"I expected nothing but eternal darkness for an infinite distance when I first entered the interdimensional rift that manifested in front of me. What I never imagined to observe was a vibrant universe brimming with oddities and life in every twist and turn. To my luck, this is the paradise that the Palioxis Starfield turned out to be." - Elrysia Brezmir, the first Human to venture within the Palioxis Starfield.
Overview
The Palioxis Starfield, also known as the Palioxis Collective or Laniakea, is a Structural Realm birthed by the Cosmic Primordia. The Starfield is best described as a collective of millions of practically identical planes in a traversable medium called Khaos. These alternate planes, called Fields, contain a a hundred thousand stars at average, reaching many hundreds of light-years in diameter. Travel between these planes is achieved in the Khaos by any spacecraft achieving speeds that are twice more than the speed of light, thus breaking the barrier than separates these planes. When one is in Khaos, one will observe numerous 'orbs', which are different Fields observed externally.
According to some theories, there are multiple larger Structural Realms similar to the Starfield, with the Palioxis Starfield being the lowest level of this concept. These planes are thought to continue indefinitely. Khaos would technically be the void between the larger Starfields, just as the current void between Fields is. According to various numerous different advanced theories, the Starfield could one of an infinite number of parallel Starfields coexisting on the same Structural Realm. This asserts that there is a conceivable parallel version of the Starfield for every possibility. Unfortunately, there are no known ways to completely prove these theories.
Entering the Palioxis Starfield has long been a feat that has been thought impossible for many living in the Local Cosmos. Fortunately for them, an interdimensional rift appears as a result of complex subatomic alternation of Miriandynic Energy. All matter and energy that enters the rift is instantly manifested to the Palioxis Starfield, more specifically into a thousand light-year wide Field called the Gathering Field. Humanity has been seizing control of any part of space near The Gathering since their first colonization efforts in the Palioxis Starfield nearly five thousand years ago. As a result, they possess complete authority over the Gathering Field, which acts as the Anthrovian Cosmos' nucleus.
While many phenomena are identical to those seen in the Local Cosmos, the Palioxis Starfield contains an inexhaustible amount of unique ones. Viir and Quaal stars are among the most common, with the former being emerald-colored and the latter being violet-colored stars. As these planes are around five billion years old, the Palioxis Starfield contains numerous phenomena which the Local Cosmos used to possess in its earlier days. These include Quasi Stars, extremely massive and luminous types of stars. Unlike other stars, which are powered by nuclear fusion in their cores, a Quasi Star's energy would be supplied by material falling into a black hole at its core.
Many things which are considered purely impossible in the Local Cosmos, can be a common occurrences within the Palioxis Starfield. Extremely close-orbiting clusters of worlds are an example of this. Their orbits would instantly destabilize in the Local Cosmos and they would crash into each-other there, though this is not the result in the Palioxis Starfield. Instead, they harmoniously orbit their parent stars with no interferences. Another peculiarity is temperatures that are hundreds of degrees below what is considered the absolute zero in Local Cosmos. This is possible through complex quantum-scale interactions between Miriandynic Energy and ordinary matter and energy. As a result, the lowest temperature in the Palioxis Starfield is -542.517 °C.

Primordia's Inheritance
Khaos
Khaos, also known as the Inescapable Void is a collective medium beyond the Local Cosmos, in which the Starfield resides within. Khaos is the embodiment of desolation, the chasm that separates the Fields and has entrapped countless empires. Khaos, in truth, is barren of any natural matter. Though these are only pure non-physical renderings of them, the Fields seen could indicate the opposite. Khaos itself is lacking of any natural laws or even concepts. Khaos' vulnerability to any matter is instead only sustained by the Fields' energies flowing into Khaos. The integrity of Khaos begins to deteriorate far from the Starfield, ending in a chaotic void lacking any natural laws or concepts.
While the general population assumes Khaos is completely void of all activity, certain researchers believe there could be other pockets of activity in the area. Despite this, no such areas have ever been identified in modern times. As distances can't be measured by traditional means far within Khaos, the farthest any man-made object has ever traveled is believed to be five billion light-years, though it was shattered when its atomic structure began to break apart, vanishing into absolute oblivion. The Starfield can no longer be observed as matter reaches the five billion light-year mark. Natural rules, concepts, and reality begin to break down beyond that distance.
Fields
Fields are tiny alternate planes that usually reach hundreds of light-years in width and contain tens of thousands or stars, or likely more. Travel between these planes is accomplished in the Khaos by any spacecraft moving at twice the velocity of light outside of its Field, thus bypassing the boundary that divides these planes. When in Khaos, one will see a plethora of 'orbs,' which are distinct Fields observed externally. Fields are arranged into Field Associations, which house approximately ten thousand Fields. Sometimes there exist Field Clusters, areas as large as Field Associations but house around ten times the Fields.
Extremely large types of Fields known as Mega-Fields reside in the Starfield as well, consisting of around 0.005% of the documented Fields. These can reach up to twenty thousand light-years in size and contain very large Cosmic Regions. Mega-Fields are
Fields can be classified using a simple system based on their level of connectivity to the Primordial Singularity. This classification is performed on a range of zero to a hundred, with a hundred being the most connected and zero being the least connected. A Field with a connectivity level of a hundred is the most stable, housing nearly no abnormalities. When the classification goes below a hundred, certain aberrations and anomalies tend to manifest. If the level of a Field is below twenty, common concepts such as distance and time seem to break down entirely, as seen in Khaos. Fortunately though, most Fields' level is eighty to a hundred, with only a select few reaching below twenty.
Fields tend to move at considerable speeds in the Starfield, going as fast as a light-year in second. Nevertheless, average speed for Fields moving is that of around a few thousand times the speed of light. As a result of their constant, ongoing movement, Fields sometimes collide with each other. Collisions between Fields are exceedingly rare in ordinary areas, though in extremely densely populated Field Associations, these can be common occurrences. When two Fields touch each other, they instantly start a violent merging process that lasts millions of years. This involves sterilizing the colliding Fields, as the collision releases an absurd amount of radiation.

Palioxis Rift
Main article: Palioxis Rift
The Palioxis Rift is a vast interdimensional rift forged by the Thulcandran Federation of Aylothn. It is a multi-light-year wide opening to the Palioxis Starfield, one of the more prized locations the Thulcandran Federation has unearthed. The Palioxis Rift is one of the more valuable assets of the Thulcandran Federation, acting as the last option for the preservation of the Federation, should it ever need to escape to the Starfield. The Thulcandran Federation oftentimes regards moving into the Starfield as reckless behavior, as it is one of the more dangerous locations in the Universe. Nevertheless, it hasn't been banned by the government, though commercial users such as corporations have to pay taxes.
Around a hundred years after the Palioxis Rift was opened, one of the Skyven Manipulators suddenly stopped working due to there not being enough energy directed to it. This was caused by the failure of a singular dyson sphere around a G-class star. The Thulcandran colonies were lost in the Starfield, leaving the Thulcandran Federation afraid of ever opening a rift to the Starfield once again. Nevertheless, after countless years of continuous growth and development in the Federation, in 98,459 CE, the rift was reopened.
The Palioxis Rift was generated by the earliest of Skyven Manipluators in the 95,000s. The Skyven Manipulators are megastructures that can manipulate small streams of Mirandyinc Energy which leak into the Universe through tiny subatomic rifts which last no longer than a millisecond. At first, Skyven Manipulators were incredibly energy demanding and bulky structures. The power that a red dwarf can emit in a million years would be necessitated to generate a rift to the Starfield. As a consequence, new sources of power were created, and local ones were directed to power the Skyven Manipulators. Ever since the re-opening of the Palioxis Rift, numerous modifications and upgrades have been complemented to the Skyven Maniupulators.
Primordial Singularity
Main article: Primordial Singularity
The Primordial Singularity, also known as the Creator, is a highly anomalous entity of Miriandynic Energy that rests in the heart of the Palioxis Starfield, powering and sustaining it. In it's default inert state, the Primordial Singularity takes the appearance of a perfect sphere coated by an unusually thick layer of Phantom Matter. This coating casts the Primordial Singularity with the appearance of the cosmos and nebulae nearby, while uncommonly reflecting some of the farthest Fields of the Starfield. While the inert state is the most prevalent, the Primordial Singularity has three additional distinct states, some of which are highly hazardous to any matter and others of which are truly breathtaking. Everything within the Palioxis Starfield is gravitationally tethered to the Primordial Singularity, similarly to a conventional supermassive black hole at the heart of a galaxy. All Fields orbit this entity of unimaginable power like stars orbit the center of a galaxy, and as a result, the Primordial Singularity unites the entire Starfield, serving as it's beating heart. Should the Primordial Singularity cease to exist, the Starfield's Fields might simultaneously drift apart, erasing the ability to traverse between them and trapping numerous civilizations.
No being actually knows the true nature of the Primordial Singularity. There is a chance it may be an organic being, an artificial intelligence, the very concept of existence and space-time itself, or something even far stranger. Most commonly the Primordial Singularity is interpreted as the physical manifestation of Primordia's Inheritance. The age of the Primordial Singularity is around four billion years, not much older than an average star. Neverthless, some theories state that the Primordial Singularity is the Oculus reborn billions of years after it's destruction. What is known, however, is that the Primordial Singularity possesses knowledge that even the most massive supercomputers can not comprehend. When questioned as to how did the universe form, it responded it "it has always existed, just in a state your minds can not grasp". Many similarly incomprehensible answers have been given the by Primordial Singularity for most questions. When asked what is the very meaning of life, it gave a clear and direct answer; "no matter has any fundamental meaning". Most of these claims are unable to be proven, however.
Many technologically advanced species like the Vanheir have worshipped the Primordial Singularity in the past, believing it to be the sole reason for their existence, or for the existence of anything whatsoever. These species have single-handedly started a religion named Primordia's Ascendancy, which has spread throughout the entire Starfield. As of this millennium, Primordia's Ascendancy has over two septillion followers from over a hundred sapient species, making it the most widely practiced religion. As a result of this faith, a large number of worlds have been turned into Faith Worlds, planets where religion is extensively practiced.
Stellar Phenomena
Quaal Stars are a ludicrously rare type of purple-colored stars, native to the Palioxis Starfield. A Quaal Star's purplish tint is derived from the presence of Kadentan deep within its core, which allows the star to go beyond usual stellar coloration. Kadentan is a very hyperactive element, and as such, the conditions which Quaal Stars can produce are considered some of the most extreme in all of the Palioxis Starfield. Quaal Stars are very scarce, accounting for only a hundredth of a percent of the Palioxis Starfield's stellar population. Only a few thousand Quaal Stars have been documented as a result of this.
In terms of planets, a Quaal Star with even a single planet is considered a noteworthy discovery. Planets can only persist on the outskirts of a star system, thousands of astronomical units away from the central star, as most worlds that come close to a Quaal Star are practically disintegrated. All worlds encircling a Quaal Star exhibit temperatures of above a hundred degrees, as the region where the heat could be considered temperate would be outside of the star's gravitational pull. In comparison to the conventional stars, Quaal Stars lack protoplanetary disks in their early phases of growth, and if they would have one, it would evaporated by the sheer heat of the star. Only captured rogue planets could orbit Quaal Stars as a consequence. |
Since Quaal Stars release thousands of times more energy in a second than a conventional star could in its lifetime, many ways of collecting this energy output have been proposed by the scientific community. Most of them share a common result, the Quaal Star's heat would be too great, and would burn any dyson sphere or similar encompassing it. Generating power from a plausible distance would require a ludicrous amount of material.
|
Quaal Stars emerge inside a special type of molecular clouds: vast, extremely cold dark clouds made up of molecular hydrogen, helium, and Kadentan. Over hundreds of millions of years, gravity causes the clouds to dissolve. When the core component condenses into a large sphere and gets warmer, the Proto-Quaal Star is produced. This Proto-Quaal Star is usually azure in coloration. Half a million years after the star's formation, it becomes a Half-Quaal Star. As its name indicates, it only has half the size and temperature of an average Quaal Stars. The Quaal Star accumulates all of the surrounding Kadentan at this time, granting it its purplish tint. Nuclear fusion begins in the nucleus of the star around a million years after its birth. Finally, the star shrinks to its anticipated size and temperature, and the solar wind commences. The solar wind is usually more intense the larger and hotter the star.

Co-Planes
Co-planes are alternate planes of existence that are considered a part of the Palioxis Starfield, coexisting with it. The Palioxis Starfield contains a thousand fifty-four entirely unique alternate planes, most of which are infinite abyssal voids, remnants of Creation. Only a select few are filled with any sort of activity.
Ascension Plane
Main article: Ascension Plane
The Ascension Plane is an enigmatic plane of existence, which co-exists with the Palioxis Starfield. Most of it is composed of an endless sea of azure mist suspended in an eternal void. The nature of this mist is unclear at this time. Regardless, various theories have been offered about its nature and genesis. According to one interpretation, the mist is Halycon that has leaked into the Ascension Plane in the distant past. The blue mist has proven to have some of the key properties of Halycon, though has been altered when traversing through the interdimensional void to the Ascension Plane. As of now, this is the most reasonable explanation, albeit it, like the others, has yet to be verified. Diverse cosmic behemoths lurk in this blue mist, certain of which are benevolent, while others have only one goal: to ruthlessly murder invaders. The Ascension Plane is similar to an ocean in that the deeper one goes, the more twisted and horrifying the creatures become.
The Ascension Plane is one of the more important existential planes to the Starfield's community and civilization, in the sense that it is used to power the most advanced method of faster-than-light travel ever discovered. Since the Ascension Plane and the Starfield coexist, the coordinates of the two planes are equal. When combined with the fact that Ascension Plane is far smaller than the Starfield, it enables for extraordinarily rapid superluminal transit if any ship ventures there. The Quantum Shift Drive, the most technologically advanced method of superluminal travel, has achieved this milestone. The Class of the Quantum Shift Drive has a significant impact on the speed with which ships travel in the Ascension Plane. What's essential is how deep the spaceship travels in the Ascension Plane, because the deeper one travels, the faster one travels. Altogether, ships can travel at rates of up to fifteen light-years per second.

Political Astrography
The Palioxis Starfield is composed of many different areas that have been separated into culturally and politically agreed upon regions. A system of directions is also in place, with coreward, voidward, spinward, and antispinward being the most prevalent. A set of more cardinal directions, which have been created cartography, have also been established with the standard north, south, east, and west directions. These aren't commonly used for navigation in the Palioxis Starfield, and they have a special place in mapping systems.

Cosmic Regions
Across the Palioxis Starfield, there are a plethora of vast interstellar regions known as Cosmic Regions. The Palioxis Starfield's Cosmic Regions are the most conspicuous and recognizable elements, as they contain several diverse features. Each region has its own distinct qualities, and it is the combination of these distinctions that contributes to the Palioxis Starfield's grandeur. These regions, formed by the interactions of cosmic objects in the largest of Fields, have come to define the Starfield's overall landscape.
Zephyr's Spiral
Main article: Zephyr's Spiral
The Zephyr's Spiral is statistically the largest Cosmic Region of the Palioxis Starfield. It takes the appearance of a vast purplish spiraling collective of stars, gas and dust all circling around a central gravitational attractor. This nature of this gravitational attractor is vastly unknown, as direct observation does not give any specific answers. It is not a black hole, and may much more likely be a large clump of dark matter which binds the Zephyr's Spiral together. All matter which ventures too close into the domains of this gravitational attractor explodes in a majestic manner.
This vast spiraling region has been measured to be roughly twenty thousand light-years in diameter, containing billions of stars and even more worlds. Uniquely in contrast to the rest of the Stafield, most worlds in the the Zephyr's Spiral contain much more lively ecosystems. The prime reason for this is that the Zephyr's Spiral has been observed to have some of the best conditions for complex life to arise. The Zephyr's Spiral is free from any supernovae, filled with G-class stars, perfect for the birth of new life. Strangely, no sapient species have risen up in Zephyr's Spiral.
Zephyr's Spiral takes up a significant piece of Palioxis Starfield's greater history, as it formed right next to the Primordia's Realm region. As Primordia's Realm is the most inhabited political region of the Palioxis Starfield, Zephyr's Spiral has been an unpriced strategic point for many nations. Many large-scale wars have been fought over it, the latest of which being the Second Singularian War, in which the Anixdes' Throne attempted to take over Zephyr's Spiral from within its core.
As of today, Zephyr's Spiral is free from any wars and battles, dominated by over four unique nations. Its potency in resource-rich worlds has resulted in innumerable ecumenopolises being constructed all around and inside this Cosmic Region. These worlds possess tens or hundreds of layers of planet-wide cities, populated by quadrillions of citizens per planet or moon. As a consequence, Zephyr's Spiral has been known as one of the cores of population in the Palioxis Starfield. In total, Zephyr's Spiral has a population that is far over a hundred septillion.
Orion
Main article: Orion
Orion is without a doubt the most influential Cosmic Region in Perileos of Palioxis Starfield, housed in the Aknos Field Association's Orion Mega-Field. Orion is a vast interstellar structure of a billion stars, coupled with the gas that gives it its azure composition, all orbiting a supermassive black hole. Orion stretches approximately thirteen thousand light-years in diameter, dwarfing many other similar Cosmic Regions. Orion, albeit abundant in all forms of life, is strangely barren of native sapient species. This is noted as a positive circumstance since Orion would then be free of any native competitors. Ever since its first inhabitation by Singularia, Orion has been the Primordia's Realm's prime industrial sector. As many as a million industrial worlds lie deep within the azure skies of Orion, over seventy percent of which have been bought by various Palioxis corporations. Except for the essential operators who must be present at all times, these industrial worlds are sparsely populated. Most of these immense worlds are encased in layers upon layers of factories and manufacturing complexes.
The political landscape of Orion has been noted to be rather calm compared to other Cosmic Regions of this importance. Noted for its abundance in resource-rich worlds, fabrication of more industrial worlds is a fairly simple and straightforward process. No contests and battles for conquering the entirety of Orion have emerged as of yet. Orion is ruled by over five unique nations that use it as the center for their industry and production. Nevertheless, a few small wars near the borders of these nations are constantly taking place, though these have never expanded to the greater scale.
The largest of the corporation operating in Orion is Orion Industries. Orion Industries is an immensely large megacorporation, owning several smaller companies such as Orion Shipbuilding. Orion Industries possesses authority in over ten thousand industrial worlds, many of which are coated in tens of layers of factories. The largest of these worlds, Indar, is also the crowned and famed capital of Orion Industries.
Eupherion Cloud
Main article: Eupherion Cloud
Eupherion Cloud is the second largest emission nebula in the Palioxis Starfield, covering an area of roughly five thousand light-years in diameter, and thus is classified as a Cosmic Region. The entirety of the nebula houses Eupherion's Heavenly Ascendancy, an extensive theocratic Type-2 civilization. Only a few worlds are home to complex life in Eupherion Cloud, as most worlds are barren yet resource-rich wastelands. As a consequence, many nations have fought over superiority within the Eupherion Cloud, though it was entirely forgotten millennia before the Eupherion's Heavenly Ascendancy was founded.
Eupherion Cloud is positioned in a relatively sterile area of space known as the Akrodan's Junction, and the Eupherion Cloud is similarly lifeless and barren. Not many civilizations have sprung up in that region, and as a result, the Euphrion's Heavenly Ascendancy had an easy time colonizing this Cosmic Region. Eupherion Cloud was one of the few locations that was not seen by Siphad, an alien artificial intelligence who overpowered most of the Starfield many hundreds of millions of years before the current civilizations sprung up. As a result, continuous attacks from the native Tennen eventually overpowered Siphad, ending the rule of the tyrannical artificial intelligence.
Ever since Eupherion's Heavenly Ascendancy's expansion beyond the confines of this nebula, it has served as the core of their civilization. Many dyson spheres, most notably those around Viir Stars, power critical portions of their nation. It is just a matter of time until Eupherion's Heavenly Ascendancy contacts the neighboring stellar nations and declares war on them, owing to their expansive and violent nature. When this occurs, Eupherion Cloud may be entirely taken over by another civilization, operating as a faraway colonial region of it.
History
Primordial Era (13,800,000,000 - 5,000,000,000 BCE)
Age of the Rifters
The Rifters were born in a period of oblivion, an epoch that was supposed to remain eternal. The Rifters were a race of virtually omnipotent cosmic entities who relied on magical energies to power and sustain themselves. The Rifters were nothing more than thoughtless, powerless beings who couldn't comprehend anything in their early phases of growth. The Rifters evolved into increasingly aware entities over millions of years, eventually reaching a level of sapience that allowed them to converse. The Rifters used unusual glpyhs to converse at first, each of which meant a different word. This language was difficult to pick up at first, but as the Rifters' collective consciousness developed to its full capacity, everyone began to converse in it.
In a relatively short length of time, the Rifters learnt how to manipulate the Quintessence (the fabric of reality at the time). They could be able to create primordial forms of nature's core forces at first. The Rifters finally figured out how to create miniscule particles of matter after a long time, something no other entity could ever desire to attain. Shortly thereafter, the Rifters realized the Quintessence's vulnerability, and concluded that generating tremendous amounts of matter would destabilize it, bringing their existence to an unsatisfactory conclusion.
To further engage with the matter they created, the Rifters fashioned vessels into which they could incorporate their energies. Although such bodies were customized to each Rifter's preferences, they were usually depicted to use a common 'humanoid' design, which was considered to be the most efficient and nimble at the time. They devised a plethora of unique devices in an attempt to stabilize the Quintessence with their improved capabilities. Thousands of tries went into creating the Arzia Storthan. The Quintessence was preserved by this spherical machine, which collected and 'purified' it within through complex subatomic interactions that science has yet to understand. The Quintessence could only be stabilized in a two-million-kilometer radius, which was the Arzia Storthan's single defect.
Nerix Kreelasia was quickly forged, a gigantic island poised in motion within the freshly adjusted Quintessence. Nerix Kreelasia began as a large mass of material, but the Rifters rapidly sculpted it into what they intended. The first settlements were established, which matched even today's biggest metropolitan areas. There were thousands upon millions of Rifters in these societies, the exact number of which is unknown. Initially, they formed complex but primitive microscopic organisms that quickly reproduced and were preceded by some of the most rudimentary of organisms. These species would be drastically altered by the Rifters. As a result, several of these species defied rationality and physical rules in flagrant ways.
Millennia after the birth of Nerix Kreelasia, the Rifters uncovered Abysmia, an alternate existential plane coexisting with the Starfield. Abysmia would be dominated by Void Energy, one of the few known forces that can damage the Rifters. While Void Energy is prevalent in the Starfield, it does not degrade or affect the Rifters in the same manner that it does in Abysmia. The Rifters traditionally prohibited access to it, however it was periodically visited through illusions caused by Void Energy spilling into the Starfield through subatomic breaches. A crew of five Rifters designated as the Primia were deployed on a journey to examine Abysmia for possible riches and deeper scientific knowledge after establishing how to utilize Quintessence in order to properly enter Abysmia.
The Rifters hadn't been spotted in years, and they were presumed dead, the first of the Rifters to disappear in this manner. The Rifters reappeared centuries later, but they had changed dramatically. They appeared to have been influenced by Abysmia's pervasive sense of gloom. The information regarding Abysmia that was released was devastating. The Rifters were corrupted as a result of Void Energy's torturous influence on them when they were psychotic. Time would run thousands of times slower in Abysmia, making a thousand years feel like a million. During that time, the Rifters' sensory input ceased, as if they had been fused with the deep oblivion that encompassed Abysmia.
Great Primordia's War
Mirax Era (5,000,000,000 - 2,000,000,000 BCE)
The Photonic Boom
The Starfield was deemed to be forever silent after the violent death of the Oculus directly following the Great Primordia's War, as even the Quintessence was mostly disrupted. Comparatively tiny accumulations of the Quintessence managed to remain, measuring no more than two thousand light-years in length, though most were closer to three hundred. The tiniest spark of light was all that was considered necessary to populate the Starfield with a near-infinite quantity of matter and energy and stabilize the accumulations of the Quintessence. Several billion years later, an unintentional spark of energy reached the Starfield. What followed was an incredibly huge energetic burst known as the Photonic Boom, in which the energy started replicating and forging matter. The accumulations of the the Quintessence were fully stabilized soon afterward, leading to the formation of separate alternate planes known as Fields. Starting from extraordinarily high density and temperature, space extended, the plane cooled, and the fundamental elements formed.
Gravity gradually drew matter together to form the first stars. These stars were identifiable by their unique composition: just hydrogen, helium and lithium, the only elements that formed immediately after the Photonic Boom. Gradually, the first stars expanded in grandeur supernovae, forging many heavier elements. The creation of these elements would allow newer, more advanced stars to form. These newer and more metallic stars would soon dominate the Universe, after the first wave of stars ushered upon the plane.
Over time, the first planets began to form in the protoplanetary disks of some of the new metallic stars. Some planets were too minor and became satellites orbiting larger, more massive planets, while others were driven out of their systems altogether by the most massive of planets. Many stars erupted in spectacular supernovae, resulting in the vivid nebulae that still scatter the Palioxis Starfield's celestial horizons. New stars would arise as a result of these nebulae, and the process would cycle indefinitely.
Soon afterward, gravity and dark matter began to clump these stars into vast cosmic structures known today as Cosmic Regions. These structures are substantially smaller than in the Local Cosmos, and not all stars have been clustered into them. This left the bulk of Palioxis' stars still contained in typical Fields. Many of these structures collided into each other and merged, resulting in far larger ones. Ever since the dawn of time, these cosmic structures have been the cores of many civilizations.
Birth of the Primordial Singularity
Aergol Era (2,000,000,000 - 1,000,000,000 BCE)
First Appearance of Life
Life, being a constant in the Cosmos, and having abilities of extreme adaptation to survive on nearly every environment scattered about the Universe, started evolving from simple organic compounds all across the many planets and moons. The very first life in Palioxis Starfield, and the entire Universe itself was purely microbial, being tremendously small in size. Most of these lifeforms would be genetically able to replicate themselves into two individuals. Each time when replicated, the individual would have tiny changes, which caused evolution to begin all across the entire Universe. Smaller lifeforms would evolve into bigger ones, which each time when reproduced started getting more complex.
This life would evolve into more and more intelligent organisms, until the mostly dead at the time Palioxis Starfield saw the rise of it's first sapient species. Dubbed the Antecedents, this species was born before any other, during a chaotic era when Palioxis Starfield was littered with supernovae, high-radiation environments and space debris crashing on many worlds. So little is known about the Antecedent species, that it is very likmely impossible to determine the world the species was native to, their culture, technology, appearance and much more. Only the most basic of knowledge has been unlocked, as nearly no knowledge from that era has survived for such a long time. The Antecendents likely controlled around a quarter of the Starfield in their prime, though their demise is unknown.
Blessing of Halycon
Nearly two billion years ago, the Palioxis Starfield was nothing more than an empty wasteland, scattered with rare life across its systems. Sapience was even rarer, though it existed in many forms. In a short span of time, which was likely a thousand years, an exceedingly anomalous even struck the Palioxis Starfield. This anomaly is the result of extensive expansion into an unknown alternative plane by the an unspecified species, which were very likely the Antecedents.
This fascinating anomaly was likely a large interdimensional rift that released a large amount of Halycon into the Palioxis Starfield. Halycon was an unique element native to the aforementioned unknown plane, and has some of the most unique effects known to scientists. To begin with, the infusion of Halycon with any matter from the Palioxis Starfield would generate various unique elements. Clantine, which is in some ways identical to carbon and would be ubiquitous but not as abundant as carbon, is an example of this. Clantine would never make up the composition of a celestial body, but it would make any life incredibly resistant to it's native environment, creating many lifeforms that are perfectly able to withstand their native environments, thriving and flourishing in them. Clantine would also speed up the evolutionary process significantly.
Nearly anywhere where Clantine happened to be concentrated in, life began. Originally, all of these organisms were simple single-celled organisms. In most cases, these single-celled organisms advanced into far more complex lifeforms, giving birth to ecosystems such as seen on Krania. In another billion of years, around sixty five percent of all planets, moons and other such celestial objects in Palioxis Starfield had completely unique and complex ecosystems, thriving and flourishing in nearly every environment on their homeworld.

Siphad's Rule
Origin
In a time where sapience hasn't fully reached across the Starfield after Primordia's Awakening, an alien artificial intelligence was forged, named Siphad. The directive of it was to rule the nation which crafted it, though it soon accumulated full-level sapience and overthrew its initial creators by turning its robots against them. Siphad, having control over the entire nation, most of its planets, and its robotic inhabitants, saw the Palioxis Starfield as an endless playground. Soon afterward, Siphad started to expand itself, exponentially growing smarter and larger in size. Star systems were conquered by this nation, one after another, and worlds were turned into industrial production centers. Over the course of around a hundred-thousand years, most stars were under the rule of Siphad.
Siphad, as intelligent as it had grown to become, saw the existence of sapient lifeforms as a threat to itself. As such, it periodically surveyed each world with life every thousand years, eliminating all species that were sapient. Its sensors, however, were malfunctioning as a result of a glitch in its programming left by their creators on accident. As powerful as it was, it could not access its root code. As a consequence, Siphad saw numerous locations as voids that can't be physically traveled to. One of these regions was the Eupherion Cloud, an ancient and vast emission nebula, which formed many millions of years ago.
Rise of Tennen
In 240,000 BCE years later in the Eupherion Cloud, a sapient species named Tennen rose from the ashes of destruction of a giant supernova. This species, long after their extinction, is still considered to be most positively influential species in the entire plane. From their lush home planet, they quickly rose to interplanetary stage. In a thousand years, their home system went from completely barren to completely colonized. The Tennen then on discovered a method of FTL travel similar to Quantum Shift Drives of today, though it involved launching a spacecraft into lightspeed from their home planet using complex railguns.
In the short timescale of a hundred years, the Tennen had dominance over all of the stars in the Eupherion Cloud, though only less than a percent of these were considered habitable to them. Many worlds were terraformed to their liking, while the construction of a few ecumenopolises began. In a thousand years, the Tennen had founded a vast and prospering interstellar civilization. Tennen then on expanded into the cosmos outside their native nebula, unafraid of any threats. This mentality was heavily shaken when the Siphad discovered the Tennen, and quickly destroyed its colony craft.
Siphad could not directly launch any attacks on the Tennen as the Eupherion Cloud was non-existent for it. As a result, what followed was a thousand-year long series of interstellar conflicts around the border of the Eupherion Cloud. When the first strike to the central processing unit of Siphad was launched, the broken portion of its root code was broken. As a consequence, Siphad could see the Eupherion Cloud, and began repairing itself, as the Void Fusion Missile which hit it destroyed a large portion of it. Tennen started preparing for a great conflict and mobilizing all of their forces. Many of their worlds were militarized, and countless civilians were drafted to fight in their final war.

First Starfield's War
Story of Mankind
Arrival of Humanity
Humans were the first sapient species to travel from the Universe into the Palioxis Starfield. Following decades of research and development in Aylothn, this near-impossible feat was accomplished. The first Skyven Manipulators, megastructures capable of manipulating streams of Miriandynic Energy, were made by the Thulcandran Federation in the 94,000s. Since Miriandynic Energy is derived solely from the Palioxis Starfield, its quantum-scale alternation could result in a massive rift to it. This feat would only be conceivable because natural nanoscale rifts allow Miriandynic Energy to flow into Local Cosmos on a rare occasion.
The earliest Skyven Manipulators were bulky, energy-hungry, and inefficient. It would take all the energy output that an average red dwarf can emit in a million years to create a rift to the Palioxis Starfield. As a result, local power sources were created and existing ones were directed to power these devices. Around five thousand years ago, the Palioxis Rift to the region was generated within the vicinity of Via Aurum. A pair of FTL-capable probes were dispatched into the region shortly thereafter. The Palioxis Starfield was declared safe for colonization after a year of reconnaissance around a Field known as the Gathering Field.
Following that, a fleet of ten colony ships arrived, accompanied by numerous escort craft. The colony ships were instantly transported through the Palioxis Rift, and they were directed to a verified habitable moon a light-year distant from where the Palioxis Rift had transported them within the region. The interstellar journey was facilitated via a sophisticated Electric Field Drive, with which it took less than an hour to accomplish. PSF-H1 was the official designation for this moon, however it was subsequently renamed to Theras.
Theras had evolved into a prosperous, self-sustaining capital world for Humanity in the Palioxis Starfield after three years of occupation. Many cities were built on its verdant surface, while neighboring worlds were excavated for mission-critical resources. Suddenly, one of the Skyven Manipulators began to malfunction significantly, most likely as a result of unidentified interference. The interdimensional fissure vanished after this event, as if it had never existed in the first place.
New Age for Mankind
The collapse of the first Palioxis Rift proclaimed the beginning of a new era for all of mankind in the Palioxis Starfield. The bulk of the settlements succumbed to mass hysteria, though some fought back and began to prosper over the course of a few decades. The United Terran Federation was established soon afterward as a result of the union of the colonies. The United Terran Federation was condemned to the late stages of interplanetary expansion, although progress was extraordinarily rapid at the period.
One interplanetary spaceship began receiving disruption from their communicators throughout a manned voyage to the neighboring planet of Luur. This was initially considered to be a simple system malfunction, but it was soon found to be an ancient alien wreckage lurking beneath a vast radioactive desert. The mission plan was quickly changed, and the spacecraft and its crew were set on a direct course with only one directive, which was to uncover this millenia-old ruin.
When the ship arrived on Luur, the wreckage was dredged up and examined, and it was thought to be a mere lump of metal. But then, through a well-hidden switch, one of the team members unintentionally unsealed an entrance to the wreckage. Just one piece of technology was discovered after exploring within. Careful examination demonstrated that this device was employed for superluminal travel, and that it was several times more powerful than any superluminal drive most had ever seen. Though it took decades to effectively adapt this technology to an experimental spacecraft, it did function in the end. In the Palioxis Starfield, this was regarded as humanity's greatest achievement, and this type of technology was termed the Matter-Force Alternator Drive.
Through using Matter-Force Alternator Drive, several local systems were quickly colonized, followed by the further ones, until mankind eventually claimed and governed over ten thousand star systems. Following this extensive colonization, the United Terran Federation was divided into several states. Each of these states would subsequently have its own governance, albeit the Terran Senate, situated on Theras, would still be in authority over them all.
The Thulcandran Federation started the construction brand new and enhanced Skyven Manipulators around a thousand years ago. At the time, the United Terran Federation had authority nearly three million star systems under authority. The Palioxis Rift was reopened using the new Skyven Manipulators. In comparison to the first instance of the Palioxis Rift, this one formed in a fraction of the time and energy.

Civilizations
The Palioxis Starfield is separated into hundreds of interstellar civilizations, some of which possess only a handful of star systems, whereas others have risen to the top and govern billions of stars. The Singularia, which rules much of Primordia's Realm is statistically the largest individual nation in terms of territory. The Anixdes' Throne, which is three times smaller than Singularia but has 10 times the population, is the most populous. Palioxis Starfield's political landscape is far too diverse to be classified as either 'peaceful' or 'raging with conflict,' as each part of space has its own distinct political landscape.
