Template:Infobox TechnologyThe Treasure of Gladio-Mankano is a theorized ancient device created by Gladio-Mankano of the Theogony in the Ambrosia Galaxy. It is believed to be created around the year 3,300,000,500 BCE. It received its name from the Etymology, the successors of the aforementioned Theogony

Overview[]

The Treasure of Gladio-Mankano is one of the most infamous stories in Ambrosian history, as it has enraptured the imaginations of any who hear it. Just the mere prospect of it alone is enough to drive any civilization wild with envy and causing them to want to obtain it by any means necessary. The reason for this would be the so said nature of the main focus of the story itself. In this story, the once famous: "Gladio-Mankano", one of the greatest scientific minds in all of Ambrosia, claimed that he created a device that could replicate any matter without any form of limitation, essentially on the level of magic.

This was used as his explanation on how during the final centuries of the conflict between the Theogony and the Etymology that the former civilization was able to produce the vast amounts of resources needed for the countless weapons and war machines that were created at the time, as at that point during the war, the Theogony only had territory in the Silent Reaches region, and even then, only a few thousand star systems in it.

Due to the ludicrous nature of the story, it is most likely untrue and civilizations would be better off not wasting their time chasing after a fairy tale. Despite this however, several species and civilizations would attempt to locate the device, with the most notable being the Theogony's successors, the Etymology, or more specifically, Mystara of the Ten Supreme Authorities that ruled the aforementioned civilization. Mystara herself served as the rival scientific mind to Gladio-Manko on the side of the Etymology and was the one responsible for his demise, in fact, the story itself was told by Gladio-Mankano before the death sentence was preformed.

As a result, Mystara would become enamored with finding the device, and she would spend countless millennia attempting to find it, though this proved to be in vain, as she was unable to locate the device. So while most will tell you that the story of the Treasure of Gladio-Mankano were the inane ramblings of a dying man, due to the scientific genius Mystara's fanatical obsession with the tale, along with how the Etymology was unable to ascertain as to how the Theogony was able to produce the amount of resources that they did, it has led it to have some shred of credibility to some, including the Etymology's own successor, the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems.

Map[]

Along with the story, Gladio-Mankano created a long and elaborate map system that would, in theory, lead one to the location of the Treasure of Gladio-Mankano once fully deciphered. The system itself would be created through the use of large computer terminals that he set up on specific celestial bodies across the Silent Reaches. To find the location of each, one must complete various tasks and logic puzzles that were programmed on them, with the first computer terminal's location being given by Gladio-Mankano himself, which was the desert moon of: "Esfalméni". In total, there are supposedly four computer terminals located on four separate celestial, with the fourth and final one leading to the device itself.

These logic puzzles required the challenger to be extremely knowledgeable in the fields of neuroscience, biology, nano-biology, physics, and telekinetics, along with Ambrosian history up to the time of the computer's construction. These puzzles are so advanced, that one must be on par with Gladio-Mankano himself in terms of knowledge in these respective fields, which for the case of Mystara was a relatively easy task.

Once the first computer terminal was deciphered, it would give the geographical location to the next computer terminal, which was located inside of the orange dwarf star: "Katéfthynsi", requiring the use of advance space ships to even enter within the general vicinity of the computer. And of course, once this respective map was deciphered, it would lead to the third world's location, the ocean planet of: "Althiea".

However, once the individual in question enters Althiea's borders they will be unable to locate the third computer terminal, as it seems that there isn't one located across the whole of the planet. Even attempting to locate it on its moon of Delfain will prove futile, and of course, without the third computer terminal, the fourth cannot be located. Thanks to this, it is believed by most that the third and fourth computer terminals don't exist, and that the entire story of the Treasure of Gladio-Mankano is just a story to make Mystara and the Etymology waste their time.

Despite this, some still contend that the location given is meant to throw off a pursuer and the true location can still be found. However since an individual like Mystara was unable to find it after countless years, this is most likely false.
