Overview[]

The Ugnara Kingdom was the ruling body that held control over all worlds and colonies that the Ugnara operate within. During its peak, it held a firm control of twenty star systems across the Mid Arm and sustained a population of around fifty-eight billion.

It would be the dominant government that ruled all Ugnara throughout most of the species civilized history, with it being founded after the Ugnara Uniting War in 8,120 BCE. Though in reality, the title of; "Ugnara Kingdom" is more of a blanket term comprising many different Ugnaraian kingdoms each with their own respective laws, rulers, peoples and cultures.

Later on, the Ugnara Kingdom would form the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems with the Human Alliance of Ambrosia, a rival intragalatic government the Ugnara Kingdom waged war with during the; "Ugnara Wars" in 10,465 CE. So while technically operating under a larger government, thanks to them being a founding member, they were able to keep their own autonomy over what laws they wish to implement in their respective colony worlds, provided that these laws did not break those established by the two species at the Alliance's founding.

Culture[]

Since the Ugnara Kingdom's culture changed extremely often, it is quite varied depending on each era. However, a few constants were known throughout all Ugnara culture. First and most notable would be the pantheon of gods that persisted throughout all known Ugnara history, to the point of it being simply called "Ugnarain Mythology" by most. Another would be the chief tenants of the man who founded the first Ugnara Kingdom, Rinioup Drywiq the First. These tenants would be based around his concept of honor, responsibility, and respect for one's fellows.

For honor, He believed that to find true honor, one must put their lives on the line for those that they cared about. This can be interpreted many ways, but most Ugnara figured this meant joining the military and defending their homeland against foreign threats. For responsibility, he believed that one must uphold their word to the absolute letter, and should never break it, to the point of staking their lives on even the most mynute of promises. More often then not however, one will not be able to hold this over zealous tenant and will most likely claim they follow, while spitting in the face of it. And finally for respect, he believed that all peoples deserved the most basic of respect and dignity, even the most vile criminal wasn't beyond redemption. This was by far the most widely practiced tenant, as it is fairly easy to treat your fellows with respect and dignity.

During the rule of Rinioup Drywiq the first and Rinioup Drywiq the Second, these tenants would see their most widespread use, however after both of their respective deaths, they would gradually be practiced less and less. So while they maybe the most recurring element in Ugnara Kingdom culture, they hardly matter at this point in history.

Along with the tenants, his name would live on throughout each leader of the Ugnara Kingdom, with both Ugnara kings and queens taking the name; "Rinioup Drywiq" as their own followed by the correct numerical title they have chronologically. The reason for this would be how Rinioup Drywiq the First and Second are viewed by the Ugnarian populace, as they often hold them as the greatest heroes to ever have lived. So in hopes of being able to emulate the aforementioned brothers, they will take their name.

Similar to the Ugnara Kingdom's culture, its overall governing style changed many times as well. Some took a more hands-on approach, enforcing its laws upon the Ugnara populace, however these types of Ugnara Kingdoms typically didn't last long and would fall into rebellion. While others would be more relaxed when it came to presiding over its subjects, allowing for more individual freedoms.

Despite these differences, all Ugnara Kingdoms would operate as a monarchy, with the next king or queen being selected by blood. The exact lineage of these royal families would change after a massive conflict, assuming the current royal family was on the losing side. For many centuries, the direct lineage of Rinioup Drywiq the First would be the ones to claim the Ugnarian crown, however after the death of the mad queen Rinioup Drywiq the Thirty-Third, the throne would change hands and a new royal family would lead for several generations.

Once fully implemented in the Ambrosia Alliance, the nature of the royal family would change. Instead of being hereditary, the leader of the Ugnara Kingdom would be democratically selected by the Ugnarain populace by vote, serving a twenty standard year term. So while the title of king and queen would still be used, it would effectively be meaningless.

Military and Technology[]

The military of the Ugnara Kingdom would also be subject to the constant changes throughout the Ugnara's history. During the era of Rinioup Drywiq the First, the Ugnara Kingdom military would be vast, with most able-bodied Ugnara making up the grand army. The reason for this would be the turbulent time that was the founding of the first Ugnara Kingdom, as many Ugnara clans attempted to usurp Rinioup Drywiq the First. It would also be fairly large during the rule of Rinioup Drywiq the Twenty Seventh as he too had to deal with constant attempts to undermine his rule, though unlike his grandfather, this would be an internal family matter, with his younger sister attempting to take the throne by force during the conflict known as the "First Ugnarain Civil War"

During the time of the Rinioup Drywiq the Thirty-Third, the aforementioned queen disbanded the entire Ugnara Kingdom military in one of her many manic episodes and appointed her personal royal guard as the government's standing army. This foolish move would inventively be her undoing as once the rebellion against her started, her royal guard would be overwhelmed and quickly surrender.

Throughout the Ugnara Wars, the Ugnara Kingdom military would reach its largest size in history, with as much as one in every four adult Ugnara being enlisted into the armed forces, as with the interstellar scope of the conflict, a considerably large force was needed. And once they were defeated and joined forces with their former enemy, they would continue to keep this large military, as more Ugnara served in the Ambrosia Alliance's Grand Army then humans. They would also make wide spread use of the artificial soldiers that humans at the time were quite fond of using.

During the formation of the Ugnara Kingdom, the technology of the civilization was similar to that of humans during their; "Bronze Age", utilizing simple stone structures and creating weaponry made of the aforementioned metal. At the peak of the government's independent history, they had typical early type two technology, utilizing space ships equipped with simple warp drives allowing the Ugnara to travel to relatively nearby star systems with ease. As well, they had the ability to terraform several worlds, a practice the Ugnara are now well known for abusing.

History[]

Founding[]

The history of the Ugnara Kingdom begins with the defeat of Mavelokwe, then leader of the most powerful Ugnara Clan, the Cevlokwe, by his younger brother, Havelokwe at the final battle of the Ugnara Uniting War known as the; "Battle of the Brothers" in 8,120 BCE. At the end of the battle, the Cevlokwe Clan, now leaderless, joined with Havelokwe's Penala Clan, swearing absolute fealty to him, forming the newly named; "Ugnara Kingdom."

Shortly after the kingdom's founding, Havelokwe felt immense pain towards the loss of his brother, and, wanting to distance himself from him, saw fit to change his name. Thus, he decided to change his name to; "Rinioup Drywiq the First." naming himself after the Ugnarian Gods of Royalty and Valor respectively. Rinioup Drywiq the First would soon wage war with the remaining Ugnarian Clans, until' by the year 8,100 BCE, all civilized Ugnara would fall under the Ugnara Kingdom's banner. Afterwards, he would maintain the kingdom well for fifteen standard years, until' he unfortunately fell victim to lung cancer in 8,085 BCE.

His older brother, Tavelokwe, who served as his grand general throughout the Ugnara Uniting War, took the Ugnarian Throne as his younger brother died without an heir, becoming Rinioup Drywiq the Second. During his rule, and rule of his lineage, the kingdom experienced a long period of peace and progress, rapidly advancing through the technological ages

First Ugnarian Civil-War[]

This period of peace would be interrupted in the year 6,213 BCE when the rule of Rinioup Drywiq the Twenty Seventh was challenged by his younger sister, Yowrara and her cult of followers. This cult, named the; "Chosen of the Ancients" worshiped the numerous Etymology ruins strung about the planet of Urgutu that were constructed by the ancient Phelcombura species. She and her followers believed that the Ugnarian Mythology all Ugnara followed was blasphemous towards their religion and those who followed it needed to be exterminated off the face of the world. Thus, she would attempt to destroy the Ugnara Kingdom, waging war against her brother in a conflict known as the; "First Ugnarian Civil-War"

The First Ugnarian Civil-War would claim countless lives and cause massive amounts of damage across the whole of Urgutu, leading it to be one of the most bloody conflicts in the history of their species. Thankfully for the Ugnara Kingdom however, King Rinioup Drywiq the Twenty Seventh and his loyal forces would defeat Yowrara and her death cult in 6,200 BCE.

Reign of the Mad Queen[]

However that would not be the end of the Kingdom's misfortunes, as after the untimely death of Rinioup Drywiq the Twenty Seventh, several unfit rulers led the Ugnara Kingdom on the brink of ruin several times, with the most vile of which being the Mad Queen Rinioup Drywiq the Thirty-Third. As her name suggested, she suffered from several severe mental conditions, and one of these would cause her to have manic episodes. During these so-called episodes, she would be paranoid that all of the Ugnara populace wanted to depose her and she would sentence many to death without any form of limitation or provocation.

During one of these episodes she would disband the whole of the Ugnara Kingdom military and appoint her personal royal guard as the standing army. This phenomenally foolish move would prove to be her undoing, as this was viewed as the final straw of the Ugnara military, as not only were they planning a coup d'etat thanks to the insanity of their leader, now they were also publicly humiliated. Thus, they would join with the enraged populace and march on the capital, and, while putting up a good fight, the Ugnarian Royal Guard were overwhelmed, and had to surrender. Queen Rinioup Drywiq the Thirty-Third herself would be executed, ending the Mad Queen's rule.

Second Ugnarian Civil-War[]

Later on, deep into the Common Era, while the Ugnara Kingdom was in the early years of its space age, King Rinioup Drywiq the Ninetieth ruled with a very lose grasp on his people. He was viewed as an ineffective leader, unable to meet the expectations of his late father. To prove that he too could become a great king, he would push the greatest scientific minds of the Ugnara population to create greater and greater technological wonders. These included many things that are instrumental to a species' development such as rockets, satellites, and atomic energy. Most of these owe their creation to a single individual, a one; "Pafniawoi."

Pafniawoi was a brilliant scientist and a staunch pacifist, so when his invention of atomic energy was used to created the first Ugnarian atom bomb, he was enraged and felt slighted by Rinioup Drywiq the Ninetieth, and as a result, harbored a burning hatred for the man, though he'd have to hide it due to him being the highest scientific authority in the Ugnara Kingdom.

In 10,030 CE, Pafniawoi and a small team of astronauts were sent on a manned mission to the Terra moon of Purraalaaw. Once landing, they would quickly discover ancient Etymology ruins belonging to the Phelcombura that once called the world home. Within these ruins lied the secret to technologies light-years beyond what the Ugnara were currently capable, of such as interstellar Warp Drives and extremely advanced weaponry. With this discovery, Pafniawoi would appear before Rinioup Drywiq the Ninetieth with a simple ultimatum, make him the next Ugnarian king, or watch as the whole of the Ugnara Kingdom burned. When he inevitably refused, Pafniawoi declared war against the Ugnara Kingdom, starting the; "Second Ugnarain Civil-War."

Unlike the first civil-war, Pafinawoi would have no followers, and he would fend off the whole of the Ugnara Kingdom on his own. He would accomplish this through the use of the aforementioned technology of the Etymology, using ancient satellite arrays to rain fire down upon the world of Urgutu. To the Ugnarain populace, it felt as if the world itself was ending, and that the gods themselves were demanding that Pafniawoi succeed as the next king. Thus, they would depose King Rinioup Drywiq the Ninetieth and crown Pafniawoi as the Ninety-First King of the Ugnara in 10,038 CE, and he would begin a new age for the Ugnara, launching them to the stars.

Ugnara Wars[]

With their fairly low-end version of the Warp Drive, they were able to colonize around twenty nearby star systems, quickly populating the worlds that could house them, until' they would encounter the two adjacent star systems, Dilarcent and Clamoris in 10,457 CE. While attempting to colonize the star system, they would soon discover that they were already housing the currently warring factions of humans, the Human Alliance of Ambrosia in the Clamoris System, and the True Alliance of Man in the Dilarcent System respectively. The current monarch of the Ugnara Kingdom at the time was Rinioup Drywiq the One Hundreth, and he felt as if it was a personal slight against him. And, rather then attempting to make contact with the humans, attacked both of the star systems, destroying most cities across the worlds targeted and killing many, starting the conflict that would come to be known as the; "Ugnara Wars"

With the introduction of a common threat, the Human Alliance of Ambrosia and the True Alliance of Man would cease fighting with each other, and focus their attention towards the Ugnara Kingdom. With their far superior technology, the Ugnara were beaten in almost every battle fought, as well as the extreme ire of the humans, leading to their ultimate defeat at the battle known as the; "Fall of the Ugnara Kingdom" in 10,465 CE.

Founding of the Ambrosia Alliance[]

After the battle, the two human factions would begin to war with each other once more, however, the Human Alliance would see opportunity as they would extend a hand to the rebuilding Ugnara Kingdom. They proposed forming a new alliance, one where the Human Alliance and the Ugnara Kingdom would share in all worlds, resources, and technologies the two aforementioned civilizations had to offer. Seeing the endless opportunities this presented them, the Ugnarain populace would accept without the formal acknowledgement of the Ugnarain monarch.

The Ugnarain populace, seeing how friendly humans truly were, became enraged with their current monarch as he threw countless lives away to service his own ego, and he would quickly become deposed, and King Rinioup Drywiq the Hundreth would become the last true monarch of the Ugnara Kingdom, as it was replaced with a democratic system, ending a hundred generations and making way for a new age.
