariquel. The day was cold, and I was taking extra care to not fall to my untimely death within the many crags in the maze of scars that were beneath me. As I wandered, I came across this majestic white-colored wolf. She was magnificent and gigantic. As she starred, I felt my heart began to quicken, for I surely felt as if she would pounce, but she would only watch as I made my approach, never moving an inch. Truly I was blessed to experience such a moment."-William Tancard's Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Wendstone Wolf: Overview[]

Wendstone Wolf

A female white-colored Wendstone Wolf, seen laying on a small boulder.

The Wendstone Wolf are a rare species of predatory canine mammal native to cold, rocky outcroppings and are most commonly found on the continent of Bariquel. They are among the rarest species of their respective family of Canis Lupis on planet Haven, with a global population of only around one thousand five hundred known individual wolves. As well, they are considered to be one of the largest species of canine on the planet.

Due to their rarity, they are regarded as a protected species by the Haven's Nature Conservation Department , meaning that any hunting or endangerment of the animal's natural habitat is strictly prohibited. Along with their rarity, the Wendstone Wolf is a cultural icon to many, standing as one of the most culturally significant canine species of planet Haven.

Wendstone Wolf: Physical[]

The Wendstone Wolf's baseline physical structure and appearance is very akin to that of many other canine species on Haven. They have a quadruped build, with two front facing eyes, and a large, slanted snout on the front of their face. They have elongated mouth filled with around forty-two razor sharp teeth, allowing them to shred their prey's flesh with ease. Along with this, the Wendstone Wolf's teeth are specially designed to shred through thick rocks as they make their dens within thick rocky outcroppings. and stand at an average height of around six feet (one meter) and an average weight of around one hundred and eighty-nine pounds, (eighty-five kilograms)

They're bones are extremely durable and flexible, as the Wendstone Wolf needs to traverse very dangerous and craggy outcroppings of rock which sometimes form into labyrinthine mazes of canyons. With they're powerful bone structure, they are able to withstand falls from great heights and walk away relatively unscathed, while the flexibility of their bones, combined with the great muscle strength of their hindlegs, allow a Wendstone Wolf to jump over thirteen feet vertically, and over thirty-seven feet horizontally, allowing them to easily leap across large gaps.

The senses of a Wendstone Wolf are also specially developed to be able to locate prey and optimal hunting locations among the confusing layout of their respective natural habitat. With their honed eyes, a Wendstone Wolf is able to see several kilometers in a distance, and they use this to be able to locate prey deep within small crags, nooks and crannies, jump down to the prey, then jump back atop to the surface. While their ears have evolved to be able to pickup small vibrations deep within the ground, to also assist in the hunting of prey. Their noses are also developed in a similar manner, being able to pick up the faintest of scent underneath the rocks to determine the exact location of prey, as well as the respective species they belong to.

A rather unique trait of the Wendstone Wolf compared to other canine species on Haven is the texture in which their fur takes. Rather then having a soft, hair-like feeling, a Wendstone Wolf's fur feels like small pebbles and other rocky materials, giving it a very rough and grainy texture. With this fur, a Wendstone Wolf can withstand the many small pebbles and rocks that are flung towards them during the more windy days and nights of their respective native environment. The eternal organs of the Wendstone Wolf are also specially developed to withstand the harsh environment.

Wendstone Wolf: Behavior[]

The Wendstone Wolf is a very calm and collected creature, often times pursuing prey in a very calculated manner, keeping watch over the unfortunate creature they have chosen, searching for the slightest sign of weakness in its guard. Once it detects an opening, it will pounce upon its prey with great speed and power, tearing it to shreds. If a creature is deemed to much of a threat, or too much effort to take down, then the Wendstone Wolf will simply ignore them and continue onward.

Along with their calm nature when hunting, the Wendstone Wolf is very calm and calculated in all aspects of life, always searching for the optimal way in doing anything from crossing the triecious landscape of their native environment, to locating precious sources of fresh water. Whenever a Wendstone Wolf is fortunante enough as to encounter another one of their kind, they will enter what's known to the Haven populace as a "welcoming ritual," which in-turn involves the two to bow their heads at one another, then proceed to examine the other, then wander off back to a different location.

Wendstone Wolves are very solitary creatures, often times spending their entire lives by their lonesome, many times living a full life without even mating once, however this is not always by choice as the Wendstone Wolf population is so low it is often times difficult for two compatible partners to be able to come into contact with each other. Whenever a Wendstone Wolf is so lucky to encounter a mate, then the two respective Wolves will spend the remainder of their lives together, having several litters of pups together in a shared rocky den of their creation. Typically, a female Wendstone Wolf will have litters of three to six pups, and it will typically take around sixteen standard years to reach maturity, as the Wendstone Wolf is long lived for a canine species. Once a Wendstone Wolf reaches maturity, it will depart from its mother and father, then begin to hunt and search for their own mate among the endless rocky outcroppings they call home.

Ursidae Mammalian Fauna (not complete)[]

Mini-Grizzly

A wild Mini Grizzly.

Mini Grizzly: Overview[]

The Mini Grizzly is a common species of Ursidae (bear) organisms found across the many temperate forests and planes of Haven. They have a global population of around two hundred million and can often times be found in small quantities in almost any temperate area should one search hard enough. Their name derives from their appearance, looking like a rounded, miniature version of the "Ursus arctos," or more commonly known as "Grizzly Bear" species of Ursidae. Thanks to their large population. the Mini Grizzly has become an integral part in many ecosystems across the planet, serving as a major food source for many predatory species, as well as a natural grazer to prevent overflow of invasive flora species.

Due to their commonality, as well as their natural non-hostile nature, the Mini Grizzly is a very famous creature across the many different cultures spread across planet Haven, often times being kept as pets by the planet's populace as they are fairly low maintenance and rather docile. Due to this, a large percentage of the Mini Grizzly's population is domesticated, however a large amount of the creature can still be seen in the wild. As a result of their popularity, the Mini Grizzly is a major focal point in many pieces of cultural art and iconography, along with the species being given a fairly large global population due to being bred by various individual pet owners.

Mini Grizzly: Physical[]

The Mini Grizzly has a small, quadruped build with a rounded shape, growing at an average height and length of around one and a half feet (0.4572 meters) and an average weight of around fifty-two pounds, (26 kilograms) Their bodies are covered in a thick layer of fur that can vary in color from tan, brown, gray, black and white, with varying patterns depending on each Mini Grizzly in question. Having an average natural lifespan of around fifteen standard years, it will typically take around a single standard year for a Mini Grizzly to reach adulthood from birth.

Unlike most prey species of Haven, the Mini Grizzy has two front-facing eyes would more typically find on predator species. It evolved with said eyes to be able to witness oncoming threats from far distances, as the Mini Grizzly's main predators are typically belonging to animals who are able to run at incredible speeds. They have an average sight range of around seven kilometers in a distance, allowing them to be able to see almost anything coming towards them, though this doesn't always mean they'll be able to avoid said oncoming object or creature.

Along with their front-facing eyes, the overall head sculpt of the Mini Grizzly is also in-line with other predator Ursidae species found on Haven, having a rounded head with a nose at the center, and two small ears located at the top of their head. Their hearing range is fairly mundane when compared to their impressive eye sight, only being able to hear sounds in fairly close proximity, giving any predator obscured from the Mini Grizzly's sight ample chances at attacking them. Their sense of smell has been finely tuned to detect optimal vegetation for the Mini Grizzly to consume, typically searching out berries filled with nutrients and or a lot of liquid, though it will often times settle for grass or flowers to eat should they contain a large amount of water within them.

Their mouths very atypical for most Ursidae species do not contain sharpened teeth, and instead have around fourteen individual square-shaped teeth one would find on various rodent mammalian organisms. The Mini Grizzly uses these specially developed teeth to grind the endless amounts of vegetation it consumes every day, with a single Mini Grizzly being able to eat up to fifteen times it's own body weight, allowing it to have massive reserves of caloric energy. The Mini Grizzly also relies on its teeth for the hollowing out of trees for its nests, using its powerful saw-like jaw to grind through thick tree trunks and creating a safe hollowed out area.

Their small legs have evolved to be able to have a large amount of muscle mass for the comparatively small size of each individual leg, as to allow the Mini Grizzly the ability to leap great horizontal distances, being able to launch them selves up to ten feet away from their original position, then quickly continue onward. Along with the impressive leaping abilities their muscle strength allows them, the Mini Grizzly has a vast amount of stamina and strain resistance, evolved to ensure the respective Mini Grizzly is able to continuously leap away from any would be pursuer.

Mini Grizzly: Behavior[]

The Mini Grizzly's behavior usually depends as to if it is either tamed or wild. A wild Mini Grizzly are typically extremely cautious, timid and easy to startled, jumping away from even the slightest of out of the norm sounds, and since the Mini Grizzly is a favorite food source of many predator species, this is a fairly useful survival strategy for them. Along with their overly cautious nature, the Mini Grizzly will often times remain within the same area of their birth for the entirety of their respective life, only venturing further out in search for a mate during breeding season.

Wild Mini Grizzlys exist in small packs, often times referred to as "tribes," usually consisting of around ten or more individual bears, though larger tribes of up to a hundred Mini Grizzlys have been known to exist in certain areas. Despite the name, there is no arranged hierarchy within a Mini Grizzly tribe, with no central leader or any sort of powerbase. Instead, each member ensures that the collective young of the tribe remains sheltered and protected from any threat, be them predator or from the environment. Tribes live in large nests constructed by its members within the hollowed out trunk of large trees, typically those belonging to the Haven Oak or Haven Pine families, though they may use any kind of tree provided that it has the requisite size needed for their respective tribe. Within the nest, various small chambers are constructed, each with a designated purpose, ranging from food storage, to waste removal, and bedding areas for the young and their parents.

Tamed Mini Grizzlys are fairly different from their wild counterparts. For instance, typically pet Mini Grizzlys will be much more calm and will allow for other creatures to approach them, even other animal species who would normally be their predators provided they are also owned by their respective owner. Along with their clam nature, they are often times very loyal pets, provided they are well kept and fed.

"During my trek across the southern continent of Vanriel, I vividly remember when a group of Snow Cub began to jump towards me, kicking at my legs. And, while they don't look it, are very strong, it managed to cut large gashes in my legs. Sadly, this meant I had to defend myself, and I began to kick them away from me, most likely injuring some. It's sad that something so adorable can be so aggressive." -William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures."

Snow Cub: Overview[]

Snow Cub

Snow Cubs are a common species of predatory Ursidae (bear) organisms native to the colder regions of Haven, such as the snowy continents of Vanriel and Ruhiel. They have a global population of around one hundred million, and they can be found almost within any cold region on the planet, often times existing in large numbers due to their habit of creating large Snow Cub colonies. They resemble a miniature, rounded brown bear, making a Snow Cub appear like a bear cub throughout their entire life.

Due to their commonality and appearance, they are a fairly famous animal among Haven's intelligent population, with the creature often times being kept as a pet, though they require a large amount of upkeep, a cold natural environment, and an official license to own due to their predatory nature.

Snow Cub: Physical[]

The Snow Cub has a quadrupedal build, growing at an average height and length of around two feet (0.6096), and an average weight of fifty-eight pounds (26.3084 kilograms). Like most predator species, they have two front facing eyes, two ears on the sides of their heads, and a nose located at the front of their face. It will typically take around three standard years for a Snow Cub to fully grow into adulthood.

Their bodies are very rounded and covered in thick layers of fur, as they require a great amount of inclination in order to remain warm in the respective environment they inhabit. Despite their rounded shape, the Snow Cub are extremely fast, being able to run at speeds up to twenty-seven kilometers an hour, being able to easily evade any would be attacker, as well as allowing them to catch up to their prey very easily. Snow Cubs are able to move so quickly due to massive amounts of muscles within their small legs, allowing them to basically leap to their destination. As a result, they do not typically walk, instead, they hop along the icy surface and are able to do so for great amounts of time, traversing large distances with minimal effort.

The Snow Cub is effectively blind, as their eyes are only used to see objects in their immediate vicinity. Their other senses of smell and hearing also do not fair much better then their sight, only being able to smell and hear things in their immediate vicinity. Instead of these senses, they rely on a strange seismic sensors located at the base of their feet. These sensors allow a Snow Cub a rough estimation of the area around them, as well as giving them a view of what's underneath the snow beneath themselves. With this, an individual Snow Cub will be able to detect small prey animals that burrow across the snow, then attack the unsuspecting creature.

Their legs are also well adapted to digging the snow beneath them, as their respective prey lies underneath it. They are able to dig across the snow with such speed and efficiency, that they are able to craft elaborate mazes spanning several meters. This ability also assists them in the consumption of prey, as they use their powerful legs to kill their target, as well as serving as an effective tool for defense.

Snow Cub: Behavior[]

Snow Cubs are a very bold creature, often times rushing head long in danger and not have any regard when it comes to something clearly far beyond them in terms of size and strength. As a result, they often times are killed due to this. Along with being headstrong, the Snow Cub is also very territorial when it comes to their respective area, whose borders can vary widely depending on the individual Snow Cub in question, and will often times attack any foreign Snow Cub that approaches them.

However, they often times form life long bonds with their mate, and will live with them for their entire life. As a result, they and their mate will create elaborate and well crafted tunnels and mazes underneath the snow, forming labyrinth-like patterns that serve as their respective nests These nests are crafted with so much minute detail, it often times appear as if it was constructed by an intelligent individual. Within these nests, various chambers are located throughout them, which are used for food storage, waste rooms, litter rooms, and even decoy rooms to throw off predators.

Suyak Mammalian Fauna (not complete)[]

"The Quagselsuyak once served as the legacy of a forgotten family of creature, as they were at the time the only remaining species of the "Suyak" family of mammals before we came along and started to replenish their number. When I first came across the creature in the icy shores of northern Ruhiel, there were a herd of hundreds of them, moving like a mass of white cloth across the snow-covered ground. It was overwhelming to my vision, and it took me several moments to realize that it was not a singular creature, but rather an immense cloud of large gargaituin beasts."--William Tancard's Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Quagselsuyak: Overview[]

Quagselsuyak

A Quagselsuyak seen drinking at a small icy pond on the continent of Ruhiel.

The Quagselsuyak are a rare species of mammal, native exclusively to the cold shoreline of the northern icy continent of Ruhiel. They are the only naturally remaining species of their respective family, the "Suyak" family of mammals that were once spread across the planet during Haven's "Mid Regrowth Period." The Suyak's closest analogue would be that of the "Rhinocerotidae" family of mammals. They only have a global population of around six hundred, and are spread few and far between from each other.

Due to their rarity, and the extremity of their native environment, they are a fairly obscure species among the many mammal species of planet Haven, holding very little mainstream knowledge among the planet's intelligent inhabitants. As well, they are regarded as a protective species by the Haven's Nature Conservation Department and hunting or endangering of the animal is strictly prohibited, and punishments are inflicted with great prejudice and force. Attempts to breed the species back into prominence, as well as cloning of the species are ongoing.

Quagselsuyak: Physical[]

The Quagselsuyak baseline physical structure is a large, quadrupedal terrestrial mammal, with massive legs standing at an average height of around sixteen feet, (Four meters) and an average weight of around two thousand pounds. Their thick layers of fur obscure their physical appearance, but they resemble a mixture of common species of equine and rhinos. It will typically take around ten standard years for a Quagselsuyak to fully grow into adulthood, and a female Quagselsuyak will typically have a litter of around five individual young.

Their large bodies are covered in long, silk-like fur that continuously grows as the respective Quagselsuyak ages, leaving elderly Quagselsuyak to have long fur that drags along the ground as the move, as well as completely obscuring the creature from view, making them appear as a quadrupedal mass of cloth. Due to their large size, the Quagselsuyak are extremely slow, only being able to move at a maximum speed of around fifteen kilometers. However what they lack in speed, they more then make up for in terms of power and defense, as they are able to crush almost anything beneath their massive feet, while their skin has a tensile strength of around three thousand pounds per square inch, making an individual Quagselsuyak a walking tank.

Quagselsuyak have two front facing eyes, two large ears on the sides of their head, and a large bulbous nose at the front of their face. Their vision range is very impressive, being able to see up to sixty kilometers in a distance, as well as being able to see through the thick amounts of fur that typically obscure their respective eyes. Their hearing range however is fairly unimpressive, only being able to hear things in close radius around themselves. Their large noses have evolved to be well adapted to pick up minute aromas within water, as the respective flora and fauna they fee upon mainly live within the waters of the frozen shorelines the Quagselsuyak inhabit.

The Quagselsuyak, as an extension of the family they belong to, hold the rather unique trait of controlling the temperature within their very blood through the use of special designed organs specifically evolved to do so. With this, they are able to survive extreme cold temperatures, heating their blood up to one hundred degrees Celsius, though they usually do not require such extreme heats. This would also allow an individual Quagselsuyak to cool their blood up to negative thirty-seven degrees Celsius if they ever entered within a hot environment, though since they exist within a colder region, they do not need this to survive.

Quagselsuyak: Behavior[]

The Quagselsuyak typically have a shared behavior of aimlessly exploring and walking across the southern Ruhiel coastlines, searching for food within the shallows of the coasts respective waters. They diet consists of the many species of seaweed that grow on the sands of the shoreline, as well as small fish species that swim in the shallow waters. They are a herd animal, meaning they travel in a herd, but as there are only around six hundred, there are only around twelve Quagselsuyak herds known to exist, with the largest of which only consisting of around a hundred individual Quagselsuyaks.

They are very calm and slow creatures, often times lacking much urgency in their actions and emotions. Whenever a creature attempts to attack a Quagselsuyak then they will keep a clam demeanor and counter attack the respective predator with incredibly power, often times crushing the individual animal with great ease due to their incredible size and strength.

Like many other species on Haven, the Quagselsuyak form life-long bonds with their respective mate, with the two of them being inseparable throughout their entire lives. To find a mate, a Quagselsuyak will leave their respective herd, and begin to traverse to another. Then, when the two meet, a strange sort of: "meeting ritual" will commence, and the two will almost have a strange form of: "conversation," and at the end of this exchange, they will both decide which of their respective herds the two of them will return to and have their litter within. Quagselsuyak also form strong bonds with their mothers and fathers, as well as their respective young. Even when a Quagselsuyak reaches adulthood, they will remain in the same herd as their parents throughout their life, and their lineage will continue to do the same.

Turdidae Aves Fauna[]

"Pyreen are simultaneously the most adorable, and intimidating bird I can think of that inhabits Haven. Seeing a nest of baby Pyreen with their attentive mother is some of the most heartwarming sights one can think of. While on the other hand, the massive clouds of Pyreen, with thousands of individual birds can feel like an prelude to some apocalypse."- William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Pyreen (1)

A Pyreen seen perched on a small branch.

Pyreen: Overview[]

The Pyreen are an extremely common species of Aves organisms native to the countless temperate forests spread across the whole of planet Haven. They resemble a mixture of the bird families of Turdus migratorius (robin) and Trochilidae (hummingbird) native to several planets such as Earth . They are a prey species, often serving as an integral food source for numerous predator species, making the Pyreen a fundamental pillar of any ecosystem they are apart of. They are one of the most common species of bird on Haven, with a global population of around four billion individual birds.

Due to their prominence on Haven, Pyreen's are very famous among the planet's populace, as an individual will typically see several Pyreen birds each day. They are also used as pets very often, with their minimalist upkeep they are favored by many bird keepers.

Pyreen: Physical[]

Pyreen birds resemble your typical Turdus migratorius bird, with their front facing beak, and their two brownish colored eyes on the sides of their small heads. However unlike most Turdus migratorius bird species, the Pyreen fly through flapping their wings forwards and backwards like typical Trochilidae bird species, making them extremely fast when compared to other bird species of their classification, with a typical flying speed of around sixty kilometers an hour.

Like many species of bird, the Pyreen are an omnivorous species, typically feeding on the many leaves of the forests they inhabit, as well as small worm and insect species that inhabit the dirt beneath them. Luckily for them, Pyreen only require a relatively small amount of food to propel themselves, only needing to eat one leaf or insect for the entire day, making each individual Pyreen be able to find adequate amounts of food very easily.

Pyreen birds have a very impressive eye sight, being able to see and subsequently react to things on bound towards them from up to three kilometers away, being able to anticipate would be attackers extremely easily. In fact they are so well adapted to evade danger, that only predator species specifically evolved to be able to catch them are the only ones that can actually use the Pyreen bird as a food source. While they hear with a strange form of echo location, having specially developed feathers designed to detect strange vibrations from nearby trees and the one they are currently standing upon.

A pregnant female Pyreen will typically lay a clutch of around sixty-two individual eggs, taking usually around three standard weeks to hatch, leading to their massive population counts. A Pyreen will remain in the nest with their mother and father for about four standard weeks after their birth, then they will begin to take wing and leave the nest to find their own mate, beginning the cycle anew.

Their bodies are covered in numerous small feathers, with typically each only being the size of a couple centimeters and a single Pyreen having hundreds of them, making the bird appear to have thicker feathers then it actually has. These feathers can have a dazzling array of vibrant colors depending on the breed of Pyreen in question, with some having bright reds, blues, greens and oranges. However most commonly they will typically have a whitish-grey coloring. Typically, male Pyreen will have brighter colors then females, as their feathers serve as their main tool to attract a mate.

Pyreen: Behavior[]

Most Pyreen have an inherent behavior of aggression towards other species of birds across Haven, as they often have to compete with them for territory, causing many to attack any other species of bird as soon as they see them, which unfortunately causes them to attack birds that are much larger then themselves, causing many to die rather prematurely as a result. However, they will often also attack in large swarms of several individual Pyreen, engulfing and overrunning the target with sheer number.

They typically live in very temperate areas of Haven, and unlike many species of their like, they do not migrate during the colder months of Haven's standard year. Instead, the Pyreen bird will seemingly hibernate, creating thick nests out of good in salting woods such as twigs created from Haven Oak trees. As they hibernate, their bodies will begin to shut down, entering an odd form of suspended animation, only awaking once the spring months begin to shine through.

Pyreen are extremely social, and it is very rare to find one by its lonesome as Pyreen travel in large groups of hundreds to deter would be attackers. These Pyreen colonies can sometimes hold thousands of individual birds, forming massive clouds of birds moving across the skies and giving off a very intimidating presence to other sky dwelling creatures.

Thicket-Wing 2

A rather unique trait Pyreen have among other bird species of Haven is their strange marriage-like relationships with those they choose to mate with. Typically, a male and female Pyreen will remain together for their entire natural lifespans, and they will have and raise several clutches of eggs, having about five hundred and fifty-seven individual birds during their lives.

Thicket Wing: Overview[]

The Thicket Wing is a common species of Aves organisms native to many different regions across planet Haven, including temperate forests, plains, tundras, deserts and savannas. They resemble the Turdus migratorius family of bird that can be found on various other planets such as Earth . Their names are derived from their choice in nesting grounds, usually creating small colonies of birds inside thick bushes, small tress, or brambles. Thicket Wing birds are a prey species and are often times an essential part of the respective ecosystem they are apart of, serving as an integral food source for numerous predator species. They are amongst some of the most populace species of bird across the entirety of planet Haven, with an estimated global population of around two billion individual birds.

Due to their commonality across Haven, they often times appear in many pieces of cultural art and iconography, as well as being used in everyday speech by many of the planet's sapient population. Along with their mainstream fame, the Thicket Wing birds often times labeled as a pest species as they have been known to decimate large crop yields by local farmers, allowing for the free hunting of Thicket Wing birds by private citizens world wide.

Phasian: Behavior[]

"The Sparkle Feather has to be one of the most gorgeous creatures to call planet Haven home, and that's saying quite a lot. The brilliant vibrant colors and patterns their feathers can take is truly amazing, as I have so far been unable to find two Sparkle Feathers that look identical to one another. Even despite how common they are, I always find myself entranced by their magnificent colors."-William Tancard's Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Sparkle Feather: Overview[]

Sparkle Feather

A sapphire-blue colored male Sparkle Feather bird.

The Sparkle Feather are a common species of bird that are members of the Turdus migratorius (robin) native to several planets across the cosmos. They can be found in many of the temperate forests spread all across planet Haven, and have a global population of around twenty-five million individual Sparkle Feather birds. Despite their large population counts, it is often times hard to find large groups of the bird, as they are solitary species, often times existing on their own for their entire lives, with the exception of breeding season.

They are famed for the vibrant colors their feathers are able to display, making the Sparkle Feather bird a large piece of cultural art and iconography across Haven's many cultures. As a result, many specific cities and other settlements have outlawed the hunting of the Sparkle Feather bird, as well as keeping one as a pet, though the latter is not officially recognized as a global law across Haven.

Sparkle Feather: Physical[]

Red Sparkle Feather

A red colored female Sparkle Feather bird.

Sparkle Feather birds baseline physical structure resembles most common species of Turdus migratorius, or more commonly known as: "robin" birds. They have a bipedal build, with a long and relatively tall body, standing at a height of around twenty-four inches (sixty centimeters.) All across their bodies, many soft, fur-like feathers are located. These feathers can vary in color widely, and can have a dazzling array of vibrant shades, from seep sapphire-blues, to piercing ruby-reds and emerald greens. Sparkle Feather birds' feathers have such a inquire and vibrant pattern, that the species is sometimes unofficially refereed to as the: "Snowflake Bird," as no two Sparkle Feather birds will share an exact pattern, though this isn't true as they can share a pattern, however it is exceedingly rare.

At the front of their face they have a small, black-colored beak that the Sparkle Feather uses to grab and consume prey. These beaks, while not being very strong, are able to grip prey like a vise, almost akin to that of of opposable thumbs. At the sides of their head, they have two, black-colored eyes that have a texture much alike to that of precious gems, such as rubies. These eyes have a rather unique trait among the many species of birds of Haven, as they function like compound eyes of insects, allowing a Sparkle Feather a three hundred and sixty degree radius around them, as well as a vision range of around half a kilometer.

Strangely, their respective hearing organ are located at the top of the Sparkle Feather's head. This external ear spans the diameter of the head, and is obscured by the Sparkle Feather bird's respective feathers, and due to its dimensions for the size of its body, it is able to hear almost anything near it. These ears are prone to failure however as a Sparkle Feather, with their hearing most likely being the first thing to fail as they reach their elder years, leaving many older Sparkle Feather birds completely deaf.

They are incredibly fast, with an individual Sparkle Feather bird being able to fly to speeds up to fifty kilometers an hour, making an individual Sparkle Feather bird appear like a vibrantly colored blur of light by any species that lack the developed eyes to see them cross the sky. Their are able to achieve such speeds due to the amount of muscles located within their wings, as well as the aerodynamic build of each of their feathers, allowing one to catch wind currents very easily. The speed in which they travel requires an extremely large amount of energy however, causing them to have to often land and catch their breath, as well as refill their caloric energy reserves. This, combined with their impressive senses of sight and sound turn the Sparkle Feather bird into an extremely effective hunter among the species of their weight class.

Their diet consists of the countless energy-rich leaves that are spread across the trees they perch upon in their native forests, as well as the many species of worms and insects on the ground. Thanks to their beaks, as well as their incredible speeds, along with their impressive vision, they are one of the most impressive hunters in the Aves kingdom on Haven, being able to swoop down and instantly grab their prey.

Sparkle Feather: Behavior[]

Sparkle Feather birds are often times a very calculated creature, never wasting any amount of energy in even the smallest of actions, as they require a full reserve at all times to traverse the sky at full speed. While perched, the individual Sparkle Feather bird will remain as still as a statue, only slightly moving their head in accordance to noises it hears, and once it locates prey, they will instantly dive down towards said prey, and then capture it in their powerful beaks.

They are very solitary, often times living several kilometers away from many other Sparkle Feather bird, as they do so intentionally in order to not compete with any other birds for prey, making it very rare to see two of them in the same area. However, during their respective mating season, Sparkle Feathers will begin to search for a mate, emitting a loud and: "metal scrapping" sound from their beaks to locate one. Afterwards, the male will return to their respective original area, while the female will then create a nest and incubate her clutch of eggs.

Trochilidae Aves Fauna[]

"The Arndt are a simple creature; but that does not take away from them in the slightest. I often times found the most simpliest of things during my journey to be the most spectacular. It reminded me that I am but a simple creature, inhabiting this glorious land we call Haven. They also display a fairly dazzling array of aesthetically beautiful shades of light and dark blues. Whenever I saw them cross the sky, I took a moment to appreciate the blue light that would filter from Hope through their respective feathers."--William Tancard's Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Arndt: Overview[]

Arndt

A blue-colored Arndt bird seen drinking water within a Haven Oak tree.

The Arndt are a common species of Trochilidae (humming bird) bird species native to the many temperate forests strung about planet Haven. They have a global population of around five hundred and fifty million individual birds, giving them a massive population count, as well as making them a fundamental pillar of many ecosystems across Haven. They are most famous for the unique way they gain sustenance, as they require the water within the trees they perch upon.

As they are fairly common around Haven, many of the planet's populace leave out specific feeders for the Arndt bird, filled with liquid gathered from various trees. This practice is so common, that the Arndt almost entirely rely on the generosity of that of Haven's intelligent populace, and it has been theorized that if all people stopped putting out feeders, then the Arndt would see a significant population decrease, so the practice is greatly encouraged.

Arndt: Physical[]

The Arndt share many physical traits with that of many Trochilidae (humming bird) species across Haven, though there are a few physically unique features of the Arndt bird. They are typically fairly large compared to many other humming bird species, standing at a height and length of around seven inches. Despite their larger size however, they still retain the lightweight nature most humming bird species do. They also share the unique way most Trochilidae fly, as they flap their wings forwards and backwards to create small currents, allowing the Arndt to fly very fast for its size, clocking at speeds up to thirty kilometers an hour.

They have two small, pinhole-like eyes on the sides of their head, these eyes are very small, so much so that it's often hard for one to see them on first glance. The Arndt bird evolved these eyes as such to be able to see how much water is located within a respective tree, as they only receive sustenance from said water. These eyes are so piercing, they can see microscopic, minute detail in the wood of a respective tree, though these have the disadvantage of making them piratically blind when it comes to anything on a larger scale coming towards them, making the Arndt bird easy prey for many predators.

As previously mentioned, the Arndt live off of the water within the barks of trees such as Haven Oak and Haven Pine trees. This is because the water stored within these respective tree species are rich with a specific type of glucose that the Arndt bird has specifically evolved to consume. The amount of caloric energy this special glucose gives them is astonishing, but due to the massive amount of energy required to propel their fairly large body they require a vast amount of of the liquid each day.

They have specially developed beaks designed to be able to pierce the wood of these specific types of trees, with thousands of small, finely tuned bristles located all across their beak which allow them to separate the bark with ease, and once it enters within the tree's structure, their long tongue will begin to lap up the liquid within. This beak is so specifically designed, that they are unable to be used in any other particle way, but as they only require the liquid within Haven Oaks and Pines, they do not need it for any other purpose.

They are covered in numerous fur-like feathers, giving the Arndt bird a somewhat fluffy looking appearance. These feathers can display a wide variety of colors, though most commonly, they will appear a sky-blue coloring, very much the same hue the skies above they inhabit. These feathers are greatly insulated as well, giving an individual Arndt bird a great amount of warmth, which is especially useful during migratory season during Haven's autumn months.

Arndt: Behavior[]

The Arndt will spend the majority of their day lapping up the large amounts of liquid they needs, and during the night, they will return to a specifically designed nest it creates at the beginning of the spring months in their respective areas. These nets are typically created from small twigs, branches, and leaves and have an average diameter of around fifteen inches, giving them a fair amount of room. They are also typically located on tall branches, and areas in which the nest is obscured, so that they are not spotted and or attacked while the Arndt bird is asleep.

A rather unique trait of the Ardnt compared to most bird species across Haven is that both their migratory, and mating seasons occur at the same time. As they migrate, they will constantly and repeatedly emit a loud sound from their beaks in order to attract a mate, and once a mate is found at the end of the mass migration, the female will create her own respective nest for her clutch of eggs in the south, while the male will go off to forage in the newer area.

Gruiformes Aves Fauna[]

"Spear Crane colonies function like a miniature spartan society, with hundreds of walking troops equipped with large and sharp spears. They can easily decimate entire populations of smaller creatures, and often do so. As a result, they are sadly an envanse species that threatens many species of fish and other small aquatic creatures, and often times we must with a heavy heart, curb their growth. It's a shame, but it's the only viable option given to us currently."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Spear Crane

A Spear Crane seen walking along the western Bariquel shorelines.

Spear Crane: Overview []

The Spear Crane is a common species of semi-aquatic Gruidae (crane) birds native to the many temperate sandy beaches and shorelines located all across planet Haven. They have a global population of around, ten million individual birds and are often times found in large groups of hundreds or more. Their name derives from the way they hunt small fish along the shallow waters, spearing them through with their large beaks.

Due to their commonality, and their very effective way of hunting, the Spear Crane often times endangers many fish species that live in warm, shallow waters in near shore lines. As a result ,the Spear Crane has been labeled as an: "invasive species" in some areas of Haven, and special permits are handed out to select individuals to hunt the bird and control the population as to not allow them to endanger too many fish species.

Spear Crane: Physical[]

The Spear Crane has a baseline physical appearance much akin to that of the many other species of Gruidae (crane) birds located through out Haven, with an upright, bipedal build, and two large wings located at the sides of their bodies. However they are fairly small and light weight compared to most other crane species on Haven, only standing at an average height of around seventeen inches (forty-three centimeters), and an average weight of around fourteen pounds (six kilograms), making them one of the smallest and most lightweight species of crane in the world. It will typically take around half a standard year for a Spear Crane to fully develop into adulthood.

They, while having flyable wings, they are almost an entirely terrestrial and aquatic bird, as they often times just simply walk and or swim to their respective destination, only flying when they are endanger from an attacking predator. As a result, they are extremely fast runners and swimmers, being able to clock speeds up to thirty-five kilometers an hour at full speed. However the lack of flying also has the added effect of making their flight speed fairly unimpressive, only reaching speeds up to ten kilometers an hour, which is very slow compared to other crane bird species.

Spear Cranes do not have an exceptionally great sight or hearing range, only being to see up to half a kilometer away, as well as only being able to hear things relatively close by. However, what they lack in range they more then makeup for in precision, as the eyes and ears of an individual Spear Crane bird have evolved to be finely tuned to detect the most faint sights and sounds coming from the waters they patrol. A Spear Crane's eyes also have the unique function of being able to pierce through the dust and other debris that would otherwise obscure one's vision of the surface of the water.

Their feathers are extremely thin, with the exception of their wings, and often times there will be several Spear Crane's with patches of their bodies that lack any feathers, giving them a very patchy-looking appearance. These feathers also remain the same as they had the moment they hatched, with leading to the species haring a universal trait of thin feathers. Thanks to this, the Spear Crane are not able to live in colder regions, as they lack very sufficient inclination and would otherwise easily freeze.

As previously mentioned, their name derives from the long, spear-like beak they have at the center of their face, which the Spear Crane uses as a weapon to catch small species of fish that swim along the shallow, warm waters of various beaches and coastlines. Their beaks are extremely durable and sharp, and the individual Spear Crane is able to use them with great force, thanks to the many vertebra located at the base of their neck, striking at a target with great speed and forces up to three hundred pounds per square inch, almost functioning akin to that of a hydraulic press. As a result, the Spear Crane has one of the most powerful beaks among birds of their size, environment and likeness.

Spear Crane: Behavior[]

The Spear Crane share a universal behavior of walking along the shallow waters of a shoreline leading into the ocean, scanning their eyes across the water's surface to detect small prey. Once a Spear Crane pierces a fish they will then run to a designated location, then proceed to bury the respective fish under a thin layer of sand, then will return to the water to do so again. They will continue to do so for several hours, until' it begins to grow tired, then they will return to its designated spot and begin to feed on the various fish they caught, afterwards they then will bury the fish remaining back up and sleep in a spot relatively close by.

During breeding season, a male Spear Crane will begin to catch as many fish as they possibly can, often times extremely exerting themselves in the process. Once they gather a horde of fish of at least fifty, they will then attempt to locate a female Spear Crane by emitting a loud bellowing like cry. Once a female Spear Crane is located, the male will most likely have to fend off various other male Spear Crane suitors, and once a winner is determined, then the male will bring the female to his respective fish horde. Like most crane species, the two Spear Cranes will form a life long monogamous bond with each other, and will also have several clutches of eggs together, usually have around thirty-two individual clutches throughout their entire lives.

Serpentine Draco Fauna[]

"The River Dragon, in my opinion, the most majestic of all of Haven's brilliant creatures. In comparison to any other lifeforms in their native habitats, they are almost like a God, as not a single being can contend with them in terms of speed and power. But despite this, they possess a calm and caring nature, never over stepping and only feeding when it requires sustenance. They are so wise, I sometimes I wonder if I discovered an intelligent species or not. Maybe next time I see one, I'll hand it an Alliance membership card."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures."

River dragon

A rare sighting of a male River Dragon, seen shooting up from the Mystia River on the Cerviel continent.

River Dragon: Overview[]

The River Dragon are an extremely rare aquatic serpentine Draco species native exclusively in fresh water rivers. They are one of the rarest creatures in all of Haven, with only one hundred River Dragons known to exist across the entire planet. They are also one of the largest, being the second largest animal to exist in Haven's freshwater bodies. Their name comes from their physical appearance, as they appear very similar to ancient Chinese depictions of dragons.

The few that are known to exist live solitary lives, often living millions of kilometers apart from each other. It remains unknown as to why River Dragons only exist in fresh water rivers, as they should be able to live within any body of fresh water. Thanks to their native environment, they are unmatched by any other fresh-water dwelling creature, meaning they have no competition.

River Dragon: Physical[]

The River Dragon is one of the most intimidating creatures of Haven, as their physical appearance is almost an exact mirror image to that of many depictions of dragons across human mythologies. They have two front facing eyes, and a large slanted snout. Along with their appearance, River Dragons are absolutely massive, with an average length of one hundred and twenty-eight feet (38 meters), and an average weight of around sixty-eight thousand pounds (30,844 kilograms). Male River Dragons will typically be smaller then their female counterparts and have to horns on the sides of their respective heads. The height of these horns and the number of branch horns vary depending on each male River Dragon in question, with the largest known being seventy-seven feet long.

Despite their large size, the River Dragon is able to move across their native river at incredible speeds, reaching up wards of sixty kilometers an hour, making them an unstoppable force to any who is unfortunate to be in the way. They are also able to maneuver extremely quickly as well, being able to turn on a moment's notice, making it nearly impossible to out swim them. They are able to contort themselves in almost any pattern as well,

Their abilities of sight are fairly impressive, with them being able to see about three kilometers in a distance, very similar to humans. These eyes glow with a distinctive piercing orange color through a process of bioluminescence, which is used to lure small prey into its grasp. This glow can be seen above the water, creating a dazzling display for those viewing it.

Strangely, the River Dragons seem to be deaf, as they lack any form of traditional ears. Instead, they rely on the large fin-like organisms on the sides of their heads, which function as a sort of sonar, much alike your typical bat species. The "hearing" range of these fins is almost unreal, uniformly stretching the entire length of their native river. This allows the individual River Dragon to have a complete picture of each and every organism in its home river, almost akin to a limited form of omniscience.

An adult River Dragon's mouth holds sixteen extremely sharp and durable teeth, with a biting force of around fifty thousand pounds per square inch, allowing an individual River Dragon to break through durable metals such as steel with relative ease. These teeth are extremely sharp thanks to the keratin that makes up their being, much alike the Ambrosia Alliance member species, the Ko'rr, though the River Dragon is much more powerful.

The scales that make up their body is very durable, taking around one hundred thousand pounds per square inch to begin to break through it, making it on level with that of steel. Thanks to this, the River Dragon's are neigh indestructible to any other fresh-water dwelling animal. The only thing that could in theory damage them is another River Dragon, but as they so rarely interact, no known conflicts have ever been recorded.

River Dragon: Behavior[]

The River Dragon's behavior is one of the most nuance examples in all of Haven. Each of the hundred known River Dragons seem to exhibit distinctive personalities, reacting to things in a way that is unique to them alone. Thanks to this, the River Dragon has been labeled as the fifth most intelligent fauna of Haven. Despite the variety in personality however, a handful of behavioral commonalities is known.

First and foremost, all River Dragons seem to share the want to live a a solitary life style. Individual River Dragons almost never interact with each other, instead remaining in their own respective rivers. Each River Dragon seems to only mate twice in their entire lifetimes, through a vast time frame of four hundred standard years, with a pregnant female River Dragon only laying one egg at a time. Unfortunately, River Dragon's seem to have a high mortality rate during their hatching, as more then sixty percent of all River Dragon eggs never hatch, leading to the minuscule population the species currently has.

River Dragon's also seem to have an innate understanding of the fragile balance of their native river's ecosystem. If one wanted to, they could consume the entire native population of a medium-sized river almost instantaneously, but due to their intelligence, they understand that they require a constant source of food to survive, letting other smaller species thrive all around them, only feeding to the point of near starvation. And when they do partake in food, they have the absolute minimal amount to survive. In rare cases, it has been observed that when a species in a river begins to overtake another, to the point of driving them away, the respective River Dragon will intervene, leveling out the rival species' population.

The strangest trait River Dragon's have been known to exhibit is an odd curiosity to creatures that dwell on land. Often times, if an animal or person walks towards the shoreline of a River Dragon's home river, then the dragon will pop its head out of the water and closely investigate them, often nudging them gently with its nose, however once said creature enters the river, it will no longer be interested, and begin to submerge back underneath the water. It remains unclear as to why it does this.

Diptera Insecta Fauna[]

"Masquerade Flies are always a joy to watch, it's almost like magic how well they are able to mimic the object they are standing on. I couldn't tell you the amount of times I jumped during my travels, watching leaves and other things suddenly sprout wings and fly away. I'm almost baffled they never made my hair turn grey." -William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Masquerade Fly: Overview []

Masquerade Fly

A Masquerade Fly seen taking a leaf camouflage.

The Masquerade Fly is a common species of Diptera insect organsims native to the many temperate forests across planet Haven. They resemble your typical house fly and are a common food source for many species, making them an integral part to the ecosystem of any forest they are apart of.

Their name comes from their ability to instantly camouflage themselves with the same coloring and pattern of the surface they are currently standing on. The Masquerade Fly's global population is theorized to be around two hundred billion individual flies.

Masquerade Fly: Physical[]

As an insect, the Masquerade Fly has an arthropod body, with a frail exoskeleton, a segmented body, and jointed appendages. It has six small legs, two wings on its back, two compound eyes on the sides of its head, and two front facing antenna. They are two inches long (five centimeters) and have an average weight of three hundred milligrams. A Masquerade Fly will typically fully mature in just three standard days, and have a life span of three standard weeks, a fairly long time frame for insects

They are extremely fast, being able to fly from danger at incredible speeds of up to twenty miles per hour, though they are still often caught and eaten by predator species. Their abilities of movement on land however is far less impressive, only being able to move two miles per hour.

Due to their compound eyes, a Masquerade Fly is able to see with a full three hundred and sixty degree field and perceive the world at a speed of around two hundred and fifty hertz, allowing them to escape most slower moving things then it. The antenna located upon the front of their heads also allows the Masquerade Fly to sense things around them in three hundred sixty degree five foot radius, making them able to sense most oncoming dangers on approach, though things moving fairly fast can often strike before the Masquerade Fly has time to react.

Their abilities of camouflage are their main and primary strength, being able to almost instantaneously take the color, pattern and texture of any surface they are standing upon to the most minute detail. These camouflages work very well, with only species that specifically evolved to locate them being able to detect a Masquerade Fly, though they often times are killed by complete coincidence as an animal may crush them not knowing they were there to begin with.

Masquerade Fly: Behavior[]

The Masquerade Fly, like most insects will typically spend its entire life foraging for food and mating as much as it possibly can before it dies, with a single Masquerade Fly being able to reproduce more then one thousand times. its diet is exclusively made up of leaves from trees, and thanks to their native environments, they are able to have an infinite food supply.

They are very cautious, never coming anywhere near any living thing that's larger then itself, often camouflaging themselves whenever they sense the slightest change in the area around them. This cautious nature usually pays off, and a Masquerade Fly will typically live to see the end of their lives naturally.

Selachimorpha Ichthyoid Fauna[]

"Sand Sharks. Probably the one animal on Haven I can say I actually despise. Imagine my shock as while taking a nice stroll down the warm sands of the Auit-Islet, only to almost lose both of my legs from a beast that should never exist on land. There's not enough C-Units in the Universe to make me go back to that blasted island again."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Sand Shark

A Sand Shark seen jumping out at its prey.

Sand Shark: Overview []

The Sand Sharks are a rare species of terrestrial Ichthyoid (fish) native exclusively to the Auit-Islet of the Theltheim Isles. They resemble many shark species native to both Earth , and Haven, and they are one of the only terrestrial sharks on Haven. They are very rare, with a global population of only around Five hundred, as well, they are only known to inhabit the small island of the Auit-Islet, and are not found anywhere else in the world. They have an appearance very similar to many different species of sharks, such as the Tiger Shark. They are a very aggressive predatory species, often feeding on any creature unfortunate enough to cross within their path.

Despite their low numbers, they are extremely infamous to the inhabitants of the Auit-Islet and the wider the Thelthiem Isles due to their fearful nature and behavior, making many weary of traversing the open sands of the island.

Sand Shark: Physical[]

Sand Sharks, while technically being a fish, actually live on land, but despite this, it has almost the same physiology to that of a sea-dwelling Icthyoid. They have two front facing eyes, a large mouth with twenty-eight razor sharp sets of replaceable teeth, and a two nostril nose. It will take a Sand Shark around five standard years to fully mature, with females being able to lay around thirty eggs at once. The largest Sand Shark known measures around nine feet long (two meters), but despite their fairly mundane size they require a constant supply of meat to survive, needing at least one ton of fresh meat a day, making them constantly on the hunt, taking anything they can get.

With their large fins, an individual Sand Shark is able to skirt across the sands at incredible speeds, clocking in at a maximum speed of sixty-eight kilometers per hour, making them a living missile. Typically, their dorsal fin will stick above the sands, and the sand will be disturbed, making large clouds surrounding it, giving creatures ample warning of their approach. But despite how obvious they are, due to their extreme speeds and incredible agility, being able to turn in any direction underneath the sands in seconds, it's almost impossible to escape them on land.

Along with their speed, the Sand Shark has some of the most powerful jaws of any creature on Haven, with a biting force of around thirty thousand pounds per square inch, thanks to the incredibly powerful muscles all around their mouths. The teeth themselves are also extremely sharp, being able to puncture skin with minimal effort, however they are fairly brittle, often cracking and or falling off, but thanks to their interchanging rows of teeth, it almost never affects them.

Sand Sharks have a suite of sensory abilities, with an average hearing range of around a half of a kilometer, as well as an eye sight that allows them to see things up to seven kilometers away. However, the two most powerful sensory organs they posses is their nose and their skin. Their nose has been developed to be able to detect small sand burrowing animals native to the Auit-Islet, in a range of around a kilometer, making an individual Sand Shark acutely aware of most creatures in their immediate vicinity.

Their skin is able to detect vibrations of the sands above them, allowing them to shoot up on unsuspecting prey. Along with the sensory capabilities, their skin is extremely solid, as they need to contend with rival Sand Sharks fairly regularly, leaving them riddled scars and deep gashes.

Sand Shark: Behavior[]

The most prevalent behavioral trait of Sand Sharks is their extremely aggressive behavior towards anything that comes anywhere near them, often attacking things they have no hope of contending against simply because they crossed within an arbitrary threshold of some kind. This often includes other Sand Sharks, as they often will cross paths, leading to spectacular battles to be waged.

When a female Sand Shark is pregnant, their aggressive behavior will be increased ten fold, as it requires a larger quantity of meat, settling for anything within its grasp. After their young fully mature, then they will often not recognize them as their own progeny and will attack on instinct, leading to a high mortality rate fore newly formed adult Sand Sharks.

Medusozoa Cnidaria Fauna[]

"The Thera have a very unique appearance, looking like a piece of well-fitted white cloth floating in the deep. They are also some of the most photogenic of Haven's brilliant creatures, with it being impossible to not capture a gorgeous shot when attempting to image their respective colonies."-William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Thera

A typical Thera.

Thera: Overview[]

The Thera are an uncommon species of Medusozoa Cnidaria, or more commonly known as: "Jellyfish" that exists across Haven's salt-water oceans. They have a unique appearance, appearing like white cloth floating in the deep and are sparsely located across the planet, with small pockets of the creature known to exist in various areas, with a global population of around six hundred thousand.

Unlike most Medusozoa fauna, Thera have a large spinal cord extending throughout their body, which in technicality disqualifies them from the traditional cnidarian classification, but as they are an exact mirror image of that of typical Medusozoa fauna, they have been classified as such.

Thera: Physical[]

The baseline physical appearance and overall structure is very similar to many Medusozoa species across the known universe. Their bodies are primarily made up of a jelly-like materiel known as: "Mesoglea" making them incredible soft and squishy. However the respective Mesoglea that makes up their body has a fairly unique texture that takes the appearance and feeling of well-crafted cloth, and this texture will always take a white-colored appearance, with no known variation of color. Like most Medusozoa, their bodies are mostly made up of water, with the aforementioned liquid making up for around eighty percent of their entire body.

The only internal organ that exists within a Thera is their large spinal cord, which takes the appearance of a large blue-colored bone located throughout the length of the animal's body. This spine serves as the sensory organ of the individual Thera, with each millimeter of its structure being covered with thousands of sensory groves that can feel out changes in the water around them, or feel changes in its body, allowing the Thera to have complete spatial around itself in an area of around ten feet and a three-hundred and sixty degree radius. As a result, Thera are totally blind and deaf and require their spine's to give the sensory impute to understand their environment and what's happening to them.

Thera belong to the respective category of Medusozoa that lack any form of stingers. Instead, their tentacle-like appendages are able to grip their prey with amazing strength, almost making escape impossible for smaller prey. Then they use their small digestive cavity to consume their prey, making them a carnivorous species.

During the end of a Thera's life cycle, which typically lasts around five hundred and sixty standard year time period, they will begin to clone themselves through form of asexual reproduction. Upon their death, the clone will spring from their host's body, starting out extremely small, only around five centimeters and will grow to its maximum height in around a hundred standard year time frame.

Thera: Behavior[]

During a Thera's life, they will typically spend all of their time slowly swimming across the oceans, attempting to locate small fish and other small aquatic fauna to feed on. Thanks to their biology, an individual Thera only requires a small amount of food per standard week to survive, allowing an individual Thera to survive for long periods of time without the need for more caloric energy.

Typically, colonies, or more commonly known as "blooms" of Thera's will form. These are large swarms of individual Thera grouped together to give off an air of intimidation towards other larger aquatic fauna that may attempt to consume them. These blooms range in size widely, but some have been reported to hold a population count of around fifteen thousand and span an area of around a kilometer.

Gastropoda Mollusca Fauna[]

"Funny thing about the Woron. I've probably accidentally filled several graveyards worth of the small creature during my travels as they are often hard to notice and easy to step on. While most of these were unintentional, I can say without a doubt a good number of them were intentional as they are quite tasty." -William Tancard's: Guide to Haven's Glorious Creatures.

Woron

A Woron seen sulking across the sandy ground.

Woron: Overview[]

The Woron are an extremely common species of mollusca of the gastropoda family of fauna native to the various beaches and deserts of Haven, with a global population of around fifteen billion, making the Woron the most common and populace Mollusca fauna known to exist on Haven. Due to their commonality, they are an integral part of Haven's entire biosphere, with each and ever ecosystem located in more barren regions of the planet using the Woron as the most important food source by carnivorous predator species.

As well as serving as an important food source to Haven's fauna, Woron are often eaten by the native populace of Haven, as its respective flesh is considered to be a delicacy by many Ambrosia Alliance species such as the main inhabitants of Haven, humans.

Woron: Physical[]

A Woron's baseline physical structure and appearance is very similar to most known gastropoda mollusca species, with a small slimy body, comprised of solidified calcium carbonate precipitated out into an organic matrix. Their physical structure is very flat and round, making them appear like a flattened grayish colored mass of gelatinous liquid. Their bodies are covered in various sensors that send signals to the Woron's small brain, giving the creature an overall understanding of the area around them, as they lack any form of sight, heating, or smell.

They are very slow, only being able to travel at a maximum speed of around 0.019 kilometers an hour, making them easy prey for almost any animal. However what they lack in speed they make up for in defense, as the shells that sit upon their backs are fairly durable, taking a fair amount of force to break. These shells are mainly used to protect the Woron's body from the boiling heat produced by Hope, as their bodies would otherwise almost instantly dry out, and once they sensed approaching danger, they will quickly retract themselves into their shells, in the hopes this will defend against the would be attacker.

Their diet consists of various small bacteria that exist on the ground they slowly move across, with their mouths specifically developed to function as a sort of microscopic vacuum, being able to consume large amounts of bacteria. A Woron will constantly eat at every moment of every day, and as they do not require sleep, a Woron will eat infidelity until' their lives come to an end, causing a single Woron to eat several billions of individual bacteria during their life time.

Woron: Behavior[]

During a Woron's life, they will constantly wander a fixed location, typically an area of land only consisting of around ten feet in diameter. This small area of land will effectively be a Woron's entire universe, and there will typically around twenty individual Woron in any given area such as this.

They will wander aimlessly eating bacteria during most of the year, however during the winter months of Haven's standard year, male female Woron will begin to slowly approach each other, and once they reach the apotheosis of this, they will begin to mate. Once completed, a female Woron will almost immediately begin to lay eggs, eventually laying a clutch of around eight eggs in just one standard hour after. Afterwards, the eggs will hatch only five standard hours later and will emerge fully grown, as a Woron will do all of its growing inside the egg proper, and the cycle will begin anew.

Native Intelligent Species[]

Havenites (extinct)[]

The Havenites are the most famous and influential species to ever arise from Haven, as well as being the first. Resembling your typical raptor bird on Earth , such as eagles or hawks, the Havenites would conquer the entirety of their home world and beyond during Haven's ancient desert period, eventually being inducted into the once galaxy conquering Etymology. And though they would die alongside the rest of the galaxy during the faithful Red Galaxy Event, their legacy would remain on Haven, leaving behind countless ruins for the planet's future inhabitants to discover, painting a clear picture of their previous existence.

Havelmorthum[]

The Havelmorthum would come into being billions of years after the Havenites that preceded them. They are a mammalian species, resembling a strange mix of primate and canine, they are a simple species unlike their ancestors, only reaching the late embryonic stage in recent history. They worship the many relics left behind by their contemporaries, worshiping ancient Havenite effigies as all-powerful gods. They have yet to leave the borders of the land in which they originate, the Hearth's Ring archipelago, and the other races of Haven have been barred from interacting with them, as to not break the: "Contact Directive"

Neo-Havenites[]

The Neo-Havenites, as their name implies, are an artificial species created by the Ambrosia Alliance of United System based on the original Havenites that once thrived on Haven. The Neo-Havenites themselves were created through splicing both human DNA, and ancient Havenite DNA discovered through various means. The ethicality of this was heavily scrutinized, but once they actually came into being, the Neo-Havenites were given a seat in the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems, and they have continued to thrive on Haven, as well as worlds beyond it.

Haven-Born[]

The Haven-Born are a group of Human, Ugnara, Ko'rr and other humanoid Ambrosian species who genetically altered themselves to make their Haven heritage more apparent. Not to be confused with the term: "Haven-Born" which refers to the ethnicity of one who is from Haven, the Haven-Born genetically altered themselves with things such as wings, the ability to breathe underwater, and large fin like organisms on their arms and legs.

History[]

Planet Haven started to form shortly after the creation of it's parent star, Hope in 4,598,000,000 BCE. It finished forming in 4,500,000,000 BCE.

In the planet's early history, Haven was a volcanic hell world, slowly cooling from it's formation. The first major event in Haven's history was in 4,209,673,732 BCE when an ancient Hopeian planet collided with Haven, destroying the planet, and cutting Haven's size by half. After the collision the majority of the debris formed two major moons, Hearth, and Harmony. The remainder became dwarf moons, or crashed into the planet. This event may also be the origin of life on Haven.

Life continued to evolve without interference by any intelligent Ambrosian civilization for millions of years until what we would know as the Havenites fully evolved on the Pathiel continent around 2,490,000,000 BCE.
