Description[]

Via Aylathiya (Pronounced EYE-low-thin) is an unbarred spiral galaxy, located near the edge of the Local Universe. Via Aylathiya is the largest in the Local Universe, housing just over a trillion stars and is the home galaxy of numerous civilizations. Notably, Via Aylathiya is the central galaxy of the Commonwealth of United Economic Nations, one of the most prominent forces in the entire Universe. The massive nature of Via Aylathiya has also made it a great place for resource extraction. For much of its history, it was also the center of colonialism; as such, many colonies have appeared in its clouds.

Most importantly, Aylathiya's size has given it an abundance of life, resources, and intricacies that are unrivaled by most known galactic objects. This has allowed numerous species, ancient and modern, to rise and live a life entirely within its clouds. As nations rose and fell, the ones which are known today rose and formed the Commonwealth of United Economic Nations, which still prospers even after civil conflicts and intergalactic warfare. The nations in Via Aylathiya have had a more than profound effect on the intragalactic environment.

Via Aylathiya was named after the ancient Sedruan word Aylathia, which approximately translates to Mighty Land. It has since adopted the nickname of "The Galaxy of Might", which relates to the eras of the ancient empires, as well as the Commonwealth. Many of its systems, which were seeded with life and development by the nation of Sedrua, rose to power and created the Commonwealth in due time. Now, Via Aylathiya is revered for being one of the most developed, populated, and wealthy areas of space.

History[]

Prehistory[]

Fractured remains of ancient civilizations litter Aylathiya's scape greatly. While many of these are attributed to Sedrua, the United Provinces, or others, there is no doubt that Via Aylathiya housed much older nations. The earliest reputable piece of evidence was found to be over 3.9 billion years old, though pieces like it have no cohesive origin. Nevertheless, there have been countless discoveries which have shaped Aylathiya's past in many different ways.

The oldest reliable evidence is approximately 750 million years old. Remains of an established nation exists in the form of scriptures, structures, and other isolated remnants. This is referred to as the First Aeternal Society, a nation thought to risen by the hands of the First Aeternaborne. Evidence in the Lux Aeterna suggests that such an Aeternaborne was equal or above that of Mother Sydiah's power. Various depictions of divine, god-like figures support this idea, as any being with such power would be nothing short of enigmatic. The First Aeternal Society is thought to have originated near Central Aylathia, Aylathiya's supermassive black hole.

Zathaia is the oldest verified civilization in Via Aylathiya. Forming sometime in the 300,000s BCE, it grew to dominate Zuvay, an outlying region of dense gas and star systems. Zathaia was birthed from the Zothons, a race of pacifists and isolationists. Following the subjugation of Zuvay, Zathaia had no need for expansion. It lived in relative harmony for many millennia, living in a blissful environment of technology and resources. With no competition, Zathaia has no major militaries, and existed in a way which most saw fit.

It is thought that this continued for approximately 100,000 years. At around 200,000 BCE, the Arkhos rose and created the United Provinces. It was the first nation to definitively practice elitism. The Arkhos believed that they were the only species to ever have, or will, exist in Via Aylathiya. As such, they expanded with unrivaled vehemence. Upon discovering Zathaia, great unrest was spurred and the Arkho-Zothon War took place, resulting in the end of Zathaia. The Zothons were gradually extinguished over many thousands of years.

Ancient History[]

While the U.P. ruled supreme over Via Aylathiya, it was not safe from internal conflict. A group of extremists named the Order of the Arkhos began a rebellion named the Arkho Civil War. Their primary cultural identity starkly contrasted that of the United Provinces, as the Order believed in 'transcending' by uploading people's conscience to artifical bodies. The rebellion was swift, beginning and ending in the early 130,000s BCE. The Order and the U.P. showed great resentment for a time, though it steadily cooled as they still shared many beliefs.

In the year 129,591 BCE, a mystical yet un-noticed event took place. A major Aeterna Cascade shook the grounds of the Suvaren Field, the result of Mother Sydiah breaching the Lux Aeterna into reality. Believing that the First Aeternaborne sent her to spread its knowledge, Sydiah quickly established Bakeyatalla, a structure which gave birth to Sydiah's Architects. She founded Aeternalism upon the birth of Vurilia Jiutopati, marking him as the first and most powerful Architect. Many more were created in the following years, though the United Provinces did not seem to notice.

The Chosen of Sydiah was founded as a precursor to Sedrua. It served as a method to effectively control Sydiah's Architects. Upon Sydiah's expansion, she permitted the creation of the Bahattes, the Eyes of Sedrua, and the Intergalactic Gateway Network. Both ended up spreading Aeternalism far and wide, resulting in Zushilo's colonization and Sydiah's satisfaction. Eventually, Sedrua was properly created and Sydiah's forces expanded across Via Aylathiya.

It would not take long until the Arkhos found out about Sedrua. While both the Order and the U.P. harbored hatred for one another, they were united against outsiders. Upon contact, the U.P. was hostile to Sedrua while the Order was seemingly uninterested. Tensions quickly rose between the U.P. and Sedrua, culminating in the formation of Sedrua's military and expansion of the Eyes of Sedrua. Sedrua spied on the U.P. for a time, but it was ventually noticed by scouting forces.

Aylathiya's Siege[]

Main Article: Aylathiya's Siege

The U.P. was outraged at Sedrua for their attempts of spying. As such, they began to search for and destroy and Sedruan observation posts. In response, Sydiah directed a force of over 150,000 Architects to handle the emergent conflict. War was informally declared as Sedrua breached the United Province's borders. The U.P, appalled by Sedrua's sudden actions, scrambled their military and soon met with the Sedruan front. The Order of the Arkhos, seeing an opportunity in the war, aided Sedrua in hopes of vanquishing their rival. The Order believed it would deal with Sedrua after the U.P's defeat, giving them an opportunity to become Aylathiya's strongest nation.

The war reached its climax as the U.P. could not hold back Sedrua's forces. Eventually, the Order joined Sedrua, forcing the U.P. to fight two fronts. Sakijast was destroyed to the dismay of the Order, believing Sedrua violated Arkho culture. They later launched an attack of Sedrua, effectively betraying it and tipping the war in favor of the Order. Sydiah was furious upon the breakage of trust, sending thousands of new Architects across the main front. The U.P. was no longer a major threat as the Order began to get overwhelmed. It eventually surrendered, an act which was against most Arkho beliefs.

Sedruan Era[]

Sedrua quickly expanded after the war, removing Arkho guerilla forces and occupying all former U.P. space. Sydiah became Aylathiya's most influential leader, holding the most political power compared to anyone of the time. Dissenting sectors of relative anarchy were taken and reformed, attempting displaying Sydiah as nothing but a benefactor of Via Aylathiya. Those in the U.P's former colonies began to trust Sydiah, though it would take several generations of people. In time, the Arkhos were given equal status to the Bahattes. Both species were also permitted to expand without the watch of Architects.

The expensionist policies allowed Sedrua to expand its reach very quickly. They reached Central Aylathiya in the early 124,000s, with Sydiah finding promise in extracting the black hole's energy. Sedrua eventually constructed Aylathiya's Sphere, fulfilling Sydiah's internal desires of matching the First Aeternal Society. It undeniably helped with Sedruan expansion as well, making it a Superpower by the mid 114,000s. But a few decades after, Sedrua encountered its first of many lesser civilizations. These people, named the Phazaels, marked a turning point in Aylathiya's history. Eventually, six more species were found all across the galaxy, made into vassal states and given some sovereignty in turn for adopting Sedruan faith.

Aeternalism spread as the uplifted species grew. They were quickly given a high status in Sedruan society, seen as equals to the Bahattes and Arkhos. Most notably, the Zythyns of Lorokira were very fanatic about Aeternalism. Many adopted it as the one true faith, as Zythyn forces began spreading its word to the uninformed. Other species shared the same sentiment, re-enforcing a seemingly unstoppable growth of Aeternalism. Near the end of the Sedruan Era, scouting forces discovered the Ambrosian Remnants, ancient relics which Sydiah believed would help her Thaumaturgic power. She took them to Bakeyatalla, though she only managed to study the Amaranth Echoes. The Cabal of Amaranth Truth was created, and Sydiah employed her most trusted of individuals to keep the artifacts safe.

While expansion brought great short-term success, it was clear that many footholdings were not stable. As such, Sedrua had a growing difficulty keeping its colonies under control. Infrastructure in remote areas was comparatively worse than those closer to the center of Sedrua. Additionally, numerous Architects were succumbing to Thaumaturgic Insanity, a condition caused by overuse of one's Pylon.

Eventually, this caused distant Sedruan sectors to dissolve or break off, something which Sydiah was very much worried of. To remedy the situation, Sydiah attempted to rapidly create Architects, though it caused her Pylon to go under extreme stress, shattering and causing various adverse effects. Upon shattering, thousands of rifts were created, one of them sending Sydiah to the Lux Aeterna. In the year 104,930 BCE, Via Aylathiya was suddenly connected to the Aeterna with little to no forces capable of closing the rifts.

Wane of Reality[]

Main Article: Wane of Reality

What followed is known as the Wane of Reality, a cascading series of chaotic events which drastically affected Aylathiya's civilizations. Initially, those who believed in Aeternalism welcomed the event, believing that Sydiah transcended reality. Many of her followers thought of the Lux Aeterna as an afterlife or heaven. As such, many people willingly entered the rifts without knowledge of their chaotic nature. Sydiah's Architects were especially coaxed by these rifts, and approximately 28% of them went through before they realized its effects. As the rifts were being cornered off, the faiths of many people began to waver.

Vurilia Jiutopati, an especially skeptical Architect, believed that Sydiah's faith in Aeternalism was outright incorrect. This idea was shared by Drizuna Cluythlo, one of Vurilia's most trusted colleagues. Shortly after the main incident, they fowarded a different idea Aeternalism, creating Novel Aeternalism. While it quickly became an unpopular faith, it is thought that quadrillions of people aligned to it regardless. Several smaller and more isolated branches were created as well, creating a religious divide.

With Via Aylathiya divided and its fate uncertain, Sedrua attempted to alleviate the damage. Most rifts were closed after a few centuries, though regional damage was severe in many cases. Some regions didn't recover until long after the Wane itself ended, and even then, Sedrua was plagued by instability. By the 100,000s, the galactic climate came to relative stability, but the damage was irrepearable. Sedrua removed itself from Asamun/Binasa and various regions around Via Aylathiya.

Sedrua-Alliance War[]

Main Article: Sedrua-Alliance War

Upon the loss of its distant territory, Sedrua became desperate to cling on to anything which remained. After the formation of the Septet Alliance, the Sedruan government became obsessively worried. Their successful rise and threatening power made Itrian Ustya, Sedrua's new leader, paranoid. He wanted nothing less than absolute military superiority if he wished for his nation to survive. As such, he pre-emptively attacked the Alliance during 79,146 BCE without approval from the Sedruan senate. His plan was unorganized, hastily made with hopes that sending enough Architects would de-stabilize Sedrua's rival.

The first fleets were met with an unexpectedly high amount of resistance. the Alliance knew that Sedrua was a potential threat, especially after harsh diplomatic sessions. They also did not underestimate their opponent; while they lacked any plans of how to defeat Sedrua, they prepared accordingly. In addition, the Itarian Ustya had underestimated the strength of the Alliance There was a strong sense of brotherhood, unity, and morale, something which Sedrua lacked following the Wane of Reality.

While the Alliance was able to pick off most Sedruan offense, newer fleets proved to be too numerous to handle. They were operated by the Oculus of Truth, an artificial intelligence which operated most Sedruan warfleets. Despite this, the Alliance continued fighting, eventually using POLIKY, a network of superintelligences, to combat the Oculus. Using tactics never seen before, the Alliance managed to force Sedrua into retreat. The battle left both sides exhausted, leading to a stalemate and resulting in low Sedruan morale. Long after the war, Sedrua created Sydiah's Paragons, a dangerous force of automota which later vanquished two Alliance nations. The Quintet Payotari Association was born as a result.

Formulative Period[]

Much like the climate prior to the Sedrua-Alliance War, there was an emergent threat which challenged Sedrua's standing. It was a distant civilization, not native to Via Aylathiya but Via Aylathiya. It was named the Triumvirate Civilization, a nation which was created around the same time as the Alliance At first, Sedrua noted it as fodder, though the Triumvirate's growth quickly changed Sedrua's perspective. While the Alliance was arguably lesser to Sedrua's power, the potential of the Triumvirate was much different. It dominated Via Aylathiya's satellite galaxies, projected to become a major Type-III civilization. In order to prevent national unrest and paranoia, the ever-expansionist Sedruan government made a daring mission to colonize Via Aylathiya.

Some time in the 65,000s, Sedrua's colonization efforts had early success. The planet Hathia became the centerpiece of a loose yet promising stretch of interstellar land. It was apparent, however, that these claims were poorly funded and relatively unenforced. Even still, it gave the Sedruan populous much-needed hope against the Triumvirate. Approximately three millennia of peace followed, though were put to an abrupt end as Sedrua was still nervous of the Triumvirate's growing power. The Administrator in particular surpassed Itrian's strength, prompting a pre-emptive response like that of the Sedrua-Alliance War.

Sedrua-Triumvirate War[]

Main Article: Sedrua-Triumvirate War Much more thought was placed into Sedrua's tactics in the months before the war. Itrian devised a way of using most remaining Architects to destabilize the Trimvirate, hoping to prevent them from formulating a counterattack. Three divisions of Architects were assigned to the Ventemir, Florescence, and Ouranir galaxies respectively. Additionally, advanced strike craft, drones, and automated forces were led by said Architects. The outcome appeared to be hopeful for Sedruan tacticians, especially Itrian and other Architects.

During 61,814 BCE, Sedrua launched a sudden offensive against Florescence. The Triumvirate were not anticipating such an invasion, especially considering the nonexistant diplomatic relations prior. This allowed Sedrua to swiftly take control over the entire galaxy within weeks. The second and third divisions were later sent to Ouranir, which fell in the following century. Since Sedruan tactics appeared to work flawlessly against Sedrua's newest threat, they did not change in the slightest.

The attack against Ventemir proved to be the hardest in the war, and for good reason. The Triumvirate stored the bulk of its assets in the galaxy, backed by The Administrator. Their defenses were formidable, as Sedrua was unable to push through the fringes of Ventemir. It was at this stage when Itrian ordered thousands of Architects to breach the Triumvirate's defenses. It showed early success, though the process of invasion was much slower than anticipated. Under-the-table funding from the QPA also supplied the Triumvirate with resources. Nearly five centuries passed before any significant improvement. They were eventually thwarted as the Triumvirate unleashed various weaponry beyond Sedrua's capabilities.

Ameliorative Period[]

The embarrasment that was the Sedrua-Triumvirate War profundly affected Aylathiya's people. Knowing that seemingly inferior threats were able to win against Aylathiya's strongest nation gave rise to dissent. At first, it was a loud call to reform. Many generals, oligarchs, and senators did not approve of Itrian's apparent failure of leadership. As such, he and many asociates were ousted from the Sedruan government. Vurilia Jiutopati was officially elected as Sedrua's leader. While many of his alignments were unpopular, he undoubetdly changed Aylathiya's civilizations by giving them more agency. He created a system of representatives, planned to make amends with the QPA and Triumvirate, and wished to expand Sedrua in a less aggressive manner. He intended to gain immense profit and power as a result.

Expansion was the on the forefront of the people's minds. from the QPA to Sedrua, numerous people shared a growng sentiment of prosperity. For Sedrua, formerly useless land was repurposed, populated with megastructures and sites of great vanity. For the QPA, expansion was achieved with a growing sense of brotherhood and pride. Their expansion rates matched that of Sedrua and both entities gained trust for one another. Both the QPA and Sedrua freely traded by the 35,000s, though they still had great suspicion from leftover tensions. Nevertheless, Sedrua became much more transparent to not only its people, but to other governments.

The Sedruan Coup[]

Main Article: Sedruan Coup Thousands of years of this new leadership gave rise to a large amount of dissent. Vurilia lessened the need for Thaumaturgy, relegion, and allowed anyone to freely travel or colonize. It went against the beliefs of many Architects and the Sedruan people. Nevertheless, Vurilia defied their beliefs and continued to lead Sedrua in a more democratic way. Eventually, discontent grew to the point of governmental division. During 21,473 BCE, Itrian and a colleague named Thonde Eflein came together and orchetstrated a takeover of the Sedruan government.

Upon a hearing of the Sedruan Senate, a majority of the senators stood from their positions, suddenly attacking opposing members. Vurilia himself fled, surviving the coup though hundreds were killed or incapacitated. Afterward, both Thonde and Itrian justified their act, claiming that Vurilia no longer represented the will of the people. After several days of chaos, the senate voted to remove him from office. In turn, Thonde took the position as Sedrua's leader and Itrian would serve as her chief advisor. The two acted as equals, sharing authority between themselves and their newly reformed senate. Itrian immediately began acting upon his desire to build what he referred to as a "Truly fair and responsible society". It included a return to the old ways, especially religion and Thaumaturgy.

Resulting from the coup's chaos rose extremists. Before Sedrua was able to crack down on opposition, multiple Arkho-dominated groups of nationalists formed. Idetifying themselves with the United Provinces, these people attempted to create secessionist movements within Sedruan vassal states. Lasting from 21,462 to 21,453 BCE, mass rioting and militarization led to an upheaval of regional chaos, and many thought that a civil war may have been inevitable. After a few months however, the Sedruan Government was able to silence the secessionist movement. It marked a turning point in Sedruan history, an age where the government directly and publicly silenced the people's voices.

Rebellion Era[]

While many of Aylathiya's people welcomed the changes, there were those who viewed it is corrupt and dangerous. Such dissidents appeared all over Via Aylathiya, though most were present in the Quintet Payotari Federation and Sedrua's vassal states. In order to accomidate any future chaos, Thonde implemented a system which leaned towards equality while keeping a vast majority of Sedrua's previous ideals. The people were given an illusion of choice in government matters, something condemned by the QPA though a large percentage of Sedruan reformists complied. Sedrua increased its isolationist policy as well, cutting contact with the QPA and removing itself from embassies. It was a popular choice in the government, as they wanted to focus Sedrua's aseets on their own people rather than other nations.

The following few millennia were marked by relative instability. Sedrua was hardly able to keep its people satisfied, as contrasting political movements rose from the coup's aftermath. Vassal states were unstable as well, as there was a growing need to become independent. Further pressure for reform did not sit well with Sedrua's government, as they silenced most voices that tried to bring about change. On the contrary, the Rebellion Era saw a massive increase in religious activity in Via Aylathiya. The lower class sought solace in the teachings of their forefathers, seeking out comfort in various traditions. This resulted in a rise of Novel Aeternalism, which was against most core Sedruan beliefs of the time.

As Sedrua was becoming less cohesive, Thonde attempted to directly address the issues at hand. She attempted to silence opposition, enforcing the Sedruan military against what she referred to as "Ill thinking". This was mostly attempted thoughout the 16,600s, though later attempts happened as well. The lack of Architects made this goal impossible however, resulting in a punitive attempt to censor reform. Reformists were outraged, demanding a return to Vurilia's form of governance. Other, more wealthy people blamed the reformists for the ongoing chaos, citing Vurilia's leadership as a violation of Sydiah's teachings.

Great Aylathiya Rebellion[]

Main Article: Great Aylathiya Rebellion

The QPA noticed this, believing that it could take advantage of the division. They planned to fund revolutionaries, hoping to foment a rebellion within Sedrua. At first, little success occurred, until the Phazaels were able to bolster a force of revolutionaries. During 11,691 BCE, they declared themselves as an independent state, denouncing Sedruan rule and preferring a system of democracy. Sedrua responded harshly, fuelling the fire for an all-out war. A surge of exiting refugees rapidly changed the cultural climate in the Phazael vassal state, further changing the mindset of those who remained. Most Phazaels were now focused on protecting their own interests rather than trying to maintain peace.

In the midst of the first war, the largest Zythyn vassal state also declared itself as independent during 11,619 BCE. They started their own revolutaionary force after garnering funds from the QPA. Sedrua responded quickly, sending their forces with intent to crush the Phazael and Zythyn rebels. War became painfully slow however, as vassal states had a homefield advantage. While their militaries were significantly smaller, they managed to drag the revolutions into guerilla war. Leaders from all sorts of extremes united against their common enemy, utilizing every piece of leverage they could get their hands on. Eventually, all Sedruan vassals declared independence, and in the span of 800 years Sedrua lost most of its influence in Via Aylathiya. It sealed itself away in the Suvaren Field, fully embracing the ways of isolationism.

National Procession[]

What formed in Sedrua's place was a league of independent nations. Namely, they were the Carant League of Aylathiya, Core Worlds Alliance, Free Systems of Hivol, Golomian Confederation, Economic States of Nerichi, Lowyzol Federation, and Diunity of Peleunsk. Each nation held different ideologies and goals, separating from one another to rebuild infrastructure and their economies. Aeternalism decreased in popularity among all types of people, and the non-religious population grew. Some cultures mixed or split off, new ideas flourished, and the old ways died off.

Over the next few centuries, pacts and treaties between nations became common after infrastructure was re-established. Many trade routes opened up as well, allowing for economic growth between all juvenile nations. They were bonded under their hatred for Sedrua, acting as allies when needed but otherwise maintaining their independence. The only exceptions were The Diunity and the Free Systems of Hivol. Both nations were relatively isolationist, and their leaders chose not to interract out of fear of being influenced by other countries.

Specifically, The Diunity harbored minimal hatred for Sedrua. Instead, they believed that separation gave them an opportunity to expand. Originally a group of Sedruan loyalists, cultural changes and government influence soon led down an authoritarian path. The Zythyn tendency to adopt and defend new faiths resulted in rapid cultural changes. Eventually, the Government and most Diunity citizens held closely the idea of a unified Via Aylathiya. This unification involved the creation of a hive mind, the Resonant Divinity, built on Wa-Strionarh to create and assimilate Magi. If completed, the Divinity would be multiple times stronger than the strongest of Architects.

War for Peleunsk[]

Main Article: War for Peleunsk

Most LZF citizens and politicians harbored immense paranoia and distrust to The Diunity. A common belief rose, comparing The Diunity directly to Sedrua and naming them traitors to the rebellion. During 9,197 BCE, the LZF attempted a preliminary strike out of fear of the Resonant Divinity. The LZF intended to halt production of Magi, selectively targeting manufacturing centers and disabling most local defense. Their hope was to weaken the Diunity enough to secure a victory before the Divinity activated. It quickly became apparent that the Diunity was prepared however, and the offensive came to a quick stop. In response, The Diunity launched a massive counterattack, delaying the LZF forces. A struggling gridlock ensued.

Surrounding the conflict, the newly formed Sedruan revolutionaries looked on in great concern. The Core Worlds Alliance, a nation very close to Peleunsk, thought of the war as an infringement for what the rebellion stood for. They showed little but disdain to The Diunity, viewing them as recreant traitors. Nationalism was prevalent in the Alliance, growing with each passing year of the war. To ensure their survival, the Alliance joined the war effort, citing the Diunity's efforts as "a violation to the safety of Aylathiya and her newly freed people". With this declaration, the Alliance decided on a plan to break through the blockade and attack the heart of The Diunity's power. The CWA mobilized much of its fleet, including reserves, and joined the Lowyzol Federation.

The alliance sent a small force in order to establish a foothold. The goal was to draw attention away from the main assault against The Diunity proper. While it failed at first, the core worlds eventually succeeded in creating a second front line. After two years of stalemate, the Core Wars Alliance began pushing forward. The Diunity immediately lost many of its claims, regressing to its former position before the war. Attempts at striking back were met with greater force, forcing The Diunity into a losing battle.

Both Lowyzol and Alliance fronts destroyed the Diunity's efforts to maintain stability. While they resisted with great force, the possibility of total LZF-Alliance victory began to crystalize. Magi were redirected from assimilation to be used in the war, though they were ineffective, resulting from a hasty and lackluster production. Continuing efforts were later silenced by the Lowyzol Federation, especially after the creation of the Electric Field Drive. This technology was shared with the Alliance as well, allowing both fronts to outflank The Diunity's collapsing military.

By 8,981 BCE, The LZF approached Wa-Strionarh and clawed its way into its structure, even destroying populated sectors in an attempt to reach the Resonant Divinity. The Diunity fought desperately to hold off the invasion. However, the loss of its military meant that the LZF could easily overwhelm any defenses. It ultimately allowed an Alliance warfleet to orchestrate a final thrust into the heart of Wa-Strionarh. By the end of the year, the Resonant Divinity was no more. The Treaty of the Divinity was signed weeks after, with the pretense that The Diunity would dissolve and that the LZF would gain territory in Peleunsk.

Reformation Era[]

To ensure that no such major war would ever happen again, the Lowyzol Federaion and Core Worlds Alliance founded the Commonwealth of United Economic Nations. The CUEN was a solely defense and trade pact at the time, originally spanning across two nations. The Golomian Confederacy joined in as well, fearing that any subsuquent war could effect them. The Carant League of Aylathiya also joined, though it was after decades of growing consideration. Immediately, the Commonwealth became opulent, and the LZF was repaired in the following decades. Remaining forces belonging to The Diunity were classified as terroristic, subsuquently being eliminated in about a century.

Political Regions[]

Via Aylathiya has a multitude of locations, which have since divided into culturally and politically agreed upon sectors. There is also a system of directions, which are listed as coreward, rimward, spinward, and antispinward. A set of cardinal directions, which were created for the alignment of maps, have been made with standard north, south, east, and west directions. These are not regularly used for travel in Via Aylathiya. A political map of Via Aylathiya and its sectors is displayed below:

Aylatheri[]

Aylatheri (EYE-lath-ERR-ee) is a region which extends from the core to the rim of Via Aylathiya. It is named after the Sedruan phrase for "neighboring realm". It borders Suvathiya, Lorokwa, and The Crown. In history, Aylatheri was host to tumultuous conflict, being the center of the United Provinces and the Order of the Arkhos. Ever since their dissolution in ancient times, Aylatheri was a strategic center for Sedrua. This lasted for many millennia, though Sedrua's regression forced it away from Aylatheri. Today, it is populated by the Empire of Grand Gatlantia and the Guild of External Power. Both nations exist in relative peace, and there have are relatively few conflicts in Aylatheri.

Cenades[]

Cenades (seh-NAY-dees) is Aylathiya's densest region in terms of political influence. It is named after the Sedruan word for Core, referring to Eqeyun. It borders Nrichi, The Crown, and Lorokwa, and is the only sector except The Crown which has territory Aylathiya's core. Many years of political changes have greatly morphed its area, as it was originally around Eqeyun and its immediate area. It was once a center for Sedrua's distant territories, as Eqeyun's resources provided it with control. It was later taken by the Core Worlds Alliance and the Carant League of Aylathia, though they fell much like Sedrua. What remains today is the Communal Republic of Eqeyun, Cenades Interstellar Union, and the High Rule of Cenades.

Crown of Via Aylathiya[]

The Crown of Via Aylathiya (Often called The Crown) is Aylathiya's most wealthy of regions. It is home to a vast amount of star systems and resources, with Central Aylathiya at its center. It is encapsulated by Aylathiya's Sphere, a megastructure which provides a great amount of power to all of Aylathiya's inhabitants. In years past, The Crown was once in the reach of the United Provinces. However, the U.P's destruction resulted in full Seruan control. They constructed Aylathiya's Sphere, pushing forward the empire until its collapse. The Golomian Confederacy emerged from Sedrua, though it eventually morphed into Vaspujian. Today, Vaspujian is accompanied by the Empire of Lyncis, a juvenile civilization in comparison.

Holara[]

Holara (ho-LAH-ruh) is a region which is surrounded by Orithiya Sector and Nerichi. It is named after the Sedruan word for Outlier, referring to its apparent distance from Sedrua. It is best characterized by the Via Aurum Nebula, which has been noted as Holara's center of development. Via Aurum itself is a byproduct of the Wane of Reality, a series of tumultuous events which led to Sedrua's downfall. What rests today is a resource-rich nebula, claimed by the Sovereign Provinces of Aylathia and the Thulcandran Federation.

Lorokwa[]

Lorokwa (lo-RO-kwa) is a region bordering Cenades and Aylatheri. It is named after an old Zythyn phrase for Our Refuge, being re-named after the Zythyn-Sedruan War. Lorokwa is dominated by Peleunsk, a former galaxy which has since merged with Via Aylathiya. What remains is a dense, prosperous region of starlight. In ancient times, Lorokwa was prized by Sedrua for its accesible resources. It was quickly overtaken as the Zythyns were used to spread Aeternalism. Following Sedrua's decline, the Lowyzol Federation rose up. It remains as the only civilization present in Lorokwa.

Nerichi[]

Nerichi (ner-EE-chee) is a region which borders Cenades and Holara. Is is named after the Staleyan word for Vestige, referring to the Staleyan-Sedruan War. It is one of Aylathiya's largest regions, covering a vast swath of its south western area. Nerichi is home to the Nisrine Cloud, an aberration which is the result of an ancient merging event. While it was not fully colonized by Sedrua, Nerichi was the center of Sedruan assimilation. Sedrua was removed following the Phazael-Sedruan War and the Staleyan-Sedruan War, which left the Free Systems of Hivol and the Economic States of Nerichi in its wake. Following a long line of conflicts, the Nisrine Collective was also founded in the Nisrine Cloud.

Orithyia Sector[]

The Orithyia Sector is a region which borders Suvathiya and Holara. It is Aylathiya's largest sector, encompassing a large amount of its northern area. Its most obvious feature is the Orithiya, a merged galaxy much like Peleunsk and the Nisrine Cloud. It is the newest and largest of these merged galaxies, and is the center of a long, barbarious history. It was first controlled by the Septet Alliance, though a rivalry with Sedrua led to its destruction. What rests in its place is Sydiah's Paragons and the Quintet Payotari Association, two organizations born from conflict.

Suvathiya[]

Suvathiya (soo-VA-thee-uh) is a region which borders the Orithyia Sector, Aylatheri, and Zuvay. It is a combination of the words "Suvaren" and "Aylathiya", approximately translating to Sydiah's Homeland. Suvathiya's most apparent feature is the Suvaren Field, a large, nebulous realm which is the home of Sedrua. Suvathiya is Aylathiya's hub of Thaumaturgy, as Mother Sydiah's birth prompted its growth across civilized socities. While Sedrua collapsed from its height many millennia ago, it is still dominant all across Suvathiya. It remains as its only civilization in the modern day.

Zuvay[]

Zuvay is an isolated region which borders Suvathiya and Aylatheri. It is named after the Sedruan word for "Obscure", referring to the vast expanse of galactic wilderness that covers it all. Zuvay is uninhabited, but is notable for being the birthplace of Zathaia. After the Arkho-Zothon War, Zathaia was completely destroyed and the Zothons were exterminated. While Sedrua occupied Zuvay shortly after Aylathiya's Siege, it was abandoned upon its decline. As of the moden day, Zuvay is populated by unrecognized nomadic factions. The region has been largely forgotten by the rest of society.

Galactic Regions[]

Across Via Aylathiya exists a multitude of intragalactic features, which are called the 'galactic regions'. The galactic regions are the most prominent and noticeable aspects of Via Aylathiya, as they contain numerous contrasting features. Each region holds its own unique characteristics, and it is the interplay between these differences that create the vastness of Via Aylathiya. These regions, created from the interactions of galactic objects, have come to define the landscape of the galaxy as a whole. A list of prominent objects, from largest to smallest, is below:

Orithiya[]

Main Article: Orithiya

Orithyia

Orithiya, best characterized by its light golden color.

Orithiya is a large, wispy light-yellow colored conglomeration of stars, gas, and nebulae, which stretches across much of Via Aylathiya. It rests slightly above the galactic plane of the galaxy, in the area of the Orithyia Sector. The spiral took its shape from an ancient galactic collision, one which is still ongoing. In the ancient days of political history, Orithiya was dominated by the Septet Alliance (Alliance). As Sedrua expanded, the Alliance remained in a solitary state, though it was in relative prosperity. Benefitting from its rich resources, the Alliance exploited Orithiya, causing concern in the eyes of Sedrua. After the Wane of Reality and subsequent revolt, Sedrua created an organization called Sydiah's Paragons, tasked with dismantling the Alliance and paving the way for future Sedruan colonization.

The state of Orithiya changed greatly since the rise of the Paragons. It became very much hazardous, as the uncontrollable organization was able to kill off a significant portion of Septet star systems. While the rest of the galaxy continued to grow, Orithiya stagnated, remaining a vast and empty space. Civilization eventually collapsed, as the Alliance lost its power and influence. The Paragons, believing that it had won, entered a state of stasis. It kept a silent watch over old Alliance territory, to prevent any intruders in the now Sedruan land. The Quintet Payotari Association (QPA) rose from its ashes, hiding away from The Paragons in a deeper part of Via Aylathiya. Many worlds were left behind to rot under the guise of The Paragons.

Victory for Sedrua was short-lasting however, as mass revolt expunged much of the nation from its old lands. Orithiya, now seen as distant and unnecessary, was abandoned. The Suvaren Exclusion Zone prevented further Sedruan colonization, preventing even the slightest bit of hope for zealous people of the nation. The stagnation of Sedrua proved useful to the QPA, as it allowed them to expand their influence into Orithiya. Eventually, the QPA surpassed its old form, rising to be one of the most developed nations in Via Aylathiya. Even the War of the Ancients would not topple its supremacy, only cementing it as a major player in the intergalactic sphere.

What stands today is an area which is mostly recovered. The scars of war remain, but the destruction has been removed and Orithiya is now a vibrant and lively galactic region once again. The spiral is filled with various megastructures, valuable artifacts, and a dense population with access to a plethora or resources. The QPA transformed to be cordial as well, looking to trade with the Commonwealth among others. However, the recent re-activation of The Paragons has brought up the thoughts of new conflict.

Peleunsk[]

Main Article: Peleunsk

Peleunsk

Peleunsk, shown isolated from Via Aylathiya.

Peleunsk is a large region of Via Aylathiya, filled with a dense array of star systems around a central black hole. It is best characterized by its light yellow, almost gold coloration surrounded by a rough assembly of gas and dust. Known to be the product of a galaxy merger, Peleunsk has rested, becoming a stable region. Ever since the rise of civilization, Peleunsk has become a prosperous hub of economic activity and development. As of the modern day, it is influenced by the Lowyzol Federation (LZF), and is home to many of the largest interstellar trading centers.

The economy of Peleunsk is largely based on its rich resources. In addition, the region benefits from the LZF's cordial trading practices, which have made it one of the richest areas of Via Aylathiya. With the aid of the Lowyzol Federation, nearby regions have been able to benefit from Peleunsk's success. As such, it has allowed the Lowyzol Federation to gain a great foothold of influence in galactic affairs. The renowned worlds of Wa-Strionarh and Lorokira have allowed Peleunsk to prosper as well, since they are effectively hubs for regional activity.

Peleunsk is also known for its historical significance. It was once the center for the Commonwealth's Eclipse, a detrimental civil war which took place across the Commonwealth. It would be Peleunsk's opulence which allowed the LZF to wage war, though it was defeated after a long series of conflict. The events of the Eclipse resulted in the establishment of the current system of government, and the second rise of the Commonwealth. It would be Peleunsk that brought the Commonwealth forward, as it had the means to produce the necessary resources for the nation.

Peleunsk would serve as useful for the betterment of Commonwealth lifestyle. The cycle of trade and production would continue to grow. Aylathiya's Totality would not change Peleunsk much, though the war's involvement would result the a shift of galactic power. Sedrua became a threat once more, prompting the Commonwealth to increase defense in Peleunsk. Nevertheless, it would provide for many nations, especially during the War of the Ancients and the Second Recreator Conflicts. As of the modern day, the region has become somewhat peaceful. Via Aylathiya is still a hotbed of political intrigue, but the presence of Peleunsk allows for increased stability.

Suvaren Field[]

Main Article: Suvaren Field

Suvaren

The Suvaren Field

The Suvaren Field is a unique spherical structure, located in the outskirts of Via Aylathiya. It is best characterized by its chaotic looking appearance, which consists of dense pink-colored dust. Its appearance is a product of Sedrua and the Suvaren Exclusion Zone, which covered the field after a series of mass revolution. While the Suvaren Field is resented by many, the Suvaren Field is known for its exceedingly high quality of life and technology. It is also a relatively unknown region of space, as most outsiders are not permitted to access Sedrua's borders. This has shrouded the Suvaren Field in mystery for many thousands of years.

The Suvaren Field is primarily known for its tumultuous history. It was the place where Mother Sydiah created Sedrua, ushering a new age of civilization for Via Aylathiya. Sedrua's rule was very much forceful, as Sydiah grew her empire with the help of her creation, Sydiah's Architects. Sydiah would use them to grow out of the Suvaren Field, showing Sedruan dominance by defeating the United Provinces. In the years of Sedruan expansion, the Suvaren Field was regarded as the center of all civilization, as it would house many species. Bakeyatalla also helped, as its initial completion united the Sedruan people in a single object.

The success of Sedrua did not last however. The Wane of Reality caused the Suvaren Field to succumb to Sydiah's Hinterlands, hostile and emergent rifts to the Lux Aeterna. It would take centuries to quell, but collapse was inevitable. Revolution and war ruptured Sedrua's chance of survival, ending with isolationism and stagnation. Sedrua confined itself to the Suvaren Field, becoming silent as it developed plans to return.

When the Suvaren Field was locked under its Exclusion Zone, the Suvaren Field slowly changed. Over time, megastructures were made, life developed, and the citizens of Sedrua became reliant on its authority. Sydiah's Hinterlands was vanquished as well, and the Suvaren Field became calm. Over the many years of Sedruan redevelopment, the Suvaren Field would watch the development of new nations. The rise of the Commonwealth, its civil war, and the events leading up to Aylathiya's Totality did not effect the Suvaren Field much.

A new conflict would change everything however. Sedrua, believing that it was ready to enter the greater Via Aylathiya, broke the Suvaren Exclusion Zone and began to expand. The Commonwealth, fearing Sedrua, attempted to stop them from having any leverage. However, the Suvaren Field's development and Sedrua's newfound vigor prompted war. It would be a long, drawn-out conflict, and one that would cement the Sedrua's dominance. The Suvaren Field only gained notoriety from there, as it became a place of strategic importance. As such, the Commonwealth condemned it and banned any type of immigration to the area.

Information from the Suvaren Field was scarce, though it grew dramatically after the release of the Exclusion Zone. As it stood, the Suvaren Field was heavily defended, full of forces which were hostile to most nations. The progression of time did not ease Sedrua's relations either, as they believed the Commonwealth and its allies were threats. Eventually, the War of the Ancients passed, with Sedrua playing an influential role in its background. Expansion and development of the Suvaren Field only accelerated from there, until the modern day.

Eqeyun[]

Main Article: Eqeyun

Eqeyun

Eqeyun, with its disintegrating galactic form.

Eqeyun (Pronounced Ek-Eyy-Oon) is the smallest major region in Via Aylathiya. It is best characterized by its smooth and calm interstellar environment. Much like Peleunsk and Orithiya, Eqeyun is the product of a galactic merger. It is also the oldest of these mergers, as it has lost much of its structure. Eqeyun is best known for being a dense and rich area in culture, though it is remarkably high in resources. It is controlled entirely by the Communal Republic of Eqeyun (CRE), a corporate member state of the Commonwealth.

Eqeyun was not necessarily the most valuable asset to Sedrua. It, like Peleunsk and the Orithyia, had many useful star systems. Sedrua's main focus with Eqeyun was the production of resources, and it did just that. Many years of conquest advanced Sedrua's territory, until they found the Timporians. After the creation of the Timporian Sector, Sedrua utilized Eqeyun as a bastion for its expansion. With its new position, Sedrua would connect gateways and ensure cohesion.

The events following the Wane of Reality effected Eqeyun as much as any other region. Chaos ensued as Sydiah's Hinterlands tainted the area, leaving the Timporian Sector to deal with the aftermath. Newfound dissent and mistrust in Sedrua prompted the Timporian-Sedruan War, a conflict which created the CRE and the Core Worlds Alliance. Timporians created an established civilization in Eqeyun, using Sedrua's remnant technologies to create a nation of freedom and prosperity.

The CRE has effected Eqeyun with its history. The CRE eventually became the only power in Eqeyun, as the Core Worlds Alliance fell to corruption and mismanagement. The CRE was comparatively rich in resources as well, which placed all Timporians in the CRE with time. This flooded the CRE with many people, which effectively integrated many cultures. Trade was started after diplomacy with the Lowyzol Federation, which started a long-lasting positive relationship.

Eventually, the CRE became a corporate nation like the LZF. The alliance between the two nations faltered in the Commonwealth's Eclipse, though the CRE sympathized with the LZF and did not take much action. Additionally, the CRE held many of the LZF's ideals relating to corporatism, though this would not last after the Eclipse. Ideologies changed with the victory of the Commonwealth, forcing the CRE to reform its government. The CRE would function more like a federation from then on.

Ever since the end of the Eclipse, Eqeyun was known for being a center for new cultures. Initial immigration during its creation, as well as the subsequent wars, would result in the growth of various societies. These societies would become prominent, though they maintained a strong connection to the CRE. The current day sees a diverse population, and Eqeyun has become one of the most developed and diverse regions in the galaxy.

Via Aurum[]

Main Article: Via Aurum

ViaAurum

Via Aurum, in its bright and shiny gold form.

The Via Aurum is the largest nebula in Via Aylathiya. It is a dense region of bright yellow gas, which appears as a golden color. It houses the Thulcandran Federation and the Sovereign Provinces of Aylathia, two highly developed nations. As a product of Sydiah's Hinterlands, Via Aurum was best known for its erratic and hazardous nature. It has since calmed down, becoming sterile of hostile activity. What rests in its place is a realm rich of resources, but barren of native life.

At the center of Via Aurum rests the Eye of the Via Aylathiya, a rift which was caused by the of the Wane of Reality. There also exists the Palioxis Rift, an opening to the Palioxis Starfield. Its yellow color is also a product of The Wane, caused by out-gassings from The Aeterna. As such, the nebula is widely renowned for its unique stellar aberrations. Via Aurum is also rich in resources, much like other inhabited areas of Via Aylathiya. These resources directly benefitted the nations of the nebula, making them highly developed, powerful, and dense. The Thulcandran Federation for example uses Via Aurum to accomplish much of its trade. Its riches has propelled it to become a corporatocracy.

The nebula's history stretched back to the days of Sedrua. Its area was first conquered by Sedrua, though regional conflict with the Alliance reduced its influence. While it had its many dense star systems, Via Aurum was not a nebula yet. Rather, it was but a notable region of space. The Wane of Reality, which occurred at the nebula, ripped open a massive tear to The Aeterna. The area instantly became hazardous, flooding with gas and various rifts. While these hazards decayed over time, it pushed Sedrua away from the newfound nebula. Eventually, the now gold nebula became sterile.

Nothing of note would occur until the United Federation of Star Systems (UFSS) made its way to Via Aylathiya. Seeking conquest and colonialism, it used an Intergalactic Gateway to make its way over. While first colonies were more than successful, allegiance to the UFSS became incohesive after some decades. In time, ideological shifts would happen, which culminated in a revolution. The Thulcandran Federation was born, sectioning itself off in Via Aylathiya. Soon after, the Commonwealth's Eclipse would happen, though it would not effect the Thulcandran Federaion.

However, another group in the HRC would be more than effected. The Eclipse would make them believe that their government was weak and unruly. They would also split off, though in a series of colony ships, to Via Aurum. They created the Sovereign Provinces of Aylathia (S.P.A.), a socialist nation which would rely on Via Aurum for its resources. The S.P.A. would become one of the most influential nations in the nebula, though its influence would eventually wane in comparison to the Thulcandran Federation.

Aylathiya's Totality passed with minimal turmoil. Both the Thulcandran Federation and the S.P.A. prospered, using the Eye of the Via Aylathiya for great energy. While they had divergent ideologies, they embarked in mass trade, opening up to the greater Via Aylathiya then after. The War of the Ancients, while posing as a dangerous threat, never made its way to the shores of Via Aurum. It did, however, sufficiently advance Thulcandran technology. This resulted in the creation of the Palioxis Rift, which was made stable in the year 98,459 CE. This has made both the Thulcandran Federation and the S.P.A. more powerful, as they now have access to two alternate planes.

Nisrine Cloud[]

Main Article: Nisrine Cloud

Nisrine Cloud1

The Nisrine Cloud is a relatively small region, formerly being a dwarf galaxy around the Via Aylathiya. It is best characterized by its disintegrating elliptical form, which is mostly composed of a bright white gas and contrasting dust. The cloud has a flattened appearance, due to the gravity of the Via Aylathiya. The Nisrine Cloud has a fairly average density, though it is rich in minerals. However, this has not prevented the rise of civilizations. The Uspayador Plutocracy of Etheaunsk (UPE), the Samutan Galactic Faction (SGF), and the Nisrine Collective have all called this place home. The most notable site in the Nisrine Cloud is a structure aptly named Nisrine. It is the center of the Nisrine Collective, being a massive supercomputer that is named after a world of the same name.

The history of the Nisrine Cloud is hectic, as there were long eras of warfare and mayhem. The first pieces of modern Nisrine history came from the UPE, which arrived during the Commonwealth's Eclipse. As remnants from old LZF government, the UPE was ruled by a strict plutocratic government. While it would loosen up over many years, the War of the Ancients would cripple the nation. The war, which lasted for centuries, left the UPE with a fractured and unstable society. Revolutionaries would take advantage of the chaos, controling the UPE's government and creating the Samutan Galactic Faction.

The SGF, thought to be a nation with lessened corruption, was controlled by a shadow council. Behind a mask of a republic was a tyrannical group of oligarchs. They ruled the country fiercely, beginning the Samutan Reformation and silencing opposition to the government. The SGF was also ruthless in its expansion, annexing many systems while rapidly rebuilding infrastructure. In time, the SGF would grow in power, though its expansion would lead to its downfall. Upon the turn of 90,637 CE, the SGF discovered Nisrine. It was the native world of the Nisranians and an emergent superintelligence called "Nisrine Mind".

Local SGF military, already set with removing the Nisranians, was tasked to capture and destroy Nisrine Mind as well. The SGF and its predecessors had a strong disdain towards sapient AI, and hoped to rid the galaxy of them. As the Nisranians were eliminated, Nisrine Mind was captured and set for de-activation. However, Nisrine Mind persevered through various failsafes, managing to break out by controlling technology. It began to rebuild itself, setting off a chain of events which would cause the downfall of the SGF.

Upon the release of Nisrine Mind, the Samutan military would open fire against itself. Additionally, there was a mass leak of government secrets, which revealed the true nature of the Samutan oligarchy. A Nisrine War began, spreading throughout the Nisrine Cloud. It would last for but a few months, leaving the SGF in shambles. The Nisrine Collective was born out of this war, though the people did not trust a superintelligence as a leader. It would not be for many more years did the Collective gain a trustworthy reception.

Sydiah's Hinterlands[]

Main Article: Sydiah's Hinterlands

Sydiah'sHinterlands

Sydiah's Hinterlands is a small and hazardous area in Via Aylathiya. While it is present in many locations, it size is not nearly as large as it formerly was. The Hinterlands are characterized by its varying hostile forms, usually rifts to the Lux Aeterna. Typically, zones of Sydiah's Hinterlands are surrounded by military vessels or stations. Their danger has also disallowed most populated centers from being constructed nearby. This has led to a significant reduction of the population, making the Hinterlands one of the least inhabited regions of the galaxy.

The region is a product of the Wane of Reality, a devastating event which was caused by Mother Sydiah. In an attempt to mass create Sydiah's Architects and strengthen Sedruan influence, she attempted to use her Thaumaturgic abilities. It backfired severely, instead opening many portals to The Aeterna. While the majority of these portals were sealed, it took thousands of years before they closed. Energy from The Aeterna flooded the Hinterlands, creating unstable conditions. Most were untraversable, and the ones that were became dangerous.

The most notable site in the Hinterlands is the Eye of the Via Aylathiya, which was the Hinterlands' most violent area. Matter was expelled in such a way that it created a bright nebula, Via Aurum. Many other sites contributed to the fall of Sedrua, notably ones at the Suvaren Field and populated areas. This left Sedrua's fledging Sectors alone to remove their own rifts, causing massive damage to them. As Sedrua collapsed, The Hinterlands diminished in strength until it became what it is today.

Unique Objects or Phenomena[]

Lux Aeterna[]

Aeterna Cascades[]

Aeterna Cascades are exceptionally powerful and rare events, only found to record in the Via Aylathiya across all of history. They can spontaneously appear after a notably powerful Aeternaborne exits the Lux Aeterna. This cascade can eminate a large amount of detectable energy, though only Magi can detect the brunt of it. The rest is given off as a stray wave of neutrinos and assorted electromagnetic radiation. After an Aeterna Cascade, the resulting Aeternaborne might decay, though the strongest of Aeternabornes can adapt to reality.

Aeternaborne[]

Aeternaborne

The Aeternaborne are a group of magical entities who are born out of Aeterna Cascades. While most Aeternaborne expire soon after exposure to reality, powerful ones are able to conform with ease. Aeternaborne are made up of Cores, usually characterized by a shining white appearance, like that of a Core in the Aeterna. Upon entering reality, Aeternaborne possess great potential in Thaumaturgy. This is thought to be a result of their link with the Lux Aeterna.

Aeterna Crystals[]

Aeterna Crystal

Aeterna Crystals are rare, almost undetectable crystalline structures which hold great power. They are known to be containers of modified Aeternal Energy, created by the First Aeternal Society hundreds of millions of years ago. It is thought that their purpose was for bestowing or enhancing Thaumaturgy for any individual, allowing them to gain immense strength in a very short period of time. These crystals take on the appearance of bright, cosmic-looking gemstones which are warm to the touch and emit a dim, white glow.

Aeterna Crystals operate after one shatters it, releasing the trapped Aeternal Energy to the closest Pylon, typically that of the user's. It is thought that there are less than 100 full Aeterna Crystals left in Via Aylathiya. The first to re-discover the Aeterna Crystals was Vurilia Jiutopati during Aylathiya's Totality. He learned of their immense potential, eventually using one to overcome Thonde and re-enstate his leadership over Sedrua. Vurilia once vowed to keep the Crystals safe against Sydiah, spending much of his time collecting and storing them away.

Civilizations[]

Deep in the confines of Via Aylathiya, there exist a multitude of civilizations, which have sprung up from and in the absence of Sedrua. In the many millennia since unified galactic control, these factions have spread and made their home all across the galaxy. Deep culture, which resides from nations of ages past, still affects the ones today, which allow civilizations to share a commonality. As of the modern-day, the intragalactic landscape is relatively peaceful, with civilizations still being created and administered. The Commonwealth of United Economic Nations reigns as the most dominant power in Via Aylathiya, containing ancient superpowers and undivided influence.

Via Aylathiya Index []

Aylathiya's nations are classified on a development index, which places them from a score of 0.000 to 1.000. Nations are placed by proficiency in several fields, including economic growth, technological advancement, quality of living standards, and military prowess. The Via Aylathiya Index is entirely relative, with scores being based around how well nations are in comparison to each other. As such, a nation that is low on the Via Aylathiya Index may not necessarily have poor living conditions.

Native Species[]

Via Aylathiya is home to a large amount of people, existing as one of the most populated galaxies in the Local Universe. In total, Via Aylathiya has approximately 225.47 quintillion inhabitants. There are 13 native species to Via Aylathiya, though it is thought that there would be more. Assimilation and eventual genocide by the United Provinces exterminated many lowly species. Destruction by galactic events or wars brought havoc to several other sapient species as well.
