The Zythyns are a widespread sapient species across Aylothn and beyond. They are a considerably widespread species, as there are a total of 21.46 Quintillion individuals in Aylothn. They are credited for creating the Lowzyol Federation, rising from Sedrua's grasp after the Zythyn-Sedruan War. Ever since their freedom, Zythyns have had a turbulent history, being responsible for the War for Peleunsk, and Commonwealth's Eclipse. They are also known for creating the Uspayador Plutocracy of Etheaunsk, in turn causing the Samutan-Uspayador War and the Nisrine War. As such, Zythyns are viewed as a relatively war-like species, with an affinity for aggression and expansion throughout its history.

  +
Appearance
The reason for their low muscular structure derives from their scale toughness and protection. As a result from it, there has been no need for muscular or strong Zythyns for survival, and society. However, Zythyns who have pushed for muscle growth are often seen as unique, with their scales toughening up and enlarging. This is known to be their body's response to prevent separation of the scales, and eventual cracking.

  +
Zythyns are considerably hairy and stout, standing on two front legs and one longer hind leg carrying a lengthy torso. They have two arms, each equipped with four bony fingers used for grabbing and picking. Each of their legs have three short toes, which help with balance in Lorokira's high gravity environment. Zythyn legs can move relatively quickly, though most Zythyns approach a natural top speed of 30 km/h. Primarily, it helps with leverage on terrain and provides balance along with the toes.
Scales
The surface of these scales have a thin layer of tough material, that can resist up to 7000 kilograms per square centimeter. A rare subsection of Zythyn genes can allow the scales to stay optimal at 12,000 kilograms per square centimeter. The scales themselves show small amounts of pigmentation, as a result of Sa'Kia's ultraviolet bleaching of the scales. Only a select few natural Zythyns may be born with an innate 'sunblock', which lets them show a colorful pigmentation.

  +
Zythyns are usually laden with layers of blubber and fat, which keeps their bodies warm. Evolution on Lorokira led to this trait on their bodies, making Zythyns appear paunchy. Under their blubber is a dense, hard muscular system that helps with supporting the body. Zythyn bones are much the same, with dense marrow supporting surrounded by a strong outside.
Scales Structure
Their hard scales are not too tough internally, though. If any Zythyn tries to partake in a physical fist fight, they would experience sharp pain every time they would attack their opponent. This happens because Zythyn scales are held up and put together by strong ropes of tissue, and forcing lots of pressure in quick bursts can disrupt them. Reports of complete severing of the tissues have been recorded to happen around the eyes, arms, and chest.

Tentacles
+
Biology
The average Zythyn possesses about 4-8 tentacle-like features on the top of their heads. The length of these are mostly seen around 51 centimeters (1.6 feet) in length. Some of which can grow to the 60 centimeter mark (2 feet), and may require removal or shortening. Longer tentacles have also been known to not correlate to better detection of smell, which is covered next.

  +
Subspecies
As a result of them having no noses, sensitive tentacles have replaced them with a grand ability to smell. This works very similarly to a nose, allowing pheromones to drift in. This data is sent to the brain, and is deciphered in a similar fashion. This has also let Zythyns smell many trace gases, which a Human might not detect. This includes carbon monoxide, radon, argon, helium, and nitrogen among others.

  +
While Zythyns have numerous descendants, there are two major categories of them. They are named the Lorokirr (Original) and the Chakirr (Slender) Zythyns. Those of Lorokirr descent tend to show most characteristics of a baseline Zythyn, that being short and blubbery. They originated close to the poles, the cradle of all Zythyns. They are more muscular and rigid in shape, though they have low stamina and metabolism. Those of Chakirr descent are usually skinnier, and have less fat and fur. They are a result of gradual evolution by Lorokira's equator. They have greater endurance in comparison to their Lorokirr counterparts, though they fare poorly in colder conditions Additionally, they usually have less strength than Lorokirr Zythyns.
Internal Strength
A Zythyn's internals are actually quite frail when compared to a Human, or any other sapient organism. This is because they lack a large muscular structure, and their delicate internal scale tissue is easy to dislodge in many cases. To counteract this, Zythyns systematically morphed their population's muscle structure, and tendon strength with gene editing.

  +
Descendants of both Lorokirr and Chakirr Zythyns have sprouted following the advancement of genetic editing and colonization. As such, many unique species of Zythyn have appeared over many millennia. Most of them share the common characteristics of three legs, hairy bodies, and blubber. Interbreeding between subspecies is possible as well, though pregnancy is typically much harder to achieve.
Organs/Features
Zythyn organs differ greatly than any Human or Ambrosian organs. For example, when compared to a Human, one would note that Zythyns have an extra stomach. This is the case because natural Lokiran food was very tough, until the invention of agriculture. Over the period of thousands of years, Zythyn organs have shifted to a point where the stomach's acid is less potent, and the lower stomach is smaller.

  +
Respiratory System
Zythyn eyes are made up of tiny light receptors, similar to an insect. The eyes also have an ability that allows Zythyn individuals to manipulate how far they see. This is achieved by letting Zythyns change the focus of their lens, and moving at until they can see close or far. particularly useful for combat, and spying. The eyes are also very fragile, and most Zythyns have protective covers over them.

  +
Zythyns breathe with their large, flat noses which lead down a tract to their lungs. Their sense of smell is lower than average, though they can discern a total of several billion odors from one another. Their throats are strong and lined with a layer of fat to protect against Lorokira's cold air. Bloodflow to the throat's walls is more prevalent well, which warms up the throat and the body to an extent. Zythyn lungs have a thick, protective lining that prevents harm done by high atmospheric pressure. They have an above-average capacity, being able to hold their breath for two minutes without discomfort.
Bones
Zythyns contain a large amount of bones, cartilage, and sections of muscle and trace tissues underneath their scales. The muscles act like an internal protection system, and the tendons and ligaments allow for limited flexibility, which is explained below.

  +
Digestive System
Zythyns are usually very stiff when compared to a Human. As a result of their vast bone system, along with smaller amounts of connecting tissues, there are not a large amounts of directions that a Zythyn can move in. However, some notable Zythyns have been created with more tendon density, as well as more points for the bones to move in. These are the most flexible kinds of Zythyns, and they are roughly as maneuverable as a minor human athlete.

  +
Zythyns take in food through their mouths, which hold a long, barbed tongue designed to latch on to food and scrape meat off bones. Their teeth aren't necessarily sharp, though they are naturally proficient at gnashing and gnawing on tough objects. The teeth are primarily used for tearing apart tough flesh and bone, but they can also be used to crack open shells of nuts or fruits. Zythyn jaws are also able to crack through weaker bones, allowing one to access nutrient-rich marrow/ As a result, Zythyns are omnivores, though most prefer a lifestyle with plenty of meat.
Genetically enhanced Zythyns are also known to be quite flexible. Some have sacrificed much of their scales toughness and rigidness to maneuver better. These Zythyns are also quicker and can even jump higher, as a result of less scales on their bodies.

  +
Zythyns have a complex digestive tract, designed to take in and extract the nutrients from hard-to-digest foods. Zythyns have two stomachs, used for taking in as much nutrition as possible. Stomach acid is also potent, able to dissolve most substances in its presence. Since Lorokira's environment is frigid, fruits and nuts are typically encased in hard shells or other tough exteriors to protect them from nature. Fauna is also protected with thick skin, fat, and other tough insulating materials. This led Zythyns to go down a gritty style of eating. In history, many Zythyns have eaten objects which are normally non-edible. Grass, bark, bones, and even certain types of rocks have all been consumed by Zythyns.
Unique Abilities
Almost every Zythyn has a pronounced presence of unique abilities. Most of them are quite weak or limited due to the forces of gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces.

Telepathy
+
Senses
Telepathy has been a staple of Zythyn life ever since the invention of mass cloning and genome editing. However, telepathy has been in a rare group of Zythyns before this technology was made. Telepathy is possible in the first place by a small neurotransmitter gland the size of a pear. This gland is located under the Zythyn brain near the spine. All Zythyns had this in some form, but they were mostly underdeveloped, being approximately the size of a walnut. They mostly functioned as more amounts of white matter, and nothing more.

  +
Zythyns have a peculiar sense of taste, able to detect the smallest traces of flavor. This has led many to eat items that may be thought of as bland. Furthermore, their sense of taste extends beyond the mouth, as Zythyn stomachs are lined with a large number of taste receptors. These receptors are very much dull in comparison to the tongue's however, since they can only detect sweet or bitter flavors.
However, some gifted Zythyns had their neurotransmitter develop much more than usual, all the way until adulthood. These had the ability to vibrate it to an ultra-high frequency. If any other Zythyns with this ability were nearby, they could collect and decipher the frequency with the same organ, giving way to a basic form of telekinesis. The frequency travels like sound, disturbing the air particles to send it over. Eventually, this was found out by the masses. When the rare Zythyns' genes were extracted, many people wanted to have their offspring hold and give this ability. Eventually, within 4 generations, almost every Zythyn had this ability. It soon became even more common as genome editing phased into common life.

  +
Zythyns have large, bulbous nocturnal eyes which can detect wavelengths in the visible and ultraviolet spectrum. Their eyes are adaptive as well, being able to see darker colors across a wider spectrum. Bright lights are not a problem either, as Zythyn pupils can contract to about 0.5mm. Moreover, their eyes are very sensitive to movement, being able to pick up minute changes in its environment.
This ability does not work in the vacuum of space, as a result of there being no medium for the frequency to travel between. Instead, people in space simply use other forms of communication.

  +
Zythyn smell, like their sense of taste, is significantly enhanced. In prehistoric ages, it was used to detect the smells of animals, plants, and each other. Exceptional Zythyns can pick up and track a scent for many kilometers and can remember said scent for months or years. Scent is also a crucial factor in taste, as using both can enhance the flavor of food to a noticeable degree.
Behavior
Usually, Zythyns are extremely docile, and only get aggravated when pushed to a point that would make an average Human on the verge of assault. This docility has had its good and bad sides. For example, this has been unhelpful when events like The War for All happened. It had shockingly less impact on Zythyn opinion compared to Human opinion when it was declared. All of this docility is most likely made up from their sheer scale toughness and durability.

  +
Hearing for Zythyns is specialized to hear higher tones. The minimal hearing range is 150Hz, though the highest can go above 45,000Hz. This may be a result of Zythyn communication, since they speak with clicks and high beeping noises, combined with basic high-pitched phonetic sounds. Many animals across Lorokira also tend to have high-pitched vocal cords. This is thought to have helped ancient Zythyns detect nearby prey if they could not go off scent or eyesight.
Zythyn aggravation is usually very difficult to achieve. When it happens, the Zythyn body is naturally pumped with testosterone/estrogen, and adrenaline. Their anger is also released in short bursts, and usually occur without warning. This may cause a Zythyn to do unruly acts of anger in quick successions. These snaps of anger have also been 'exploited', with Zythyn battle suits being given pre-built adrenaline shots. This might help soldiers on the ground, who are struggling from enemy attack.

  +
The feeling of touch is the dullest to a Zythyn. They have a high pain tolerance and can deflect most blunt force attacks with their fat, blubbery bodies. Most of the time, pain receptors activate if a sharp object pierces the skin, or if any blunt force bruises muscle or lower layers of skin. Casual touching is rather numb to a Zythyn nonetheless, being not as keen as that of most sapient species.
Zythyns have been documented to primarily eat foods that are tough in composition, as their very acidic stomachs plow through any soft foods. Many choose to suck on foods like seeds and nuts, which have many flavors in them. Soft foods are eaten, as well, but are typically hard to enjoy as a result of a Zythyn's powerful jaws and teeth.

  +
Behavior and Social Dynamics
The average environment for a Zythyn is heavily urban-like, with only ~12% of the population living on planets that are rural. No matter the style of life that have, Zythyn cities are to be described as magnificent. This is because that their buildings are built with large amounts of patterns, being like polished and built with fractal-like patterns. While most buildings on Zythyn planets are not quite tall, there are the special 'Citadel' buildings that can go many kilometers high.

  +
Evolving from a species of apex hunters, Zythyns have a tendancy to show aggression and dominance over others. They are also very determined and resilient, holding family and beliefs closely. Zythyns are also very territorial, though they are more than able of forming stable communities. In said communities, Zythyns are very socialable, displaying a sense of brotherhood and protection to others. Zythyn communities are very like-minded, and show strong loyalty towards one another.
Last Names
Zythyn last names work quite differently than any person may expect. For a start, they are scaled not on hereditary measures, but it scales of wealth and importance. This rule mostly applies to the elite, as the presidents and governors are granted the last name 'Imir. Imir in Old Zythyn translates to a leader or mayor. This sub-section of the rule has also been quite vague within the past few millennia. As of 200000 CE, most people have opted-in for untraditional last names.

  +
As mentioned, Zythyns have a natural passion to protecting their culture and families. Many have sacrified themselves to ensure the survivability of their ways and relatives. Loyalty towards family likely originated from Lorokira's harsh environments, as Zythyns quickly learned the benefits of teamwork in their evolutionary years. Culture is much the same as a result, though differing cultures have a higher tendancy to disrespect one another.
How Zythyns used to be created
Many outsiders to Zythanity have often pondered on how more citizens are made. Well, it does not involve a horrible and inefficient birthing process, alike humans or other mammalian or arthropod organisms. Millennia ago, before genetic cloning and even painless birthing, Zythyns laid large egg-like structures, which they would keep tended and incubated for approximately 3 standard months. The hatchling would then grow to be about 1/2 the mother's size and walking within only one standard year. The newborn would also molt into new scales many times, causing annoying messes. In a Zythyn home similar to a 21st century Earth, electronic heating and cooling for the eggs were readily available, and vaccinations would sometimes be injected inside the egg if a vulnerability was detected.
